The Early Edition Rhyming Slang 'Aitor Karanka' Match Thread 11:42 - Feb 26 with 32927 viewsDorse

Currently undefeated when starting match threads this season, I was unsurprised when Warbs 'Warby' Warburton called this morning and insisted that I start this one. 'Dorse', he said, for we are close and often share recipes, 'you know what to do'.

Sadly, I didn't but it was nice of him to call.

As with the Preston game, we get something from this. A point will suffice. All three will be a bonus.

No more than one goal in this and I see a game that will make that Preston one look like a Classic.

Might not bother with sleep tonight; I can catch up at 3pm tomorrow...

Can we go out yet?

We will almost certainly probably win perhaps.

Just realised the rhyming slang element to some of our recent games:
Aitor Karanka
Thomas Frank
And, of course, Troy Deenis.

Alright, maybe not Troy Deenis but he is a dick.

The Brummy lot are not exactly the hardest opponents in the league to face currently, and to me would be disapointing not to get all three points.

The Brums aren't going to just give us the win on a plate but these are the sort of games we should be winning to show us our form of 2021 is not just a flash in the pan and we have the roots of a good side.

A win for us, 2 or 3 nil.

The whole vibe around the club and fans has changed this week - we finally are exuding confidence and higher expectations after our fantastic and hard-earned recent run.

Sorry lads but that can only mean a frustrating defeat today - vintage Rangers!

Definitely a Must Win game today if we are to keep up the surge towards the top half of the table.

Lose and we will reconvene the discussion about the implausible number of points required to stay up this season.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

Three start changes it seems.
Hamaleinen for Wallace (not even on the bench - is he injured?)
Willock for Chair.
Bonne for Dykes.
Seems ok?
No de Wijs anywhere.
No doubt Warbs will bring on plenty of subs - second half - fresh legs and all that.

So Kane to experience some sort of redemption, Niko to get his head sorted out, Willers to provide the foxery and Bonne to do the runny/linky bit or Chaz. Fair enough.

I see the Dutch guy still isn't ready for the bench and Wallace not in the squad so must be injured again or completely rested? He's actually been very good over the last 3-4 games. Glad Willock gets a start. Chair needs a rest. He's played so much, almost too much. Good to see Bonne get a chance but I possibly would have started with Adomah to help create more chances. Let's see how they do and hope Willock scores one like BOS did there last season.

Surprised Chair is not starting - but sensible game management, I guess.

I'd happily take a point. Prediction: 1-1

Embarrassingly poor and inappropriate pre-match music coming from the Birmingham stadium. Christ, devolution in evidence as usual.

Looking forward to today's game. Glad that Chair is getting a rest. He's worked so hard this season.

Hope Bonne playing provides a bit of extra momentum too, as he's not played to much either. Good luck to Niko too.

I think Wallace just given a complete rest day today. He was completely shot after 30 minutes on Wednesday and I was amazed to see him come out for the second half.

Kakay can cover left wingback as sub as he did the other week.

Got a feeling we're going to lose 2-1, failing that we'll either win or draw, either way I'm going to enjoy a cold glass of Villages unfiltered lager.
