| They make us feel indebted
For saving us from hell
And then they put us through it
It's time the bastards fell

Awful news. We’ve had some terrific keepers over the years and he was up there with the best.

May 1985. Bristol City (H). I can't remember why, but for some reason we had our final game a week after the season ended. Two things that stand out for me:
1) The weather was stifling
2) An amazing fingertip save from Jimmy that denied a certain goal. A 0-0 draw was enough: had we lost we'd have gone from Division 1 to 4 in successive seasons.
And is it true he gave money to the club to help with our finances during those dark days?
An underrated servant of the club - thoughts go to his family.

Yes I believe he lent or gave the club money to pay his own transfer fee from Aston Villa.
Always thought it was a pity he wasn't out keeper in the first division days. Signed just after relegation I think.

A guy with an impressive CV, I was mightily impressed when he joined SCFC because of, a very famous name, very sad to hear that he is no longer with us on this earthly realm.

Believe he had a golfing business on The Gower after his career and stayed in the area .
Was living in Gorseinon on his passing as were a few players around that time .
Another gem The Swans got and still fondly remembered .

I think his golfing business was either on Walter Rd or St Helen’s Rd. I remember going in there once what seems like many moons ago.
