Kudos to those who buy tickets to get their points/"caps" so they're at the front of the queue when it comes to getting tickets for major tournaments (assuming England gets there). I just don't see the attraction, but fair enough if it floats your boat.

I’ve felt for ages now the England squad is poor and getting poorer.
Think we’ve got 3 maybe 4 players that can cut it on the world class level and one of those is clearly Kane; without him we are gash.
Another one in Bellingham it looks like has been ostracised by the German (injuries aside).

It’s a mirror of the Premiership…. Boring, robotic, hard running and hope for a set piece and then load the cannons.

I think the modus operandi is more of a problem than the quality of the players. Lee Dixon has just qualified it (in amongst his morose comments). We are just too slow going forwards and don't all go forward as a team. Once the defenders/CDM's have passed it out, that's it, they don't advance any further. It is like watching us at Southampton.

I think Tuchel will get criticised and rightly so .
I like him, but by pandering to the clubs , he really now has more problems than he did a few days ago .
That starting line up was a mess tonight . About 5 ‘10s’ and no striker or width. What on Earth are you trying to achieve or learn?

Watching these England friendlies is a complete waste of time. Players more concerned with club fixtures going through the motions. Why on earth anyone buys expensive tickets for these travesties is beyond me! Just have a players get together
where you can talk about plans for World Cup! These. matches are meaningless!

One plus for us is that none of our players should be exhausted by the internationals.
Vale got 30 mins, Dunne ZERO for Ireland.

Watching England is so terribly frustrating.

Everything is too slow, too ponderous, and too unambitious. These are meant to be the best players the country has to offer who play in the top league. Centre halves rarely play a firm forward pass 20 yards into a central midfielder’s or forward’s feet. They should. And the bloke receiving it should be able to control it. So often it is just right back to centre half to centre half to left back, and back again.

It’s almost like there is some inherent cultural problem where they are all scared of playing an adventurous forward pass and giving it away early in possession. And so everyone takes the safe option. Basically trying to avoid mistakes rather than play good, exciting football.

Eze has to play in this side for me. I’m not bothered about the back 4, but the front 6 needs to have Bellingham told he is playing alongside Rice, as the box to box 8, or he isn’t playing. Saka on the right, Eze on the left, Rogers or Palmer at 10, Kane up top.

That gets our best technical players onto the pitch that should enable them to execute the ambitious, fast forward passing we so desperately need to inject into the play.

for all the talk of the great attacking players we rarley look like scoring from open play and rely heavily on either Kane scoring or a moment of brilliance.

I think Foden may well have played himself out of the squad this week, I'd play Gordon as the back up striker rather than him and would take Welbeck this summer above Solanke and Calvaert Lewin

The defence is the worry for me this summer, under Southgate we were strong at the back and stayed in games so your match winners could get us over the line. I think losing the likes of Walker, Shaw and probably Stones the next ones coming through are nowhere near that level at the moment and when it comes to the crunch that will cost us.
