Gordon Taylor will never allow a wage cap. We've seen that he refused a wage cut whilst players weren't playing the last few months.
All clubs can now do is offer the wages they can afford that's within the FFP rules.
Basically any club with a small ground or small support will never be able to attain higher levels if they can't attract the best players who will simply go to whoever pays the most which will be the bigger clubs. |  | | |

Really upset for the fans and the players there. Having really gone on promotion form rather than relegation form and with decent supporters this is a huge kick in the teeth for them just as they had almost got safe. Half of me hopes they win every match now, bar our one but I think they will win that one if the groundsman and his dog are the only two that turn up. That dog's a bit useful!
Will be interesting to see if it derails their form or galvanises them to go for what what be a miraculous escape now. |  |

Actually, if your club has lost the will to get to the Premier League, the best way to make a profit each season would be to drop into League One, have consistent decent seasons but make sure you always avoid promotion.
£2.5 mill wage bill, owners might stop having to dip into their own pockets.
