Ipswich Town v Swansea City : Swans with decisions to make 26th Feb 2026 16:45 Swansea City visit Ipswich Town on Saturday with the majority of people already putting this clash down as a home win. That may well be the case but the Swans are not exactly playing badly with their last two away games resulting in a win and a loss.0
Tractor Boys v The Swans : Beware of results that went before 27th Feb 2026 19:18 Ipswich Town followers are very confident of getting the three points come the end of tomorrow’s game against Swansea City at Portman Road. As we mentioned yesterday this is very much the case, the Swans are the underdogs and are even unfancied for a draw.0
Ipswich Town v Swansea City : Match day on the Indy & team news 28th Feb 2026 10:36 It’s match day on the Indy as we take the run up to today’s fixture at Portman Road between Ipswich Town and Swansea City. We will also carry team news and latest on this game.0
Ipswich 3 Swansea City 0 : What a shocking mess ! 28th Feb 2026 18:11 Two defensive errors and Swansea players still in their sleeping bags at the start of this fixture lost any chance of taking anything from this game. Referee, Anthony Backhouse added his usual mismanagement of a Swans game which we mentioned pre match, and all together it was an another sleepwalk back to the days of Russell Martin.1
@GwynStato on X Officials REFEREE: ANTHONY BACKHOUSE: Has been Referee 4 times & 4th official once at the Stadium ASSISTANT: MARK STEVENS : Has been an Assistant 3 times at the Stadium ASSISTANT: MARK SCHOLES : Has an Assistant 11 times at the Stadium 4th OFFICIAL: TOM REEVES: Has been Referee once & 4th official 6 times at the Stadium
Indy : Say what you like but this referee continually involves himself in drama of his own making when officiating Swansea City. It isn’t just the Swans. We have been citing this for three seasons. Penalties waved away that have been so blatant, overall command of the game being poor as he gradually makes the game about him instead of the enjoyment of the match in question. How he still gets Championship games is open to debate.

Hopefully the last 8 days have been a dose of realism for those who make the decisions at the club, they should be able to judge where we are inline with where they expect us to be or behind.
Bristol City, could have gone either way and we were possibly lucky to win. Preston, hammered in the first half and could have been 3 down but fought back to get a draw. Ipswich well beaten and lacking in so many areas against a better team.
Take the loan players out of there and do we have the nucleus ouf a good side to work with I don't think so, plus throw in if Galbraith and Vipotnik leave we will have a shed load of money but back to square one.
All purely my opinion, possibly others don't think the same.
That would depend on how we spend the money. We’d have to replace our two most effective players and bring in players who can share the goal burden. It’s not acceptable that Cullen is our second top scorer with 4, we should have a couple of players pushing for 10 by now.
I think it’s quite possible with the amount of money we are likely to get though. We won’t be buying £15m players, but a few well scouted £5m players could make a big difference.
Walta could be one of them, he has looked way out of his depth so far to me, but the club clearly rate him very highly. Is he going to open up defences and chip in with a decent goal return himself next season?
I think we need to chance our arm with another year on loan for Yalcouye. He’s improved a lot, but he’s nowhere near PL level. I’d expect Brighton will either be looking to sell or loan again.
If Galbraith is going to go, we need to get him into midfield now. I don’t think playoffs or relegation are going to happen. We need to get him into a position that maximises his value in the summer.

I am confident we will secure championship football soon enough Tymon had a shocker today and we'll on Tuesday as well, but he has improved his defending and is the best with assists, so gets a free pass from me.
Ronald for me though I want him to improve is just not good enough. Eom has potential, and I just don't know.
The problem is, if we get rid of Ronald and Eom, we are gonna have to really get 2 players who can hit the ground running. We have not been blessed with our Wingers for a while and though I am not advocating the devil you know, I fear we get rid of the rubbish to only bring even worse.
That aside, I do hope Matos isn't encouraging backwards play, something that has been creeping back into the team recently.
Matey Look Rom and Ronald have had more than enough chances Both ultimately fail Both ineffective O worry about Galbraith who is clearly going backwards He is no full back and his shooting is appalling He’s a great talent Stamenic is a class player though not loved by all and is now ponderous when he could be vibrant
I will repeat … we are only not in bottom 4 due to VIP and Vig Any other player wouldn’t be missed
Anyway , at least no rugby tonight to make it worse

I won't lie. I'm not advocating in anyway Matos to go... That would be mad ... But he has to get a hold of this team and our recent performances. I would love the question why we are playing more like a Sheehan/Williams/Martin team recently - Slow and Labored. His starting 11 for me has been questionable for a few games even if rotation is needed, and individual players are letting him down. But he has to try and fix even if it's temporary the RB issue. It was an issue with Key and now it's an area every team targets. I enjoy and appreciate alot of what Matos has brought to the club and he deserves time and a transfer window, but the Basics are lacking at times, is it tactics or individual players? I'm no expert, but Matos has to work this one out. A win next Saturday at home will be a good start.

