It's coming 05:15 - Sep 7 with 3058 views | RonaldStump | Just been talking to a paramedic on night shift. says he along with many others in the NHS have refused the poison. Said when they all get sacked there will be a massive awakening as they have nothing left to lose and will whistleblow the lot. There is a lot of anger and it won't go unnoticed. They will reveal how empty the hospitals have been over the last 18 months. There are many doctors refusing to give the booster clot shot in winter as they are afraid of what's coming in the courts. Also said solicitors already arranged for when they get sacked. Murky times ahead. [Post edited 7 Sep 2021 5:18]

Hospitals are not empty, there are two sections on one ward full of covid cases Doctors don't give the jabs, nurses do I call bullshit on that post!

Seriously. Dependent on which vaccine Astra Zeneca or J & J are viral vectors. An attenuated adenovirus which is engineered to express coronavirus spike protein. Benefits About 50% protection to infection with Delta Variant. Around 85% protection to hospitalisation 90-95% reduction in mortality Slight drop off in protection with time (probably better T cell immunity) Negatives Around 1 in 50,000 develop blood clots. Around 50-60 fatalities in 40 million doses- about 1 in 800,000. For comparison about 1 in 6 people hospitalised get severe blood clotting problems Likely to get some post vaccine soreness and perhaps fever-like most vaccines to be honest Can't be used on immunosuppressed individuals Vector vaccines have been used for many years in the veterinary field, but relatively new to human use. Very good safety record. Pfizer/Moderna mRNA which leads to host producing coronavirus spike protein which is 'seen' as foreign and elicits immunity. About 55% protection to infection 85-90% reduction is hospitalisation About 95% reduction in mortality Immunity wanes after about 6 months to less than the AZ vaccine Negatives Known to elicit allergic reactions in those susceptible to this Increased myocarditis & pericarditis (inflammation of the heart) in around 1 in 12,000 boys and 1 in 100,000 girls. Transient in most cases and little or no issue in over 30s (actually a common viral complication) Very rare cerebral clots (somewhere around 1 in 250,000) There are little data on long term effects of RNA vaccines, but then there are not for Covid either. In comparison to most vaccines these are relatively safe. Chances of dying from a vaccine complication at age 40-50 are around 1 in 1000,000. Chances of dying from Covid about 1 in 100 if infected. The rest is tin foil hat nonsense

No problem-DM if you want any specifics. Although bacterial immunity is my area, I can find out most things easily from a reliable source (colleagues who work on this)

It would be interesting to know how many of those covid patients have not been vaccinated and then how many of them subsequently die whilst being treated. That would perhaps give some indication of the effectiveness of the vaccine both in terms of protection and mortality.

I think a lot of public sector workers have got in the habit of doing feck all the last 18 months,it’s strange how the likez of the DVLA so called workers use any excuse to do feck all and strike if they are asked to get within 8 feet of someone in work, but don’t care at all in sitting next to someone screaming or shouting at a sporting event or smashing it on the pi55 down wind street amongst 1000s. They all think getting full pay for doing jack shite is the way it should be for ever more.

You wouldn't see what's happening on the wards as they are out of bounds, especially the covid ones.

I wouldn't be able to find that information out, only one of us is allowed to be at lads bedside, annoying and frustrating.

This 100%. Also they still aren't doing routine face to face appointments unless absolutely necessary. I had a zoom appointment with a physio recently, that's pretty much standard right now and I haven't seen my GP face to face in 18 months. The only times I've been in hospital is for x rays, blood tests and my operation. NPT seems like a ghost town unless you go on a ward. I'll also add that SBUHB has announced 800 new cases of covid in the last few days. Morriston is indeed very busy everywhere apart from outpatients, again because they aren't doing face to face appointments unless they really have to. For example, I have a face to face with my specialist on the 20th as a follow up to my hip replacement.

Morriston A&E has been manic for 20 odd years. I took my neighbour to Singleton 3 weeks back, from the main entrance up to ward 6 through the corridors we saw 2 people on the entire walk,it was eerie Next to nothing is going on in there.it was eerie in there.

Wish my lad was there then, he went there before when he had a bad chest infection, so l don’t see why he couldn’t have gone there.

You wouldn't expect to see open heart or another surgery taking place on the corridors , try walking into any ward and I think you'll find you can't .

Would make a lot of sense to use one hospital as covid only. Perhaps it should be Singleton as Morriston has the A and E

It’s a similar story in West Wales. Glangwili have closed 1 ward and there are restrictions on others re Covid outbreaks. Visiting is restricted and movements are limited to prevent cross contamination. Staffing levels are stretched as are services.
