Everywhere is going to be rammed, hopefully I'm going to visit family in Bangor N Ireland, I've been promising to visit for years (but we like our sunshine holidays to much) so never quite got round to it, so now is an ideal time. Only decision is, do I take my car on the ferry, or fly and rent a car out there.

If you’re staying in the UK I’d be inclined to head East as the weather is normally dryer the further you go. If you have a week I’d head towards the Bournemouth or Poole areas, if your loaded you can stay in Sandbanks and maybe catch up with old Arry Redknapp. If you’ve got a bit more time you could push further east in to Norfolk, maybe the Broads which is between Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Latter is a bit of a dump, but there’s normally plenty going on to keep you and the little one busy. You could always chuck in a City break in Cambridge on the way to break up the journey.

Family Holiday on 21:38 - May 12 with 1668 views | Gwyn737 | When my one was that age we loved North Devon and in particular Croyde Big sandy beach with plenty of space even in the summer. Appledore near by is great for crabbing. Big Sheep centre for a good day out. Loads to do within 30 mins drive. Lots of family pubs with play areas in the gardens to keep little ‘uns occupied as well.

Family Holiday on 22:39 - May 12 with 1575 views | raynor94 | Butlins and Pontins, as i remember going as a child and as a parent in the 70s and 80s. Halcyon days. Sad to see what they have become. These days you can't beat Dorset, in the middle of everything

I am used to ferry mainly from west Wales over to Rosslare and then driving up to Donegal, would assume if you don't cross over from West Wales that you will be driving north to catch a ferry over.... Either way its a lot of driving. Never again for me! I will now always aim to fly over to knock and hire a car, going to Bangor then you would fly over to Belfast but I would certainly recommend fly and hire for sure.

Family Holiday on 07:36 - May 13 with 1431 views | Whiterockin | I think you will be amazed how difficult it is to book a holiday in this country in the summer, everywhere seems to be booking up fast. Try Jersey or Guernsey, going abroad but staying in this country if you know what I mean.
Family Holiday on 08:28 - May 13 with 1399 views | onehunglow | Thinking outside the box, consider this. Walks in heathland/beach/woods, or 20 mile cycling path from Seacombe to Hooton then get the train back to accomodation . Horse Riding everywhere Shopping in Liverpool via train Restaurants of all prices . Pubs from grotty townie poons to country thatched cottaged And you can see Wales everywhere, even drive into Wales for hill walking and quiet And friendly people ,like me. Google it

As far as i can tell the Isle of Man never seems to be high on the list for , well anything . I did go once and have to say enjoyed it but that was a few years ago now . Lovely scenery although the weather can be a bit iffy but a slower pace which is want I like on holiday.

Used to go for the TT ,which is sadly missed as of now. Have a cum in Bride ,right in the top corner. It's till 1957 there. Absolutely wonderful people. Water is freezing though but wet suits will save the chill. The Ferry can be a vomit bucket I have very happy memories of 1995,when Joey won his last Senior.I took my 12 yr old lad. On the ferry ,a very attractive pair of German ladies chatted to us and then simply lowered their leathers to reveal DD cups and tiny Thongs to sunbathe. My lad has never forgotten it.He grew up overnight
