Coventry City v Swansea City 2022/23 : Matchday Thread 21:04 - Dec 12 with 17358 viewsNotLoyal

Swansea City go in search of their first win since beating Cardiff City (again)

The Referee for this game is Robert Jones from Liverpool, so the players had better calm down. Sorry but it’s the best we can do. Jones will be assisted by Ian Hussin and Natalie Aspinall, with Darren Bond the fourth Official for the game. Bond had lost his magical powers since he had his hair cut. Over the last 12 months Robert Jones has refereed 29 games, comprising 9 Championship games, 16 Premier League games, 1 Club Friendlies 1 game, 2 FA Cup games and 1 EFL Cup game. In addition he has been the Fourth Official 102 times. During this period he has issued 77 yellow cards at a rate of 2.66 per game and 2 red cards at a rate of 0.07 per game.

Joe Allen fit for Coventry but Obafemi continues to be a timely mystery 16th Dec 2022 14:30
Joe Allen is fit to face Coventry City tomorrow afternoon in the first Sky Bet Championship away game for the swans since drawing against Huddersfield Town five weeks ago. In that time two victories on a short tour of Scotland for the swans gave some hope before last weeks disappointing home loss to Norwich City. 0

Coventry City not wary of Swansea at any level 17th Dec 2022 08:00
You can understand why Mark Robins and his Coventry City side are in no way apprehensive about this afternoons game against Swansea City. The sky blues are on a run of decent form and the swans really do need a win by any means necessary to get their season back on track. 0

Jekyll & Hyde Swansea City but it’s still really not working … 18th Dec 2022 08:00
Yesterday afternoons game may well have been thrilling for the neutral, and let’s be honest over the ninety minutes of football a win for the swans wouldn’t have been a surprise. Unless of course you refer to the three blinding saves in the first half from Steven Benda, the poor selection choices at the start from Russell Martin or indeed the sleepiness we again witnessed at the turnaround which put the swans 2-0 down. 0

I’ve backed him all the way, but, he’s done.

I've never understood all the backing he has received from you and many others. Nice personable man he maybe but he is totally lacking of a football brain, he just does not understand the game from which he takes his living.

I backed him until last Xmas, waiting for the process to materialise, but it was obvious to me, he was too stubborn to change.
Why the hell didn't he make changes at halftime. Listening to Gabbidon on radio Wales and he said at half time he was mystified as to RM's tactics and felt sorry for the players. He also said if RM doesn't He change things at halftime, Coventry will soon be out of sight. Hemaybe a scummer but like him as a pundit and certainly called this spot on.

I don’t know really, to me, what he was saying, made sense, but nothing has changed, he can’t adapt, constantly quotes stats, saying how good we are, but blimey, it’s absolute nonsense. Players are to blame also, really can’t see an effort.

The website can only report the news and then try and see the positives. However, if anyone reflects back on our reports and articles they will easily see our frustration too, but they don’t contain name calling, abusive posts ( fraud, liar, clown etc ) because that is pointless ( nit aimed at you specifically ) We have a duty to the wider Swansea supporting public, but please look back on the last six weeks.

He is a good coach, but as a manager this season has revealed many flaws in his plan. If he had the players it may well be a different story, but this isn’t working, however, some would say it’s only two games in from the restart.

As we said in the week, his saviour is Jake Silverstein, without him he will be gone in a few weeks.

We can’t just concentrate on the negatives, but this match report will put forward a few home truths. Like the last few weeks have done.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

‘Something not quite right’ is an odd thing to say. His strategy is not working and we need to get rid of him. You have to give someone a chance which we have.

Well,it sums up surely what many feel.
Recall and reflect on the spats with players, the endless sound bites, the stick with my process, the utter forlorn nature of many of our players on the field.

This is time,THE time to see him off.

RM is all smoke and mirrors and worse of all is that he'll happily throw his young players under the Bus.

He'll stay and part or all his coaching staff will be given the tin tack, the thing is the coaches can say what they want, but ultimately it is down to him to have the final say.
