I can. Ive spoken to a few lads here working on the house and they aint keen either .Reds fans at that too. It could prove a massive own goal but it should free us from the plastics ,people from the likes of Swansea wearing proudly the shirt of a club 200 mls way that they will never see in the flesh. Why? Because they are "high profile" and always in the news . Pitiful clowns.

| Massive changes ahead for European football and the super league announcement on 14:24 - Apr 19 with 734 views | ReslovenSwan1 | The big teams want aa US system where they are guarentteed qualification every year and guarentteed the £300m. Competition becomes pointless and the games with noting on it will be flat and lacking in edge except for the "guest" teams. Arsenal will come bottom every year and will be quite happy as they know the money is in the bank however well they play. | |

No Ben Davies, Dan James, Joe Rodon, Gareth Bale, Neco Williams, Dylan Levitt, Ethan Ampadu, Matt Smith or Aaron Ramsey by my count. |
At that point they’d not have taken part in the competition. For sure there’s an intent, but not sure that’d be enough to ban them.

Shouldn’t be allowed to, ban them all and if wales suffer so be it.

The other thing is, the 5 teams that "qualify" what if one of them won the thing but didn't qualify the next season. This so called Super League is anything but super. They correcte that flaw in the CL but other tams still had to qualify even if they made it easier year on year for the big clubs. A 15 team, no relegation, big money league where most games could/would be pointless by the halfway stage and the team that finishes bottom could still be there next season but the team that wins it might not be.....boring.

Yep can’t do that, the gap would be utterly ludicrous between them and everyone else. This should be the marker in the sand and the greed ripped up and removed from football completely. In the NRL and AFL over here (and NFL in the states) there is no transfer fees, just trades. There is a league and club salary cap and there is a draft where each team takes turns to pick an up and coming youngster prior to the season starting from a pool of the best up and coming players in the country (those that finish in worse positions tend to get first dibs). Something needs to be done to make the game a bit fairer as money isn’t just going to ruin it, it already has ruined it.

The gap wouldn't be worse than it already is, besides, they would probably break the rules and play weakened teams. it'd be full of those returning from injury, out of form and any first teamer who didn't make the bench. Other teams would probably have more chance. I'll edit this because it wasn't what I meant, don't know what happened! Right what if Man city reserves won the Premier league, would Man City have 2 teams in the ESL? [Post edited 19 Apr 2021 19:43]

| Massive changes ahead for European football and the super league announcement on 16:30 - Apr 19 with 633 views | Badlands | I honestly can’t see the Premier League taking any action against the 6 clubs that possibly bring in 50% of the revenue. They are also big enough to run parallel teams. FA might kick them out of current European competitions (saw that suggestion somewhere else). Some suggestion the Glasgow clubs could be invited to join the PL! How will that work if they are relegated? But also would that hasten the demise of the four nations international teams in favour of a UK team? Whatever the outcome Swansea won’t benefit. | |

One of the few things rugby took from football and it worked, relegation.

Unfortunately the PL will do everything they can to preserve their own finances, whatever they might say about having the fans or football's interests at heart. Same with Sky, they're more concerned with the value of their product being diminished to advertisers and subscribers than "the spirit of football and competition" or whatever these presenters have been blathering on about. UEFA were already in the process of granting most of these clubs permanent access to CL football to keep them sweet. A knife in the back as a thank you lol.

This finishes the Premier League so taking extreme action may be the only thing they can do. They’ll then rely on fans creating such a fuss that the whole thing collapses. It’s their only chance if it happens.

It’s the resignation from the ECA which is the trigger I suspect? That’s already happened, hence talk of them kicking the clubs out immediately. Players will then have contracts with unaffiliated clubs. A wider question of course is whether those player contracts are then enforceable...
| Massive changes ahead for European football and the super league announcement on 17:56 - Apr 19 with 572 views | Groo | If they are going for an American franchise system, will they go the whole hog or do they see this as an opportunity to grasp at finances the US system don't allow. I believe there are caps in place in the US, also they don't have youth teams, the youth play in a very lucrative college system and the professional teams get to pick the players they want from this system each year, in order of how they finished the previous year, the worse team gets first pick etc. | |

My mate is a Manager over there now. He earns as much as half the squad put together. It's crazy.
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

EUFA saying they’ll boot the clubs out of European competitions on Friday. I’ll believe it when I see it. And government action and a fan led review on the German model. If it does happen and they bring the entire greed edifice down on their own heads, that would be sweet.

How exactly? Ok they're businesses, so they can hit them with windfall taxes but they can't stop them doing business. They can make it difficult for them to trade (play matches) but if there's enough money, they'll get around it... look at the money that will be coming in to a city like Manchester

| Massive changes ahead for European football and the super league announcement on 13:53 - Apr 19 by Dr_Winston | Now look at the disparity of TV revenue elsewhere. There are still six or seven big clubs in the PL Vs two or three precisely because of that distribution. It's not a perfect system, but immensely better than in Spain, or even Germany where Bayern have won eight on the bounce. |
How many big clubs does Germany have? I can't really criticise Bayern because A, they are not involved with this ESL B They sell tickets at vastly cheaper prices than the Premier league C having said they're not involved they have a lot to lose with the Champions league being made defunct. Whatever the tv disparity is elsewhere it doesn't affect me, what happens in the EPL has affected me. It's up to German fans to complain about their own structure.

| Massive changes ahead for European football and the super league announcement on 20:02 - Apr 19 with 443 views | Joe_bradshaw | I think Sky Sports have no self awareness. They started this greedy gravy train by their involvement in the breakaway Premier League 30 years ago. Neville and Carragher are ranting about greed (and I agree with them) on a channel that set the ball rolling and they are paid obscene amounts of money by them as a result. Isn’t this a natural progression from what they started 30 years ago? | |
