5000 occurred because of the care home fcuk up back in March most but a few on here can understand that which they sorted out, for the 8 months since the death rates average 20 a day and they never locked down, and even today implement fewer restrictions than the countries who are having hundreds of deaths every day, that also coupled with the thousands of lives saved due to continuing normal medical diagnostic dialysis and treatment which most of the locked down countries have been unable to provide, all you need to do is look at the daily death rates the latest out today UK 700 Sweden 23 but of course someone will soon come along and say the Swedish figures are wrong just as they have been doing for months now, but then they accept the UK figures despite them coming from the exact same official outlet not one of these newspapers they keep relying on. The affect of that is the general patients are not getting the services that they require, some due to fear, some due to lack of Docs and nurses.
If the IC units are full of COVID patients where do the general patients go when they need ICU?
However it appears that wards do become mixed with general and covid patients, otherwise why do so many people (16%-20%) catch covid in hospital?

We have closed smaller isolation units, created super hospitals where everything is centralised, wards are located off central corridors which everyone has to travel along, it’s not great for isolating and controlling infection!
NHS staffing levels are severely stretched, high levels of sickness and self isolating and some hospitals are looking at shutting outpatient services to consolidate ward staffing levels. The army are sending 90 soldiers to support the Welsh Ambulance service.
Non covid wards are being converted to Covid Wards instead of using the Nightingale facilities as there are no staff to operate the latter.
If people had listened and adhered to the rules it may not have been so bad, but we are facing a really serious situation and I think it’s going to get a lot worse. | | | |

I'll refer you to the response to your ridiculous claims, the bit below copied from a response you ignored.
Swedish deaths flattened out, just like all other Countries between waves.
Lets look at some other figures, deaths since Nov 1.
Norway 122, thats 22 deaths per million population
Finland 131, thats 23 deaths per million population
Sweden 1968, thats 194 deaths per population.
Compared to the rest of the World, Finland and Norway are outside the top 100 Countries for deaths per million. Even though Sweden has twice the population of both these Countries you'd expect them to be in the same ball park of death per million due to the large land mass and sparce population.
Instead they sit at #25.
Bollox to mistake in care homes, every country, including my own, had issues in care homes.

Where not talking about 10 day`s are we, the death rates have been low for 8 months we will see if they shoot up in the new year, but you lot have been saying about the on coming doom and gloom in Sweden and grasping false figures from these bias media outlets for god knows how long now, yet day after day there death rates rarely go above 20 or so. My cousin works in Morriston. They're busy as hell.
No busier than most winters, but that's not a justification. They're busy with Covid rather than Flu, and Covid (so far) is more contagious and more dangerous than their usual flu rush.

All it proves is the Uk has done twice as badly as Sweden but it's hard to judge because of vastly different demographics and because we all know the UK governments have done a terrible job. | |
