The civil servant on the BBC main news tonight almost crying because Priti had raised her voice & swore during a meeting is an embarrassment.

Grow a pair of bollocks.

In my experience of working in the Steel industry for 44 years, raising your voice and swearing would be an everyday occurrence.

Bullying? Come on!

Swearing would be against company policy , even the macho steelworkers would be bound by that

1st two years of my emplyment life were spent in the Abbey. Bullying part of the core values of most.Mainly seen as a means of toughening a boy up into a man. I was always gobby and stood up for myself and had many a ruck. Most from the small valley villages granted but I truly hated it there.

It was against company policy when I was a postman but most swore like troopers, including the women and managers.

We were supposed to treat each other with respect

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Whatever your political viewpoint, an inquiry led by an independent person appointed by the PM concluded that Patel was guilty of bullying. The Prime Minister had put himself in an impossible position at the outset when he stated that the Home Secretary retained his full support. He should never had made such a comment, but it just illustrates his lack of political awareness that we continue to see with ill thought out comments (Scottish devolution being the latest). From that moment on he could never remove her because it would undermine his credibility. As mentioned on previous pots, it is very likely that the report is damning as it has sat on his desk for so long. If there was no case to answer it would have been addressed immediately. It has only come out now as a result of the appearance of the former head of the civil service at a parliamentary committee this week. Therefore, Johnson had no choice.

That said, I have great misgivings about Johnson. In addition to making comments that come back to haunt him or need to be "clarified" by spokespeople he is undermining the integrity of the great office that he holds. In addition to this claim that Patel had not broken the ministerial code he said the same about Honest Bob in the planning scandal where he broke the law. On top of this we have the Cummings affair, willingness to break international law over Brexit, cronies making massive gains from dodgy contracts and the influence of his partner. All this in addition to the stream of lies that he comes out with. Regardless of your politics, the PM of this country should act in line with the expectations of the office and he does not come anywhere near the standards that he should be displaying.

That is the trouble with civil servants. They are heavily unionised and have never worked in the outside world. They are totally opposed to any change and a lot are happy to do as little as possible and just pick up their pay packets. They also have a job security that outside industry do not have. They are virtually unsackable.

The civil servants she’s dealing with by enlarge won’t be your minions on low bucks, they will be your well educated senior leader types, they’d would be pro establishment and not likely to rock the boat. Bullying is unacceptable.

Makes no odds the sex, the party or the work environment.

A bully is one of the lowest of the low.

She should go, no question about it.

I've spent 30 years in construction, swearing, and scrapping goes hand in hand, but bullying is completely different. Gutless cowards on power trips, or just trying to look clever in front of their mates.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

I seem to recall that when it was revealed in court that a Labour MP homophobically bullied colleagues within the constituency office, the Labour leadership backed her and she was later promoted to Deputy Leader of Welsh Labour.

Exactly, I've had more bollockings than I care to remember, and I took them, because I deserved 95% of them.

Many a time I've heard a work mate tell me "Got off with a good bollocking" after getting into a bit of trouble.

There's a big difference from getting a deserved bollocking, to constant and unnecessary bullying.

If getting free trips abroad was a resigning offence, we'd have no government and no opposition party.

Yeah pretty much how I see it.

I don’t get involved with the politics debates on here but it surely must be pretty clear, even to the most avid Tory, that this government is falling apart. Can’t say I’m surprised to be honest.

And she was found to have broken ministerial code by a person hand picked by Bozo.

Stinks.
Boris has had this for months and sat on it, now that the report’s been leaked his hand has been forced. He’s standing by her much to the disgust of the author who’s quit. As a minister of high state she should be aware of the impact her behaviour has on all parties.

We haven’t heard the end of this, the guy who quit on account of her behaviour seems intent on his day in the tribunal and I suspect the Minster may have a tough old time !!!

There was a time when a politician would resign at the suggestion of impropriety, they'd do it for the good of the government.

These days (and for many since past) politicians are far too self serving and greedy to give up a good thing, public servants....

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

You can see all of that in her face, her demeanour, her stony stare.

Gestapo material.
