| Swansea City v Coventry City : Matchday Thread AFTERMATH 18:08 - Mar 2 with 9664 views | NotLoyal | It’s the big game of the day in Swansea that’s for sure. Many other championship clubs will also be playing big games as well. In their own towns at least. Mark Robins who once played with Bobby Charlton’s old team wants to go to the premier league. He is making a good go of it. Better than Batman who he also played with. Coventry City are on a mission for play off points at Swansea 3rd Mar 2022 09:00Saturdays Championship battle between Swansea City and Coventry City see’s two sides in similar form. Both have won three out of their last five games, Coventry losing once and the swans losing twice. Coventry visit SA1 in tenth place with a superior goals scored and goals conceded record this season, plus they are ten points ahead of their rivals. 0 Nathanael Getting Ogbeta 3rd Mar 2022 15:59See what we did there ? New swans signing Nathanael Ogbeta is back in light training after five weeks of disappointment rehabilitating from a hamstring pull. After ten minutes of his first Swansea training session he broke down and hasn’t been able to join in any physical team activity. However, the added value for Nathanael has been gaining an understanding of the Russell Martin way when it comes to training his Swansea players, both mentally and physically. 0 The key factors to a successful Swansea City Saturday 5th Mar 2022 07:21Today’s game against Coventry City is a winnable proposition for Russell Martin’s side. Yes there has to be that click that we all saw last Monday night at the Hawthorns, and it most certainly comes down to numerous key Swansea components coming together. And by that we mean the positivity of certain players to bring about attacking football. 0 Russell Martin demands the same again from Swansea City 5th Mar 2022 13:00This afternoons game from the swansea.com stadium has become something of a defining moment for Russell Martin this week. Not only does he want to see another top performance at home, after three months of poor form it will show clearly his ability to turn around and get his team going again. 0 Swansea City: Andy Fisher; Ben Cabango, Kyle Naughton, Ryan Manning; Flynn Downes, Matt Grimes (captain), Korey Smith, Cyrus Christie; Joel Piroe, Jamie Paterson; Michael Obafemi. Substitutes: Ben Hamer, Jay Fulton, Olivier Ntcham, Kyle Joseph, Joel Latibeaudiere, Finley Burns, Cameron Congreve. Coventry City: Simon Moore, Jake Clarke-Salter, Michael Rose, Kyle McFadzean (captain), Jamie Allen, Ben Sheaf, Viktor Gyokeres, Ian Maatsen, Todd Kane, Jake Bidwell, Gustavo Hamer. Substitutes: Ben Wilson, Jodi Jones, Martyn Waghorn, Josh Reid, Matty Godden, Fabio Tavares, Ryan Howley. Obafemi ‘Scores some goals for Swansea’ in another three goal home win 5th Mar 2022 17:30Swansea City again turned on the style to make it five goals in two games with Michael Obafemi shining in front of goal yet again. Okay, let’s make it sound better, that’s eight goals in three games for the swans. We have to put that Sheffield United game to the back of our minds. To see Swansea dominate a first half so calmly and to score two goals from well created chances will please supporters of the Jacks. Coventry haven’t won in Swansea since 1960, and that trend has continued. 0

No grumbles but there is always room to improve. Sort out the mentality of suicidal passing and we really could slaughter teams

Obafemi looked like he wanted to play from the off hustled all match and deserved his goals. Naughton was class again but Grimes was superb his engine is excellent and the passing today was superb, if Obafemi keeps making the runs players will find him. We did have some problems playing out or lack of concentration and Fisher saved us twice but we were in control for the most part. Now one issue i noticed was that in the second half they closed Ben down and pushed him inside this put us under pressure everytime.

Fisher deserves a lot of credit, I have doubted him but he seems to be finding his feet and confidence.

I think ive said it on here but how can you judge someone so quickly. I remember arguing on the way out of the match one day with fellow supporter who was really slagging off Mark Ghuhi. People say the same with grimes i think we could never afford to replace him. Im dissapointed the youngster didnt get on but i hope RM will play a few in the remaining games. Is Rushsha fit anyone, i really looked the like of him.

Have to give something a fair chance even if you have a concern at an early stage. Nice to see a young one on the bench, now is the chance to give a few a run out and gauge where they are in terms of being ready. I would expect a few more will get some involvement one way or another. Yep, Tez is fit and ready.

| Swansea City v Coventry City : Matchday Thread on 16:59 - Mar 5 by Dr_Parnassus | First game in a long, long while where I feel we played with tactical sense from start to finish. 53% possession 530 passes A shade under 15% long I would be thrilled if this was the approach we started to take going forward. Quick and direct with crisp passing. This is the exact way I want us playing as a fan. Full praise to manager and players, more of the same please. |
Excellent post. I think we would be better playing with this approach on Tuesday against Fulham. Great win

It takes time, huge pressure on him, that injury isn’t looking good though.

I thought the same, maybe it was just an experience of being part of the first team squad but agreed that the opportunity was there to put him in. Hopefully there will be a chance for a few more of the younger lads.

| Swansea City v Coventry City : Matchday Thread AFTERMATH on 19:19 - Mar 5 with 1092 views | Treforys_Jack | Happy with the 3pts but some of our passing at the back was terrible. Continually playing ourselves into trouble, we did it in the 3mins injury time in the first half, there's a time and a place for sending the ball long 1st time and reorganising. Our left hand side was wide open in the last 20mins. It's about putting the ball in the net and we did 3 times and they did just the once but they didn't half miss some very good chances, usually from us overplaying. Grimes and Naughton were outstanding fair play. | | | |

| Swansea City v Coventry City : Matchday Thread AFTERMATH on 20:01 - Mar 5 with 997 views | Badlands | Like the grave after we went three up. Poor support. Manning hd one of his nightmare games, Christie wasn’t with It all and Naughton made some howlers too. Fisher three game saving saves and Grimes was good. Smith had abetter game than for some time. Decent ref and linos. Their only chances came from giving the ball away in midfield. 3 goals 3 points. | |

We're absolutely safe now, no question about it. No extra prize money for finishing 11th compared to 15th. Why not make a commitment that a previously unused (not Cabango for example) academy product has minutes in every game from now on in? Just an idea

If you’ve been critical of Grimes then it has been with some justification. He and the whole team have up until recently been very negative. But now they seem to get the ball forward more and most importantly, quickly. A vast improvement. Still lots of things to work on but certainly edging forward now.

Nice to see the lad (Congreave) within the squad he's certainly getting good reviews within the Academy , he's still 18 so whether Russell couldn't trust him today who knows but keep plugging away and he'll get his chance soon enough
