Swansea City warn the fans again on behaviour 11:22 - Oct 27 with 6777 viewsKeithHaynes

OS

Swansea City wishes to remind supporters that it has a zero-tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour on our official coaches for away matches.

The club has seen a rise in incidents since the start of the season, with supporters coming forward to raise complaints relating to behaviour, discriminatory chanting and abuse of those supplying the service.

This behaviour affects the enjoyment for many other supporters using the service and, whilst the club has issued several warnings and bans, we will continue to work with the Supporters’ Trust on these matters.

The club is working with Turners — our official coach travel service — to now provide stadium personnel and stewards on our coaches for the next three away games, starting with Saturday’s trip to Bristol City.

Every adult travelling on these coaches must have a form of ID on them and be able to show a valid match ticket if requested.

If behaviour on these services fails to improve and incidents continue to occur then Turners have already informed the club that they would have no hesitation in ceasing the service, which would have a detrimental impact for a lot of our supporters and, in turn, affect the numbers of supporters who travel away.

The support given to Russell Martin, his staff and the players this season has been nothing short of incredible, and the club recognises and thanks the vast majority of supporters to continue to impeccably represent our football club and community home and away.

The club wants to ensure that everyone who travels via the coach service has an enjoyable experience and gives the team the backing they deserve.

But anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.

Again, the context is different. The welsh v English ‘banter’ is taken by the overwhelming majority of fans as being just that. I find both welsh and English ‘banter ‘ and tiresome and never join in the anti English nonsense (including that stupid ‘footballs coming home…they did get to the final ). It is something that both fans give back and forth and there is no malice or racism intended, it’s a pathetic chant.

What you are suggesting is entirely different.

Again, outside the context of well known phrases in a football game is different.

This is what the law is, it’s not an opinion. It’s what the law would say and what the cps would prosecute. The welsh v English stuff would not be in the public interest to take to court. Without that, you can’t charge.

Great post.

This is 100% correct, and you don't need a court case or any Law qualifications to come to that conclusion, just basic COMMON sense, PATHETIC indeed.

But who gets to judge context in the public domain, that’s where most of these things are determined as racist or banter - not in court.

So what is the criteria?

Resolven is clearly offended by the remarks and is telling people openly that he is offended and feels victimised by this chanting.

What if those chanting stuff in jest at the Indian teams fans also say it’s just banter and only messing around? What if only some of the Indian fans are offended with the majority not minding it.

Is that fine then?

For example people disapproving of the knee have said why and provided the context, yet many are still happy to say that is racist. It seems some apply racism as and when it suits, but won’t hold that same standard consistently.

Essentially if you are largely white then you are fair game to be victimised, that is what it boils down to really. “Jest” and “banter” certainly won’t cover it if the exact same scenario is applied to anyone else.

Historians will tell you every single race under the sun has been persecuted in history, so I don’t buy “history” as the reasoning either.

Society is largely stupid unfortunately with absolutely no grasp on history, only what they are told history is. People still probably think white people invented slavery and only existed when Europeans brought them to America.

The racial knowledge of the loudest voices in setting what is right and wrong in this race sensitive time seems to be among the lowest in society. It’s an incredible irony.

I'd argue that watching live football isn't for resolven then, as its been part of the game for many many years.

But use that excuse for any other origin based chanting in football and you would be called the worst kind of racist bigot.

I have very little time for our friend from Resolven as many may well have noticed, but I think he’s correct on this. It’s an awful double standard.

Whether most people being abused regarding their origin don’t mind it or not, should not be a reason to make it permissible.

What if Marcus Rashford said he didn’t mind people making fun of his skin tone. Would it be okay then?

It may not be in the public interest in Bulgaria to take Bulgarians to court for abusing some foreign football of African origins. Lets face it there are not many Africans in Plovdiv. This is why people should not live their lives exclusively according to the views of lawyers and UK law, The law is an ass on occasions and 4000 dim Welshmen (and Women) "owning it" are not always right.

At present the Police and security staff had taken to court people for using this filthy abuse against themselves. I want the same protection and knowledge that if I made a 'citizens arrest' (in the public interest) I would get the backing by the courts.

Swansea city will ban fans for what they feel is offensive. ZERO rule. I am expecting the club to stop games and warn both home and away fans against porno racist filth. It belongs in boozy night comedy shows not the family stand.

The law went after a 15 year old kid from Dartford doing a dawn raid on his house for abusing Dhanda. He did not put up much resistance. 2500 Millwall fans accusing Welsh people with fifthy innuendo get given some slack. Is this the "public interest " or the policing interest.?

I am expecting to see games suspended over this chanting. Zero means zero. Time to clean up your act folks.

Ain't it great when you get to that stage of life when your mind has not only expanded to realise the risks and futility of it all, but also having testosterone levels that are in your socks after the 1% a year decline you get every year after 30 years of age

.....And when your only "intent of harm" is directed towards slugs that eat all your strawberies and kidney beans and even then you're become too half arsed and laid back to make a trip to 'Home Bargains' to buy something to actually do something about it!

Talking about animals.

Last week in Swansea Magistrates Court, a young man was fined £1000 for making love to a goat 🐐 in Wind Street.

A young lady was in the dock next, and she was fined £2500 - for "acting the goat 🐐 in Wind Street"

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

White Europeans were responsible for the vast numbers of enslaved people never before known and were also the most likely to work their slaves to death.
A Roman slave who was not a criminal had rights, often free to live away from the owner, practiced their own religion, earned money and could buy their freedom or be released from slaavery after a certain time.

It’s just my opinion but I think for something to be racist or offensive it has to have genuine malice behind it. The singing at the football is nearly always done in quite a jovial spirit. Nobody is genuinely being accused of making love to farmyard animals. The pope didn’t tell Cardiff City to f*ck off to my knowledge at least and if Cabango even attempted to header a brick being thrown at him his head would be cleft in twain.

It’s just silly nonsense and obviously so.

As the Guardian said in one of their articles accusations of bestially it pretty much top of the shop in terms of insults. It is as bad as it gets.

I am not referring to using the words of "people of colour" in the wrong order. One guy had to resign for that,

Insults is one thing racism is massively different, look it up.

If one thug or another got in your face and called you a sheep etc that is in a totally different context and myself and many other's would defend you .

But an opposition teams fans chanting is a totally different concept .

The Bulgarian fans abusing Raheem Stirling had no malice. Many were laughing and joking and drinking beer. A grown man making monkey or sheep noises is seen as comic in many quarters. You have done it yourself in print. Bah bah etc. It got a couple of likes.

Raheem was pretty upset as was UEFA man and SkySports. Sky was not too upset at the darts. It just turned the microphone down to not upset the viewers when Gerwyn was being given the bah bah treatment. Like you they make excuses for home grown racists.

The zero tolerance policy at Swansea city is a local rules not necessarily enforceable by UK law, Is it just PR? We will find out.
