Personally I believe a minutes silence followed by a Welsh hymn would be a fitting tribute.
Plus it would save the embarrassment of the national anthem being booed. | | | |

My view is this:
GSTK IS the British national anthem. This is not debatable. It is NOT the English national anthem.
Wales is an integral part of the United Kingdom. Again, fact never mind that a MINORITY of people think saying otherwise will make it so.
By NOT playing the British national anthem in a part of Britain (again, fact!) is tantamount to a submissive acknowledgment that the minority are trumping the majority. And that’s a dangerous slippery slope. |  |

The frustrating thing is people will feel they are booing the English national anthem, which to all sporting intents and purposes it is, or the monarchy in general.
It was pretty hard to dislike the Queen as an individual. Some of the things GSTK represents will get under peoples skin though and while I absolutely don’t condone it, I do understand it.
That’s not how it will look to people from outside Wales though. | | | |
