Michael Obafemi loan inquiry and Manchester City player to come in on loan ? 11th Jan 2022 08:00
After a busy day getting the finer details of Andrew Fisher signing from MK Dons the swans were hit with a real conundrum yesterday when a loan offer came in for Michael Obafemi. We also hear that a discussion took place between the swans and Liverpool regards Rhys Williams. 1

Wouldn't surprise me if Obafemi went.

...and then all the happy clappers who claimed selling Lowe (a player who had proved that he can score goals at this level) for £1.5m...a ridiculously small transfer fee under the circumstances... was just fine, because Lowe didn't fit our system and we got Obafemi in as a replacement for £1.5m...

...those people, the deluded...can concoct some bull about it's a great decision by Martin to give up on a player he has barely played after 6 months, because the money saved on wages can be put towards loaning some youngster from a Prem club we can develop for them

...or even better, we can put the money towards signing another MK Dons player.

I think losing Lowe was a mistake, think he was capable of playing the Patterson role but wasn't it Lowe who pushed to leave? Said he didn't see himself fitting the Martin style, maybe I am wrong.

Think Lowe and Patterson playing off Piroe up top was a trick missed by Martin. Think if we went with a back 4 then a front 3 of mentioned would have been an interesting combination.

...but as Lowe is gone, Martin needs to get the most out of his replacement Obafemi.
Not loan him out after 6 months.
6 months where he has barely been allowed off the bench.

I’m pretty sure Lowe asked to leave. I was was a Lowe supporter but if it’s true that he wanted out there was very little sense in keeping him around l, and that drove the Obafemi signing.

Piroe has been in good form though in fairness. I don’t mind players sitting on the bench when the guy in the team is doing well. It’s when players are struggling for form and fitness and are seemingly undroppable I just don’t understand. Cooper was guilty of this too. Some players can be utter dog shit for weeks and not be dropped whilst others have one bad performance and are shipped out and never seen again.

Please tell me that's not true because the man is worth next to nothing in the transfer market. That's a wind-up surely?

Martin clearly cannot develop players. He simply bins them as they are too much for him.

Isn't just. Unrivalled reporting, with so much wealth of hot news packed in to one unassuming report. Pretty sure other news outlets would stretch it out to at least 4 headline reports.

It’s only an inquiry, things change day to day but there’s definitely been contact.
He won’t go out until one is lined up in.

Does Cullen going on loan mean we knock back the Obafemi approach or is it still potentially on if we get one in? Presumably Joseph is 3rd striker irrespective of what happens.

Brilliant man management by Martin. He has sorted the ads head out and is now getting the best out of him.
As he did with Piroe.
As he did with Patterson.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

You mean, he put him on the pitch so the likes of Grimes could utilise his pace with balls in behind.

No evidence that Obafemi has been transformed as a player or a professional whatsoever.

In fact, Martin has still got them the wrong way round. Piroe should lead the line and Obafemi should play off him running the channels...but there we are.

I agree, Obafemi’s ball control is really poor at times.

Couldn't we try w up front and push Pato into the CAM role? With 2 strikers would pato get more room?

Martin insists on a ludicrous keeper and totally nullifies Piroe,a balls out striker.

Seven goals in ten starts for Oba whilst Piroe continues to chip in from a deeper role would suggest otherwise. In fact, we probably couldn't have fitted them both into the team any better than we have, especially with Paterson continuing to contribute.

How many has Piroe scored while Obafemi's been on the pitch? Only the West Brom goal this calendar year (1 out of 4).
