Loads of report suggesting it's a done deal at a bargain basement price for such a quality player
If this is the case then someone at the club needs shooting for selling him , especially at that price

Personally, I think we would be mad to sell him. But if there is a clause in his contract then not a lot we can do. Then all of the money needs to be given to Clement to reinvest.

Gylfi Deal All But Done - £30 million ? on 22:56 - Jul 9 by icecoldjack

Is sadly the correct answer .

Think he's gone lads, if it's true he's told the club He wants out despite us offering him a huge new contract then little else we can do except start getting a top quality replacement in, my fear us that we gut all the goals in the team by letting llorente go too .

Hope Paul clement has a good plan,he'll need it !

Correct, Ice Cold.

I have said all along that I feel Siggy will leave, and he has every right to. If I were in his position, killing myself week after week for a dysfunctional club, I would leave too. All athletes want to perform at the highest-level, and we aren't that.

It's completely understandable if he wants to leave, and if he does. He's given us more than enough, and he's tired of being sshatt on by Jenkins. The issue is that we hold all the cards here and shouldn't be accepting cut-rate offers, and ole Huwie has been busy signing random teens rather than bringing in the quality we need. Mesa is a great player, but we have so many problem areas that we should have been far more proactive in bringing in more like him.

That hasn't happened, and Siggy knows this. Our club's priorities are clear, and it's not the "next level". It's the ffulkingg homegrown quota, apparently. If Siggy leaves, this is the reason why more than anything.

Remember when Siggy left the club and Laudrup signed Michu and we went on to win our first ever major trophy, who is to tell that Clement won't do the same, it is very unlikely, but I have more faith in Clement than I would in Jenkins making the decisions. Don't get me wrong I would love Sigurdsson to stay, but if he wants to go and sit on the bench at Goodison, then there is nothing we can do about it! Because there is no way Rooney will be a bit part player and the only position he will play is as an attacking midfielder.

Gylfi was smart in them comments he made, he basically said he'd go only if the CLUB wanted to sell, so when he joins Everton after privately telling the club he wants to leave, the fans will then blame the club and he comes out and says he loved it here he wasn't in a rush to leave but the club couldn't turn down the money oh and he can't wait to work with Koeman and the exciting project at Everton.

Why would Gylfi not want to go to Everton?

He gets a pay increase and a lucrative contract with a nice wedge of the transfer fee.

Won't be in a relegation battle

Playing with better players

Playing in Europe with a better chance of winning domestically.

Probably will live in Cheshire !

Don't think we have much going for us with all that on offer !

I love this quote from above: "Simply put, if The Americans sanction Siggy/Llorente cut-rate sales, then we know exactly what they're here for: money. The optimist in me is hoping that's not the case, all this paper talk aside."

To borrow a line from Monty Python, "I told you once." Actually, I told you once at least.

p.s. TheYanks' demonstration of being here "for the money" will make the Trust's selling off shares both a dereliction of a duty enshrined in the Trust's constitution, but also a very foolish tossing away of a pile of money in dividends. For a couple of eggs from the golden goose's dead belly.

Everton aren't exactly "the highest level" though are they. A higher level yes but not the highest. I thought that after spending a very decent amount on a good CMF that he might have stayed.

No he's gone for more money , not the highest level. I did say that in my opinion a club like spurs or the other top six wouldn't take him didn't I?

Okay great, Neathie.

Which sports?

How far did you get?

Playing with the kids doesn't count.

The relevance is that when you play at a high level you understand the game, and you understand when someone is quality or not. I see you've never done that or you wouldn't need to ask the question.

Poor little guy, the internet's all you got. You can keep talking your bbullsshitt since you need it that much.

Paul Clement only made it to non-league and most would say he understood the game. Paul Merson played the game at the highest level, and he's a f*cking idiot.

Makes no difference if you've played the game at a high level, a low level or not at all. If you've got a decent brain in your head you're capable of understanding the game as well as anybody.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

To be fair to him, he's going to a club with ambitions of getting to the level you speak about.

I agree with some of the points Res makes about him, I don't think he quite has what it takes to be a regular starter for a club in the top 4, Everton will be about the pinnacle. I do still think we are selling ourselves short though, he's proven to score and assist goals, age still relatively on his side, set piece specialist, age relatively still on his side, and most of all, three years left on his contract.

By the sound of it though, he actively wants out if you are to believe that muppet Dineen. What worries me is our ability to replace him, we will have to spend a decent amount of money on this one and the only person I really trust in doing that is Clement. Huw needs to keep his conk out the w@nker.

Im not sticking up for Mr Dineen in anyway whatsoever but we are talking about one player here, one fuçking player.
Seriously people have lost all objectivity when it comes down to football these days.

I'm not even on about the Siggy deal, if he goes, he goes. He wants out, so he must go, just a bit disappointed we couldn't have got a bit more personally if he is to go for the figure being quoted in the media.

Just do not like the bloke at all, and hate that he somehow still has a job at the club.

I have no problem with Gylfi leaving the club. My issue is that we should not be accepting £32M. He is worth more.

I definitely think we can get more for him. I also wouldn't be so concerned if I had any faith the board will reinvest the money wisely.

I'm told from a very very good sauce that all what Gylfi had said publicly about being happy and wanting to stay in Swansea is bollox and even though the Yanks have said to him he's not sale they'll sell him for £34/35million.

Seriously though there's a fuçking state on some of our fans,if he doesn't want to play for our great club he's a çunt that can go fuçk himself.

Last paragraph spot on. I've always had the impression that he thought the club was beneath him.

Rooney and Barkley both 'numbers 10s' it would be Spurs all over again scrapping for playing time and forced out wide to get a kick

Have we actually received an official bid from Everton? have we got a case against them for "Tapping up" weeks before the end of the season it was a "done deal" If its going to happen lets get it done and move on with the time left in the window the board will have no excuses.
