I thought it was good and enjoyed it, dont get the issue with Q being gay somewhat inconsequential just matter of fact as it is in real life, lacked a little raunch for a bond film though the girls got a few Daniel Craig shots including a close up of his package. Fine with ending, every bond change is a reboot anyway

I was going to give it a miss but if the C.D thinks it's better than he was expecting I might enjoy it.

Contains some spoilers.

I quite enjoyed it and didn't mean to down vote original post was trying to press reply and my phone went mad.

the Q thing was hardly worth a mention was expecting him to be a bigger part of the film after reading posts on here but was just one throwaway line.

Not sure how i feel about the ending, it did make sense to end the 5 film arc for Daniel Craig and really if that hadn't happened it would have been hard to see how they ended that story but same as all of his Bond films the action was great and always felt like real jeopardy that any of the support characters could and possibly would be killed off.

Whoever follows him has a tough job on his hands

I must admit, I spent the weekend watching all of the films on 4K Blu-ray, and then saw no time to die again. taking it all as a series for Daniel Craig’s character, I think it closes it perfectly. And it feels even more tragic with his kid. I can’t wait to own it on 4K when it comes out and complete my collection. For anyone wanting to buy the box set it, it’s £40 in HMV and £60 on Amazon.
Of course DaveB itv has a contrary opinion, wouldn’t expect anything else 🤦🏼‍♂️

I'm guessing that the producers might follow the Star Wars model and make spin off films.

I think Amazon bought the rights so expect a few tv series of spin offs. I'm not sure where they go with the movies you could do it with Bond as a code name rather than a character which opens the door different races or sex playing the role or you just reboot again as they have always done before and pretend that never happened or you say he somehow escaped and decided to go into hiding to protect Madeline.

2 star film. Some action scenes were good but I thought the film in general was a mess. Probably the worst of the bunch with Craig. Stupid and unnecessary ending. The girl playing 007 had zero charisma and if she's taking over the franchise then it's dead in the water. There's a reason why Bond has been so popular for over 50 years of cinema. Why change it?.

Indeed. It was lucky they had one after Licence to Kill too.

Watched it last night. Loved it.

Ana de Armas is simply perfect. Not only jaw droppingly gorgeous, but her character was funny and bad ass. Brilliantly acted too. Loved that scene, it was classic Bond. Brilliant setting, lots of enemies killed and set out the context nicely for the potential of the 'weapon' they were fighting.

Action scenes were great, including the car scenes.

Some clever lines in there e.g. "it's just a number".

On the story arc at the end - big tick from me too. I hate it when the story plays it really safe (Star Wars 7-9 being the best example I can think of) and we end up with the same unimaginative repeats. The whole Craig era took Bond somewhere new, and his death - ending the aura of invincibility around Bond - was the perfect end. Brave and good call for me. I don't think it needs to end the Bond franchise - they can easily start the next set of films at a different point in his chronology. Slightly younger Bond works. Hardly like the rest are sequential.

My bug bear a little different from others - the egregious product placement. Come off it guys. Nokia smart phone? Lingering on it for that long? If you feel you need to pay Bond producers that much for your advertising, you're probably doing something else wrong already. Smirnoff, Heineken etc etc. It's so in your face. I know by just talking about it I'm probably letting them win but I needed to rant about it.

An entertaining romp, but it was far far too long and sombre. The bits in the Cuba were the best parts, and I was gutted when Paloma exited stage left.

The second half of the film was a dour mess though. Craig and Seydoux had zero chemistry. There were tons of continuity errors and plot holes which made me think they'd had a nightmare in edit

As for virtual signalling woke Bond, youse snowflakes need to get a grip. Q said he sad a bloke coming over in one throwaway line, and I thought Lashana Lynch was a good change of pace and tone from Craig looming around being moody all the time.

