Swansea City v Cardiff City : Matchday Thread 2021/22 AFTERMATH 16:09 - Oct 9 with 19723 views | NotLoyal | THIS FIXTURE HAS NOW SOLD OUT The Cardiff story started a generation ahead of the swans. However come the late 1990’s the tables turned somewhat and honours got very even. It really doesn’t matter regards your thoughts on this part of the derby rivalry, it happened, and it’s a part of the history of this fixture. The valleys were predominantly a Cardiff hot bed in the late 70’s, then with the success of the swans in 1980 onwards it became a split between the cultures of the day, skinheads and punks mainly. It made gigs that much more interesting. Swansea v Cardiff : A history of real hate ! 12th Oct 2021 11:00It’s fierce, it’s passionate, it’s heated and it comes with a history unrivalled by many other derby games in English football. The South Wales derby is still to see a winning double by either side in any one league season dating back to the first fixture in 1929. The game on Sunday once again see’s an opportunity for at least one of the clubs to give some hope that ‘this season’ will see that change. And the fans are the key to this huge game. 0 Three Swansea City match winners in a race against time 13th Oct 2021 07:58Olivier Ntcham, Michael Obafemi and Liam Walsh are all involved in a concerted effort to be fit for the South Wales derby against Cardiff City on Sunday. All three are battling to be involved in the biggest home game of the season at the Swansea.Com stadium. 0 Russell Martin gives Swansea City fans a huge boost for the derby game 14th Oct 2021 12:43Russell Martin faces what will be the biggest game of his short managerial career when the swans face up to Cardiff City at the Swansea.Com stadium on Sunday ( midday KO ) The away side still believe they hold all the aces, and many of their fans are predicting a heavy defeat for Swansea City. As of this morning Cardiff still had just under 200 tickets available for the game. 0 Our derby day newspaper FREE ! https://issuu.com/swanseaindependent/docs/swansea_independent_derby_day_issue Swansea City v Cardiff City : The Big Match Teams for today 17th Oct 2021 11:04As predicted both sides have gone with their strongest options for today’s south Wales derby. There’s no real surprises with on form strikers Joel Piroe and Kieffer Moore as the main dangermen in either attack. Michael Obafemi failed a fitness test this morning. 0 Official Programme download free. https://issuu.com/swanseacityafc/docs/swans-cardiff-21-22-programme-v01 Now that’s the way to shut up an entitled spoilt child.

Swansea City v Cardiff City : Matchday Thread 2021/22 FRIDAY UPDATE on 19:26 - Oct 16 with 1719 views | AndyCole | . I have a very good feeling about this game. We are playing the team with The very worst form over the last 5 matches in this league. Whereas we are on a relative roll in not losing our last game. On form alone we are firm favourites. Yet we are also firm favourites to win the possession stats, dominate the game, look pretty and get rave reviews. This all points to a strong home win, which our proper fans will be more than expecting. 3 - 1. Oba brace, Cabango. Cabango OG. Interestingly The form table is currently led by Cooper's storming, forming Forest. Exceeding expectations. Oh well, those times are now way behind us, but let's all hope Martin has been watching all of the tapes from the last two seasons and Cooper's remarkable tenure so far at storming in-form Forest. . .

Cooper was always going to do well. He was vastly underrated here, as much as Russ is now. I'm sure if some fans had their way he would have been gone already. We are playing great football, and the goals will come.

. Totally agree, re our fans here. The proper fans though overwhelmingly wanted Cooper to stay and kick on. Let's hope the same proper fans have the same faith in Martin, only time will tell. Time may well be accelerated tomorrow. We are playing good, confident possession football. It ain't great football for winning games, just yet. Obafemi could well be they key. Him and Walsh or Ntcham could be devastating. . .

I wouldn’t say he’s “as” underrated. Cooper was continually doubted despite continued success, it was pretty unfounded and his results spoke for themselves (and continue to do so). He has been a success everywhere he has been so his track record is exemplary. People are doubting Martin’s methods mainly because they haven’t really worked before and not working with us either. There isn’t really anything to rate and no back catalogue to show that it does. Playing great football means creating chances and not giving up many. Passing the ball around in non threatening areas and become far less creative than previously seen at this level in our history as a result of all the negative possession, doesn’t constitute “great football” in my book. It’s the sound bites and lack of learning that grates with me. I was reading an MK Dons match review of their loss to Accrington Stanley the other day. It’s all the same stuff:- “We've been the best team. I'll get criticised because I've said it too many times, but we were dominant. We weren't good enough in the final third for how many times we got there, but we've ended up losing." “We're so close to being a really good side at this level,” Martin said. These were all the terms used by Martin. Could have been taken and used seamlessly to any of our games. Truth is, MK Dons fans said “nearly there” never arrived. Was constantly flattering to deceive with possession dominance, few chances and a focus on what “may”. He doesn’t seem to understand that keeping the ball doesn’t mean you are dominant, the fact he can’t seem to figure out that keeping the ball and winning the game don’t go hand in hand unless you have the ball in dangerous areas is continuously frustrating. For Martin to be underrated then he needs to start achieving things. Winning games. Adapting what isn’t working, showing something other than an instruction to keep the ball - THEN he can put himself in a position to be underrated. At the moment he is simply rated in accordance to what he has delivered - which isn’t much. He finished 19th and 13th with MK Dons and is 19th with us. Now MK Dons have ditched the possession at all costs game, they are 6th. Cardiff are probably the worst team in the league at the moment, 10-1 in the oppositions favour over the last 3 games. We need to win this one for a variety of reasons.