Good post Matos seems vibrant but our team doesn’t It’s very incongruous Matos seems dynamic Team isnt We can’t start without VIP and that’s why a striker was essential this window , as was a right back
We’ve never come to terms with this Other teams target our right side for a reason We are predictable

The defending today was pathetic the 3 they scored were totally embarrassing to see with players ball watching or asleep, definitely the worst performance under Matos who has to sort it out And also stop the slow ponderous ,pointless passing sideways and back while the opposition wait for us to give the ball away and attack with speed and score Zan has to start every game ,just to give us some chance, without him it’s pointless playing wingers to put crosses in ,Cullen isn’t a target man or even a 9 ,he scored a nice goal on Tuesday but some on here talking like 1 good header has turned him into Shearer ,he’s not , he’s an impact sub at best We won’t win games playing like that and we’ve still got some big games coming up

One thing we can probably all agree on is we should have signed a striker on loan in January.
Vipotnik is doing less in games now because we’re trying to conserve his energy. When Idah was on the bench he was able to play flat out until he was knackered. Now he pretty much stays in the central channel and we see Franco sprinting past him to pressure the keeper. Not because he doesn’t want to do it, but because Matos is trying to keep him on the pitch as long as possible.
Then we get the odd game like yesterday where Cullen starts and we don’t really have a focal point up front.
Before people say Bobby Wales, if Matos rates him behind Cullen as a striker, then he’s in the right place at the moment, as long as he’s playing games. Hopefully he’ll come back here Championship ready next season. We should have loaned a striker that Matos would play ahead of Cullen.
Re. Cullens header v Preston - if he’s going to score goals like that, he’s going to do it when Vipotnik is in the box worrying defenders. If Cullen is the main striker, it’s much harder for him to find gaps and he gets marked out of crosses like that.

I’ve turned it off now. Appalling.
We’ve reverted to bad habits, passing around the back with absolutely no purpose and having absolutely no strategy to cut through the midfield. We end up losing patience and booting it up field and lose out just about every time.
Galbraith has gone backwards. Every ball he receive he turned back towards his goal. Also players receiving the ball facing their goal so can only pass back. Where is this driving forward play that Matos said he’d bring.
Our loans but especially Yalcouye is full of energy but he in particular tries to do it all alone rather than be part of a team. But if they haven’t trained that way you can’t blame him.
I’m taking nothing away from Ipswich though who are excellent. They have pace, ability as a team and ability as individuals. Great combination.
We won’t go down but any thoughts of a top half finish is foolish. We are not good enough.
I stuck it for 80 minutes then popped out for a beer, enough was enough.

We haven't been good enough all season Uni if we're honest, we're a 10th -16th Championship team worse even when are complacent which we can be.

The defence has been a problem all season. The right back situation should have been addressed in January. We signed that Palace bloke but he has hardly had a kick. The two CBs are not good enough for the next level. By that I mean challenging for promotion. We rely heavily on Vipotnik for goals, but our next highest goalscorer is Cullen with four, then Ronald with three. Both have played a combined total of 62 league games. That is not good enough.

Yes and it’s not negative to state that nor to try to educate those who simply cannot post the truth as it makes them look naysayers Key cannot really start , even Matos sees that Tymon can cross but is a woeful defender , his main job Cabango is a good lad but erratic and prone to lapses as is Burgess We needed a striker of some quality and failed We needed a right back and signed a very nice but past it Ward No club is safe until mathematics says so Leicester , Baggies Blackburn , Pompey are the ones we are looking to fail

I thought we should have played Kaelan Casey more when he was here . Looked a decent player , he would still have been here if we had .

Well, as much as your contributions are welcome, and always have been it’s disappointing to hear this. Of course other options are available, for now at least. It amazes me though why our cause is so often lost in these personal discussions.
In fact it’s pretty upsetting.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Our biggest problem at the moment is that we are not creating chances. Our XG week in week out reflects this. Our wingers are not delivering. Nunes disappointing for me. We need to sign a decent winger in the summer

This is a fair point about Casey. I feel for Samuels-Smith in the squad every week and doesn't get on the pitch. Tymon was poor yesterday and when we went 3-0 down and made changes I felt he could have had 15 minutes. I understand loans are all about development but yesterday the game was gone and the perfect opportunity to give him a game.

Agreed SS should have had a decent run and he hadn’t Tymon is a very poor defender Matos has a full week to plan for Stoke