Overall Craig's Bond has struggled cos Casino Royale's, far and away the best film in the Bond series (not the best Bond film though, if that makes sense), realistic and brutal tone was a refreshing change, but has struggled with the Bond-ier elements of the series. For example, in one scene Bond garottes a guy, then gets into his car and presses a big button that says SMOKE. It's a hard juggling act

Also the studio is such a mess that it's weird that Craig came in as "he's not a 00 yet" and theyve had such a torrid time getting the films out, most of them have been about Bond being too old

Saw it last night at Eastpoint 10 cinemas Dundalk Md. 2 miles from where the British came on shore to take Baltimore. The sea attack got thwarted by the guns at Fort Mcenery. A slave owner called Francis Scott key witnessed the scene and saw the US flag still flying at the fort and subsequently wrote the words to the US national anthem. The tune a British drinking song.

Thought it was Craig’s best Bond film. Messy, long, somewhat ridiculous, totally agree. Still good no fuss entertainment though. Well worth watching. Wife and I were way past our bedtime and never drifted off, faint praise. 10 people in the place, some losing their siht on the way out because Bond was dead. Morphing into a different person is ok though.

On product placement - the studio is basically bankrupt and the product placement are basically what get the films made I remember reading (c.Skyfall and their Sony deal maybe?)

I must be turning into an old fart as for me Bond starts and ends with Connery and Moore (and yes I know how ludicrous some of the Moore films are!)

Saw it last night as well. Not necessarily what you are expecting in terms of the ending, but aside of DC returning, it has left everything 'possible' including killing off James Bond altogether.

I have a mate who has worked for the producers for years and I texted 'what next?' Alas, nothing divulged, but as someone suggested above: the possibility of different spin-offs looks plausible; maybe bringing back a traditional male character in due course because as pointed out: 00 is just a number.

I still think 'Skyfall' was DC's best Bond and one of the best films in the franchise. It does hark back to 'OHMSS' (which remains my favourite Bond film) or tries to; with it's attempt at a sad ending.

Think DC has breathed life into the franchise, and is up there with Connery. However, after somewhat indifferent films during the Dalton and Brosnan eras, the real influences have been the 'Bourne' and to some extent, 'Mission Impossible' movies in my view. If the 'Bond' producers had kept churning out the same-old-same-old, it would have left the 'Bond' movies dead in the water.

Not sure the 'Bond' movies will work with the actress who played the female 007 in the starring role. Personally, I thought she was even more wooden than Dalton.

Funniest moment for me wasn't in the film, but when M said he had to call the PM. My mate turned to me and said 'Oh sh1t, he's calling Boris Johnson!'

Well exactly, leaves it wide open for a black guy next and a totally different type of Bond.

It should be Daniel Kaluuya, a brilliant actor.

All Bond's rely on a hedge on the film culture at the time. Connery exploded when they started to lean towards that 60s glamour/camp dichotomy. Moore was a chameleon, whose films aped whatever was popular that summer.

Dalton's hard edge was a bit ahead of its time, so flopped. And Brosnan got caught a weird fin de siecle malaise. They clearly tacked to the "diaster" film style that was popular, but part way through his time, The Matrix comes out and makes Bond look like a tacky piece of shit!

For Craig, their hedge on both the Bourne action style, and that series' sense of intrigue and "thriller" nature, combined with a different and very interesting take on Bond was a massive success. But now where do they go? Tonally and stylitically?

Maybe a Bond who is a bit more happy go lucky? Personally I'd like a bit more spy in my spy film, and less endless action, but you'd need a skilled director to craft it

Bond the musical?

I don't think they tapped into Connerys Bond singing in DR No enough.

I liked it. Doesn't come close to Casino Royale or Skyfall, but still enjoyable enough.

While I don't think the character needed to die, the decision to kill Bond means that the Daniel Craig movies can't be viewed in the overall canon of Bond movies. This series of five has to almost be treated like a different interpretation or universe - and that's fine with me. In many respects, that sort of makes them better and more unique.

Bond movies have traditionally tended to be individual entities, with the odd back reference to a previous event. And I think this is where they'll pick back up with the next Bond. Again, fine with me.

I also didn't mind Lashana Lynch's character being given the 007 number following Bond's retirement in NTTD. If anything, I thought it was cheesy that she gave it back to him.

It's not the first time it's happened - read Forever and a Day and you'll see what I mean.

As a dramatic device, I found it weird that Bond could never touch his loved ones again, and then died. Felt like the enormity of the first was kinda undone by the latter? Felt one or t'other would've been stronger
