How have England got such an easy draw on paper yet again in this World Cup ?
Before looking at the draw I thought they won't get past both Brazil and Argentina but it looks likely that Brazil and Argentina are going to be in a different half of the draw and destined to play each other in the semis, so any potential winner from the other half won't have to play the both of them (unless one of Brazil/Argentina don't win their group and perhaps they would be not that good anyway in that scenario).
Brazil might be deemed to be better overhaul than Argentina but possibly not head to head versus Argentina (didn't Argentina beat Brazil in the last Copa America ) so if Argentina get past Brazil in the semis then there is as much chance of an Argentina v England as there is of any other possible finals.
Iran, USA and Wales in the group for one of the 'big teams' in the form of England means they couldn't ask for better draw than that, then the possible easiest last 16 tie for them (possibly Senegal from Africa) then a potential Quarter final against France, France seem to be on the way down they lost 2-0 to Denmark last time out, they have injuries to their top players like Benzema and Pogba then England would have on paper a possible semi final against ageing Belgium.
England couldn't hand pick a better draw if they tried.

Now just imagine if any other poster had posted that about England.
With the exception of Mountbatten which I believe you're going to provide evidence that he was what you "suggested" , than are any of OHL points untrue ?

Well its pretty unfair to throw stones at a country that had one million people starve to death due to the direct actions/inactions of the uk government. You can add another one million who fled Ireland due to the same uk govt mismanaged famine.
I condemn any and all abuses of power. Don’t you ?
Worth remembering that the uk governed Ireland until 1921. The David Lloyd George partition of Ireland has caused much suffering on all sides since. Save the last 20 years.
There will be a united Ireland within 5 years.
I am not sure why i need to explain all this to you.
As regards Mountbatten, whats your explanation then ? Dont you think its all a bit strange ?

There are, and mostly always have been, posters simply not worthy of respect. Forum equivalents of cockroaches or a wasp infestation. Better removed than indulged.
I've never managed to get my head around how tolerant board owners/admin can be of those who add nothing but aggro, and could just be dealt with.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I moderated in these parts for years when PS was in charge.
The key thing is to not give a f*ck when you get criticised. It's a privately owned and operated message board. If they don't like it, there are other options. This isn't a democracy.

I don’t care what people think. My point is whatever we do it’s not right.
People need to report posts as I’ve said, then we will look at them.
I’ve banned people and I’ll do it again.

I’m so glad that you conceded to the fact that the irish famine was due to not deliberate acts but ones which were out of ignorance and bad timing , just because of that tragic event doesn’t absolve Ireland’s political and religious hierarchy of its sins Please don’t try to deflect what you posted regarding Mountbatten onto me , I wasn’t the one who insinuated that he was committing offences , you did which even for you was pretty sick

Since when have famines been the fault of governments. They are due to rain shortages, over population or people relying on a single crop that fails. Makes you wonder why everyone was growing a non native crop in Ireland.

Many times I would suggest. Usually as a result of starting a war with a neighbour. There was a famine in the Netherlands as a result of the invasion by the German Nazi Government in 1940s.
No doubt there are other numerous examples that needs a bit of research. You comment is a bit crass.

"What caused the 1980s Ethiopia famine? A perfect storm of adverse events led to the Ethiopia famine: recurring drought, failed harvests, food scarcity, conflict that kept aid from reaching people in occupied territory, and government policies that relocated families and routed relief to certain areas" Another example of government policies adding to natural causes to worsen a human tragedy

Did the British cause the Irish Potato Famine? The Irish potato famine was not simply a natural disaster. It was a product of social causes. Under British rule, Irish Catholics were prohibited from entering the professions or even purchasing land. Instead, many rented small plots of land from absentee British Protestant landlords. Making sweeping statements about a human tragedy aided and abetted by a dictatorial British government of the time is an insult to the innocent Irish people who either died or were forced to abandon their homeland

Please read and educate yourself.
‘During the extended famine of 1845-51. British Prime Minister Robert Peel dismissed the first reports of the potato crop failure as typical Irish exaggeration. When he finally accepted the grim reality of the famine, he repealed taxes on grain imports to lower the price of bread, never understanding that those at risk of starvation in Ireland couldn't afford bread at any price.
Peel's actions and the many inactions to follow made things worse. Hundreds of thousands died needlessly because of British economic dogmas requiring minimum interference with the forces of supply and demand and insistence that government charity not undermine private initiatives nor interfere with private enterprise. It was a dogma that saw Lord Brougham declare in the House of Lords that the rights of property take priority over the rights of Irish tenants to survive.
Given that political cover, greedy Irish landlords exported food raised and processed in Ireland to stable markets in England and France, instead of using it to feed their starving tenants.
It was a myopic, laissez faire approach that saw starving wretches herded into workhouses to earn pittance wages too low to buy food at free-market prices inflated by scarcity. Public works projects killed workers weakened by hunger while providing Ireland with roads to nowhere and piers along coastlines too rugged to accommodate shipping.
Above all, perhaps, it was an approach that galvanized anti-British sentiment among the Irish and an Anglo-phobia that persists into the 21st century. And why would it not? In 1848, Whig economist Nassau Senior expressed his disappointment that the famine that year would reduce the surplus Irish population by only a million souls. To many Whigs, including Charles Edward Trevelyan, the British bureaucrat in charge of Irish famine relief, the famine was seen as divine intervention worthy of a wicked, indolent, ignorant and perverse people.’
Now the stories are coming out, the legendary GOAT referee Pierluigi Collina is head honcho in charge of refs at the World Cup or something and apparently he caught the English cheating in World Cup qualifying, he showed a video of England cheating at a corner to refs, one England player taking out an opposing player to alway Maguire a free header, clearly they tried something similar against Iran, one English bloke dived and Maguire who was grappling with his marker went down over the English bloke on the floor although he was on his way down anyway.
Southgate is now crying that this has been pointed out to the refs you can't make it up, same old England.

The problem is the English press and media whether it be football, rugby or cricket they are biased at best, lie at worst. It's been like it for decades, they tell the plebs that England have been robbed and then the plebs riot (those English sports reporter's have blood on their hands), when 99% of the time it's not true.

Well well well it is Senegal next for England but they are without Sadio Mané and now Idrissa Gueye, you just can't write it, they are still on course to meet France in the quarters but France have now lost another player in Lucas Hernandez to go alongside Pogba, Kante and Benzema you just couldn't make it up, semis on ranking was due to be Belgium but they have been hopeless so far, I've never now a country to continually get such favourable draws.

Really does it mean that much to you. Personally I don't give a flying fig! Far more important things to worry and obsess about.
