I have no idea who Mark Allen is or was.

How about Mr Allen gets on with his job and starts delivering first team results ?
By hiding behind long term Academy plans, he tries to avoid being accountable. He wont be around to see if he is right or wrong.

It is a bit concerning.
I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a situation where a manager has been told it doesn’t matter how he does. I personally think it’s such a toxic message to send out to players and manager alike. I don’t know how any manager or player can have that drive for success and ruthlessness when it doesn’t really matter one way or another if they win or lose, professionally or otherwise.
To take it away from football, I often go to the qualifiers of tennis tournaments and enjoy them more than the main draw. This is where you have your players scrapping for every ball knowing there are very real consequences for not winning.
Giving one manager so much power over a club, a manager that hasn’t been particularly successful anywhere he has gone is really odd. I just can’t figure out what’s going on. He’s never managed to finish in the top half in any season.
I was told at the start of the season that Martin has off field connections with Morgan who is getting more influence over the club, wasn’t sure how to take it at the time - but it’s certainly looking like there is a bit more than meets the eye here. Just doesn’t make much logical sense to be so satisfied with mediocrity. |  |

In a way,this is rather sinister.
Just why is HE is so sacrosanct .Where on his CV does it show achievement or results. Where are the players he has improved?
What if a club comes in and doubles his salary .He's gonna turn it down because he loves the city ,fans, people blah blah blah.
This really does show what a dangerous position we are in. We have a BS manager ,absent owners and a CEO that doesnt know his 'rse from his elbow plus Mark Allen.
Every fan should right now be appalled at the insulting ,disingenuous narrative now seeping into every pore of the club.

I don’t understand this “more players” stuff either.
What’s wrong with the players brought in this season? If they aren’t good enough then what was the point in spending £5m on them? How many more do we need, and why?
Apart from Grimes, Cabango, Downes and Naughton - players he presumably won’t want to replace anyway, all other positions are filled by players brought in this season.
Which player(s) being replaced is he expecting will transform this side? | |

I love my home town and the club. It’s why I criticise . I care . If I didn’t,I wouldn’t be on here . I’ve plenty of others but thecSwans are part of me . I don’t particularly like it but it is with me until I snuff it . If some think I hate Swansea Wales or whatever that d down to them being dumb but right now ,make no mistake,every word of support,every seal like clap at Martin as he poses around the ground like Nero . He is simply passing through. A long term manager would not have come here with the owners that we have . We need a wise,possibly old sweat who can give us our pride back.
I see comments like Allen and I want to snot him.
I think of deceased fans being taking for saps when I see RM uttering mind blowing drivel

So this is a write-up of an interview on the Official Site with Mark Allen? Timing tells you everything. Allen is a strange fish. Tried to make it as a footballer and failed. He went to a private university in the US which no one has heard of, studied business, came back here, tried football again, failed again, went to work in TV production management. Continued coaching in his spare time, got his badges, and then 10 years ago, pushing 50, got his first proper job in football running Man City’s academy. I suspect he was wanted for his business admin skills more than his football knowledge. Left there just as the tapping up scandal was breaking, did a few years at Celtic, now with us. | |
