This isn't a football forum anymore is it?

For as long as you leave the Brexit thread and others fester you will attract the same type of .......

Politics has always played a bit part role in any forum but was always massively secondary to why we are all here in the first place - the Swans.

Now, you get certain idiots who haven't got the slightest interest in the football and are only here to spread their right wing muck, conspiracy theories and shite propaganda.

Around and around and around again. Let's face it, they could deny the holocaust on here couldn't they, dipping into the their nasty little echo chambers for any snippets of propaganda or news which would add more fuel to their bile.

This used to be for Swans fans to talk about SCFC. It's anything but now.

Just my tuppence worth.

It’s politics, pure and simple. One side wants to silence the other and happy to use any tactics they can, abuse, intimidation, slander - you name it.

This forum is anything but an echo chamber, which is why the threads are sometimes 110+ pages, there are a range of views and many disagreements. This forum is better now, than it ever has been.

Nobody is forcing people to click on threads they don’t want to, nobody is forcing anyone to click on the forum itself. There is a rabidly left wing forum elsewhere full of genuine intolerance, bile and hatred - which actually is an echo chamber, they are looking to grow and would I'm sure happily take on new posters. Or there is this one with left, center and right leaning. People have choices.

If a healthy society meant we should all agree then there would be no need for more than one party, would there? I hope nobody gets bullied or intimidated into changing their views, I most certainly won’t be regardless of the lengths people will go to in order to try. But people are more than welcome to put some counters forward to anything they disagree with, oddly that doesn’t tend to happen very often.

When Risca posted that you were making a comeback, i said in that thread that you won't be on here for long, due to this board becoming what it is, and everything you hate about society being the flavour of the posters here. It is a festering right wing echo chamber, it's too far gone to change now. I have no idea why i keep coming back here, more out of habit than anything i suppose. All the posters I like are over on the other board, but i don't get on with the layout over there.

I hope that Keith makes a success out of it, for obvious reasons.

It certainly does seem that way mate and we'll have to see if it's worth hanging around for.

I wasn't talking about this being an echo chamber, however, more the feeds these people tap into on their Facebook and Twitter pages. There, it's full of the shite they transfer to other places such as here. and wrap it up as if it were their original thoughts and discoveries.

Most of these people are getting played - I think deep down they enjoy it because as mentioned before it's pressing their buttons.

Some are actively influencing it though and some that would not have made a single post on the subject in the first 2 years of Trump's Presidency, for example. Even though there were hundreds of active pages in full debate and they were posting at the same time.

It wasn't important then, but it is now, it's like the most important thing in their lives all of a sudden. More important than sleep - 5 hours like, you can get irritated on such little sleep and paranoid.

Makes you wonder who they follow and why.

But hey Keith, you seem like a decent bloke the more I am getting to know you and hear about you. I just hope these guys stick around next year and beyond when God willing politics may start to take a more backward seat. Mind, there will always be something for some to obsess over, down in the Valley.

Note to self....

You love it. I’m not having a bar of it.

Darran and Shaky no longer post so you are looking for a new foe, just your nature. It’s a shame, but it’s nothing new.

I don’t think I have been irritated in the whole time I have come back. Amused maybe by people and their insane reactions to common sense, but certainly not irritated.

It is absolutely a football forum first and foremost. This forum (along with SwansTV) has been the next best thing to going to the Liberty and away matches. Having a chat with like minded Swans fans about football stuff. And the quality of football posts has rocketed in the last few days thanks to the OP.

Me and my mates don't go to the Liberty for a chat with Swans fans about Brexit. If it pops up in conversation over a pint fair enough but it's not the focus. The same is true re visiting this forum, football is the focus.

The football content on this forum is unrivalled. I see Planetswans is also upping it's game which can only be a good thing for Swans fans.

(The biggest threat to Keith fulfilling his goals with this forum is unwanted, puerile abuse from interlopers intent on wreaking havoc with twisted agendas. It's pretty obvious who they are, a constant menace, bullying and attacking in packs. Thank heck Keith is brandishing the red cards)

Yes, agreed. Fully 😂
You can’t please all the people all of the time, that’s for sure.

It's easy really. Support both sites, or which ever one floats your boat it's not rocket science.
If you don't like one or the other or both, theres a forth option, you can fill in the rest.

A Forth option, what, throw yourself in the river?

I'm in the "if you don't like it or it don't interest you, ignore it" camp too.

The football board is great, NotLoyal does great matchday threads, the stories are good, I don't post there so very much, not as much as here anyway but hey, that's my right.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Do you have me in mind, perhaps you do? I don’t venture over to the football page that often and partake in the amateur punditry as the world wouldn’t stop spinning on its axis if I don’t lend an opinion as to whether we should employ a flat back four on Saturday or not? It’s probably a better place for my abstinence.

I come on the non-football page to use it as a sounding board to gauge opinion by positing views and making observations on subjects that I consider worth the effort.

Like what? Well I can give you a good instance from earlier today that set me on edge. I spent ten minutes or so cooing over the £10,000 watches in Ernest Jones when not a hop-skip-and-jump away on leaving the Quadrant I came across a girl not much older than my own who was freezing and clearly sleeping rough. That’s what motivates me, that’s what makes me angry: there’s something badly wrong, obscenely wrong with a system, a society where conspicuous consumption is juxtaposed with destitution and the hundreds of others passing that way at the same time didn’t even notice. The kid was invisible.

That’s more important to me than football. I’d rather talk about that.

I can imagine it now.

“That through ball split the defence like the whigs in 1717 and I haven’t seen a strike as glorious as that since the workers of the west Bolivian mining company demanded to be able to use pickaxes instead of their hands.”

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Click “football”

You will find 40760 odd threads there about yes you’ve guessed it “football”

Now that wasn’t to hard was it? You can now discuss football until your heart is content.

It’s like someone in Underhill Park telling the people watching the rugby to stop and watch the football on the other pitch since they prefer football, if you want to go from one to another no problem, if you want to concentrate on one fine, it’s your choice. Now just enjoy the beautiful weather and the fact BOJO has got us OUT of the eu with a deal and delivered the will of the people and democracy 😀😀😀
