Coventry City v Swansea City 2022/23 : Matchday Thread 21:04 - Dec 12 with 17355 viewsNotLoyal

Swansea City go in search of their first win since beating Cardiff City (again)

The Referee for this game is Robert Jones from Liverpool, so the players had better calm down. Sorry but it’s the best we can do. Jones will be assisted by Ian Hussin and Natalie Aspinall, with Darren Bond the fourth Official for the game. Bond had lost his magical powers since he had his hair cut. Over the last 12 months Robert Jones has refereed 29 games, comprising 9 Championship games, 16 Premier League games, 1 Club Friendlies 1 game, 2 FA Cup games and 1 EFL Cup game. In addition he has been the Fourth Official 102 times. During this period he has issued 77 yellow cards at a rate of 2.66 per game and 2 red cards at a rate of 0.07 per game.

Joe Allen fit for Coventry but Obafemi continues to be a timely mystery 16th Dec 2022 14:30
Joe Allen is fit to face Coventry City tomorrow afternoon in the first Sky Bet Championship away game for the swans since drawing against Huddersfield Town five weeks ago. In that time two victories on a short tour of Scotland for the swans gave some hope before last weeks disappointing home loss to Norwich City. 0

Coventry City not wary of Swansea at any level 17th Dec 2022 08:00
You can understand why Mark Robins and his Coventry City side are in no way apprehensive about this afternoons game against Swansea City. The sky blues are on a run of decent form and the swans really do need a win by any means necessary to get their season back on track. 0

Jekyll & Hyde Swansea City but it’s still really not working … 18th Dec 2022 08:00
Yesterday afternoons game may well have been thrilling for the neutral, and let’s be honest over the ninety minutes of football a win for the swans wouldn’t have been a surprise. Unless of course you refer to the three blinding saves in the first half from Steven Benda, the poor selection choices at the start from Russell Martin or indeed the sleepiness we again witnessed at the turnaround which put the swans 2-0 down. 0

It’s definitely recorded somewhere.

Lets hope we can get to half time only 1 nil down, maybe Russ will make the player changes that we should have started with.

Cooper, Allen and Pele required.

We are not going anywhere under Russell, we are at critical point now to stick or twist, if we stick you can write off this season.

Even when you know, you never know?

The obvious ball isn’t evident even though it’s obvious, it’s too slow and pedestrian and Coventry’s attack is far quicker and incisive. I’ll reserve judgement until the game ends.

How many games to you need, it's been slow and pedestrian for a season and a half now.

Indeed.

Missed the first 10 mins but what I have seen they are all over us.

We have 72% possession though.

Ah they have deservedly just scored.

Without any hint of sarcasm at all which annoyed me.

Wyndham does my head in to be fair. He’s over positive and doesn’t know much seeing he’s been a professional footballer. His views on Grimes astounds me.

Poor first half, lucky not to be 3 down. Totally toothless in attack.

He's a fraud and a charlatan. We'll finish with a stronger 11 on the pitch probably and he'll point to how strongly we finished the game. What will be the excuse today do you reckon?
Hopefully we'll turn it around but that, even as good as it would be is just papering over some pretty hefty cracks.

I respect the man as a player but nowadays I cringe at some of his comments , harmless but sometimes annoying

If we carry on and lose to them - they will move above us in the table - which I think is an awful indictment to be laid against our management. Coventry City!!!
