These are all the pubs in and around the Vetch/Sandfields which I can remember since 1978.
Each had their own individual atmosphere and many are no longer there but being a Sandfields boy at heart I thought I'd post this to stimulate some nostalgia about the 'good old days'.

In the mid 80's when we were 15-16 yrs old we used to go the St Helens and play pool out the back before Swans games. The landlord in there was a great old fella he obviously knew we were under age but was cool about it as nobody hardly went there. Can't remember his name? |  |

Don't think I ever went in the Paxton or Hocks but I was in the rest of them quite often. Sometimes ventured as far as the Brunswick.
The Liberty isn't the same in that respect, partly because I'm older and maybe wiser, maybe because the pubs just aren't there or maybe because I'm broke! |  |

I think we are quite lucky compared to a lot of the new grounds, still got the Wern, Railway, Coopers, Commercial, Smiths, Hafod, Boss, Engine, Alma, Ivorites few more all within 10 - 15 min walk of the ground.
Not sure how many will survive covid mind.

Oh god yeah, you’re never going to struggle to get a pint on match day. Plenty of clubs have Frankies and Harvester, out of town retail park type places and that’s it. We’re fortunate compared to most.

I used to, when i was 14/15 ish, come on the train with a lot from Builth and Llanwrtyd, there would be 30 or 40 ish. Straight off the train into the Adam and Eve, with a few quid in my pocket from my butchers boy job. Packing meat from 5 - 10am to catch the train at 10.30. |  |

I'm on about proper brews mun, they don't do Real Ale in Cadiz do they? I know Majorca have a few breweries producing some, there's on a side street up from the from at Cala Bona that sell bottles of some, its nice but expensive for a 330ml bottle, they might even be 275ml bottles. | |

Used to love drinking "in" the Gari for Swans games just get 4,6,8 cans from Tesco on the Kingsway and stand outside and then p!ss behind it!
Does and anyone remember Stoke City fans turning the place over at about 5pm on a Tuesday night in the early 1990's when there was nobody in there? also Bristol City fans doing a similar thing with the Swansea Jack & The Potters Wheel again hours before kick off mid week with a handful of people in there  | |

I went to that rave, it was at Longleet if I remember right....crazy to think that’s almost 30 years ago. Used to frequent pulse raves at the uni and Martha’s around that time, decent nights out.

I think the Glamorgan was a designated away fans pub Rich maybe the Seabeach too but don’t think many others were especially the Badminton & The Robin Hood down that end of the Sandfields !! | |

How many of the pubs were away fan friendly? |
Even the alleged away fan friendly pubs were iffy.
Back in the early eighties a lot of away fans just didn’t come near the vetch until the game. Obviously Chelsea caused a few problems, for anyone who remembered 1979 when Jimmy scored that superb goal, could have been 1980. Bedlam, beautiful bedlam 😂 | |
