The Royal PR machine keeps going.... 08:18 - Sep 17 with 5290 views1983

More royal pomp fairplay they really are keeping their sh1t together like frightened rich people and faith leaders ramming it down our throats telling us we would be lost without them all those 1,000's of people walking past a box with nobody inside, all the other hangers on watching Charlie standing there with their fingers crossed brilliant to see Tindal look at his watch after being there for 5 minutes wondering when it was going to end lol. This will keep them in good stead for at least another couple of 100 years and we haven't had the funeral yet.

Not bad for a couple of small islands in the North Atlantic. We punch well above our weight on the world stage.

The memorials on the floor on Westminster abbey. They walked over churchills and all the others but carried the coffin around the unknown soldier.

the unknown soldier is an actual grave, Churchill is buried near Blenheim Palace, not sure if the others are graves. They always do walk around the soldier. In weddings, they lay red carpet down the aisle but not over his grave.

This was from W+K wedding

Yes I’ve just looked it up there’s loads of graves and tombs (over 3000 people buried in Westminster Abbey) but the unknown soldier is the only one that it is forbidden to walk on.

They had a sporting tribute earlier on Radio 5. Never mentioned Scotland, Wales or N.Ireland.
I can understand why people are at times negative by the media coverage and monarchy itself. It’s disappointing that it’s England’s day.

Exactly. A bit of ceremony and flag waving is all well and good but a million miles away from the working class and the problems coming this winter.

I will say that it's a stupid rule that prevented the only two people walking behind the coffin who had actually seen combat from wearing military uniform should they have chosen to do so.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Got to be honest, as a declared anto Monarchist I hadn't seen any of it until the 10pm news but sat here watching it I feel the sadness.

The watching crowds were immaculate, the pomp and circumstance was incredible and watching the King, he seemed very close to tears which is understandable obviously.

Is it counter intuitive for me to feel so much respect and admiration for our departed Monarch? Politicians come and go and we hardly notice the difference but with Queen Elizabeths passing it really feels like the world has changed.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

I’m not sure that fighting off the advances of Kevin Spacey on epsteins island counts as seeing combat.

Just a bit of satirical nonsense to mock the good friend of the paedophile slash sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He’s too old for Kevin Spacey anyway.

Understood, I'm no way condoning what he's "alleged" to have done nor the company he kept , but I'm guessing being stripped of nearly all honours then having to be in the glare of the public for so long must have had more than a passing effect on him .Regarding the Falklands that took some nerve to do what he did all the same .

In fairness the crowds were so dense along the Mall and Whitehall a lot of the people you would have seen holding up their phones would have been using them as a makeshift periscope, it was the only way for many to get any sort of view of the procession at all, Jim.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

Can I ask, why did you go ?, did you make a special journey to London to see the Queens coffin ?
