Poor result. Played ok (ISH) but need to improve significantly if we want to be up there with the best sides in the championship this year.
I thought we looked a little lethargic and unorganised particularly in the second half. Felt like a pre-season friendly not a cup match.
I'll give them a free pass on this week as some new boys are still gelling and finding fitness, but next week needs to be a step up to get anything out of the game.
First half was great ,fast flowing attacking football, fast counter attacking, the only thing missing was the goal our bright play deserved I said to the bloke in front of me ‘ this is more like it , could get used to this , none of that sideways and back boring ambitionless crap we’ve served up the last few years’
When will I learn to keep my gob shut !!!
Second half…….boring sideways and back ambitionless football we’ve seen for the last few years. !!!!!
We’ve got a far stronger squad than we’ve had for many a year ……and our substitutions weakened us !!
Birmingham play acted ,fouled and continually pushed anyone jumping for the ball squarely in the back ,wasted time and the ref happily let them do it but best of all we were penalised for offside in our own half !!!!
Back to our subs , Fulton and Stamenic looked like they were re-enacting the Fulton / Grimes ‘to me to you ‘ pointless rubbish from the past
And please stop the aimless and dodgy short time and ambition sapping goal kick routine………..just get the bloody ball forward
I was looking forward to a celebratory few beers tonight, instead the beer will be to calm my frustration and temper after watching that second half
Please Vitor sort it out out ,we are so much better than that

Quick Summary. Players looked like they didn't know each other, but when it clicks I think it will be good. Cabango remains non captain material. And Burgess is and will always be our biggest weakness. Almost felt like groundhog day today. Opoku and Yeo was good. Idah as well. Just was nothing special today.

First half was ok, second half poor. Think we definitely have the squad to be competitive this season, especially when the new players have a bit of time to settle in, gel and create relationships on the pitch. Not too sure about top 8, but not getting my knickers in a twist after that today. Far too early in the piece.

Fair response, however equally some only see the negatives.
And that’s fine Don’t let let grind you down Better to be miserable in the real world than happy on fantasy island It started out ok then went down hill Some ya e the guts to say it , the ones referred to as negative
Well i can only go by what I see thus far, and hopefully the over excitables will refrain from any talk of having signed great players and we will be promotion contenders as it's the same old jargon from these guys every season, try and put that nonscence on hold at least until we actually are the top 8 and actually looking good.

some neat passes, first half, also a lot of sloppy passes, some over eagerness form th enewbies and also a touch raw.. atmosphere says i all to me , just like a pre season game, and IMO weve had a poor pre season in games, chances are those that will be challenging are ready, we atm are not. hopefefully we will kick off soon ,

No, not at all. But some have a habit of only seeing positives and not acknowledging negatives of which there was a fair mix of both on display today.
It’s great to be positive but it’s meaningless if you don’t see the negatives on show. Or refuse to comment on them.
Neither side were brilliant and someone above mentioned it had the feel of a pre-season friendly. I only hope our players are more on the same page next week. And more on the front foot getting the ball into the box early and quickly. Today had many of the signs of games last season.
Bear in mind that” positive” posts are invariably meant for the consumption of forum wannabes chums who see criticism as “ negative” , ie happy clappets; those who are upset at losing but haven’t the guts to admit so in front of friends who will see them on a bad light As one who is older than most I truly don’t give a shyte about being hammered for saying what the silent fan is thinking Right from the start Burgess showed how lacking in skill he is ; lacking balance and guile He is simply a loose cannon for us as he was for Oz in World Cup There were plenty of silent fans today
It’s not new though
People either say the truth publically or to themselves ; if they don’t , then they are dying on the vine
In essence a promising start with a predictable ending Brum were gifted a goal then dug in as they were physically far stronger It’s what teams do
We couldn’t cope
Watching highlights of West Ham today is rather scary and what will Wolves Portuguese striker do against Banjo and Burger

Burgess apparently in hospital and out for a while.
It won't be a blessing for Burgess but for the fans I'm not sure many will be crying over this one. That's pretty harsh of me and yes it's never good for any player to be injured, but we all know that the pairing of Cabango and Burgess does not work. This is perfect for Welsh or Lissah to take the spot now.

Possibly a Ben Davies moment.

Injury to Burgess possibly serious. Hopefully he is ok 🤞

Taking his post at face value, I wouldn’t expect him to lie ? There doesn’t seem to be reason why he would, otherwise he would be telling us about his three tickets and how he was looking forward to the game. My outlaws don’t pay by card ever. Hence my question on a cash point.
Seems logical.
Well does anyone carry a large amount of cash everywhere anymore? Everyone has a debit card now surely? I just can’t believe this sorry.

disappointing result. Some good play some good touches but also some bad communication and loose control. Definitely did not deserve to lose and if we had a different ref we would have had two penalties and we should have scored in open play. They had a bit of a spawny goal and we are arguing over the play because that ended in us losing. First half was more than decent but lost shape second. No one really stood out today. Lissah had a decent enough game. Tymon was decent apart from that debacle which was typical of the centre of defence with the usual misdemeanors. Burgess injury is going to force the change. We are out of this cup which is a shame but at least the team can now get organised with no early distractions before our inevitable loss to Man City in round 3 or 4. The real stuff starts next week.

He was already assuming the traditional official position of escaped goat on here and elsewhere on the internet. Perhaps a break will do him good and fans will start to appreciate him.
