This loss though was harder to take than the other capitulations so far this season as the swans should have been out of sight with the amount of chances spurned throughout the game. 0 If you want to remove this post from the board index, just click the hide post icon below. There were enough good chances for both sides for it to end 3-3.

Surely it is the players to blame for missing sitters and poor defending ?

I think the problems are on the field and off it John. The buck has to stop with Martin. Not just a one off game 9 points from 9 games not acceptable Time for a change

No. Players are “coached” Ours badly so,proven by the sheer inept performances. Now that is a mark of the ability of the coach . Surely Now,defending…consider what is said at team briefings. Then reflect on the game management issues that are discussed, assuming their are ,that is. We have the most ludicrously overrated coach in our history. A man we cannot afford to sack apparently, which tends to suggest that people want him gone . Hudds have just binned theirs after nine games . They do not want a relegation fight after making their way back after years in the doldrums . Some of ours seem unperturbed and haven’t the guts to admit so,preferring to insult fellow fans . Surely,THAT is crazy

Very poor ref. His headband wound me up from the start. As for the goal though I didnt see much wrong with it . Naughton tried to bring him down but he was too quick and strong for him

Different people different views, I thought he was one of the better refs we have had down here, let the game flow played advantage well, didn't get suckered by players going down injured. Think it was a foul at the end, but if it had been our forward, we would have said he cost us the game by not allowing the goal. Had our chances, should have had the game wrapped up by then. KN26 exposed at the end, left on his own with 2 attackers, both who were fresh and had a loads of pace. I have views on the subbing of Jay and Cooper, but it was done and easy to be right after the game. Not a lover of RM but he is a new young manager and is on a learning curve, taking him a time, but I think he will improve. Just my thoughts in the cold light of day.

Thought he reffed it very well to be honest and like you, I agree it was not a foul at the end.

| Swansea City’s baffling statistic goes on and on : Martin blames the referee on 20:26 - Sep 14 with 836 views | Catullus | Do I blame the ref (who was far from the worst ref we've had) or do I blame A, the manager for yet more poor subs OR B, the players for blowing it with so many decent chances...just why did Cooper not shoot? He had an otherwise great night but I think he bottled it in front of goal. You canoot be scared to miss, if you are you will never try to shoot. Oli, just hit it mate, if the keeper saves itthen c'est la vie. He saved Piroe's effort but that's how the cookie crumbles. It's not a good look though for our manager to keep trotting out excuses. I think both the reasons above apply, poor subs, poor decisions on the pitch. maybe Martin should acknowledge those things. | |

This is why he should have appointed an experienced coach in his backroom staff eg Calderwood. It is probably too late to do it now?

It is not too late. Martin is picking tiring ageing weaker defenders instead of stronger younger one. The loss can be explained and rectified. Winter and US owners really do not want to sack Martin. The next step is an experienced no 2.

Cooper at Newport had 15 assists and one goal or something similar last season. Korey Smith would rather have a nosebleed than score as well. 6 goals in 14 seasons.

What is our goals scored to shots/shots on target ratio? That has to be poor too. Until last Tuesday we took our seats with the players out practising shooting right in front of us. Then the game starts and nobody wants to shoot, it's like they are trying to score the perfect goal, always an extra pass. JUST BLOODY SHOOT! Cooper, just hit it, Anybody on the edge of the box facing goal, have a go and other players follow in. We're not talking any great tactical ingenuity here, it's basic part of the game. Shoot and follow up for any rebound. We seem more adept at playing statues, we stand around waiting for the ball well go and look for it instead, at throw ins make yourself available, if a player is looking for a pass make a run even if only to draw an opponent away. Take a note out of Joe Allen's book, a little bit of movement can actually go a long way, an extra yard of space can be vital.

| Swansea City’s baffling statistic goes on and on : Martin blames the referee on 23:36 - Sep 16 with 398 views | howenjack | There's an old adage in football if you can't win a game , make sure you don't lose it . Unfortunately in several games we have gambled on the win and been exposed at the back costing us all the points. Lessons have to be learned as it's becoming an increasingly recurring statistic - and there's another old adage - The definition of insanity is doing the same thing but expecting different results. | | | |

Martin is far too egotistical to accept help from anyone. It wouldn't make the blindest bit of difference in any case as he would still pick the team and put crap subs on.
