Superb quicker tempo football at times today, our first goal was exceptional straight out of the RM playbook on my feet before it hit the net. Obafemi looked like he wanted to play from the off hustled all match and deserved his goals. Naughton was class again but Grimes was superb his engine is excellent and the passing today was superb, if Obafemi keeps making the runs players will find him. We did have some problems playing out or lack of concentration and Fisher saved us twice but we were in control for the most part. Now one issue i noticed was that in the second half they closed Ben down and pushed him inside this put us under pressure everytime. |  | | |

Have to give something a fair chance even if you have a concern at an early stage.
Nice to see a young one on the bench, now is the chance to give a few a run out and gauge where they are in terms of being ready. I would expect a few more will get some involvement one way or another.

Thought he had a decent game on Monday and today he was excellent.

Happy with the 3pts but some of our passing at the back was terrible. Continually playing ourselves into trouble, we did it in the 3mins injury time in the first half, there's a time and a place for sending the ball long 1st time and reorganising. Our left hand side was wide open in the last 20mins. It's about putting the ball in the net and we did 3 times and they did just the once but they didn't half miss some very good chances, usually from us overplaying. Manning hd one of his nightmare games, Christie wasn’t with It all and Naughton made some howlers too.
Fisher three game saving saves and Grimes was good.
Smith had abetter game than for some time.

We're absolutely safe now, no question about it. No extra prize money for finishing 11th compared to 15th.
Why not make a commitment that a previously unused (not Cabango for example) academy product has minutes in every game from now on in?

If you’ve been critical of Grimes then it has been with some justification. He and the whole team have up until recently been very negative. But now they seem to get the ball forward more and most importantly, quickly. A vast improvement.
Still lots of things to work on but certainly edging forward now. | |

Nice to see the lad (Congreave) within the squad he's certainly getting good reviews within the Academy , he's still 18 so whether Russell couldn't trust him today who knows but keep plugging away and he'll get his chance soon enough | |
