UK death rate is astonishing 14:45 - Apr 17 with 4971 viewsNotLoyal

Anyone generally fcking shit scared.
I am for my family, here and in Spain, the daily announcements that things are getting better or levelling out don't seem to be right. Is the truth really out there...

How did this really start is another issue.
I mean we spent 3 years arguing the toss about brexit and leaving Europe, now we can't even sensibly leave the house.

OK I've changed it.

Nope - the uk govt are excluding many care home deaths.

Every single death is being recorded and published every Tuesday. No death is excluded and deaths from the virus are given in total even where there is no testing.

People are confusing this with the daily update number, where all countries shown on the daily graph save France are only recording hospital deaths. It’s been explained why. It’s due to speed of reporting and accuracy, and is only there to provide the direction of travel as quickly as possible.

Germany are not reporting as virus deaths those deaths where the person is believed likely to have died anyway. We are.

Could you point me at last Tuesdays figures then please...?
BBC are still using the 14,576 hospital only numbers as i type.
Thats not the full UK number.

Yesterday Hancock confirmed to Piers that released hospital patients are not tested for Coronavirus before they enter a care home. That is criminal.

Beware of the Risen People

That’s not true.

Corona virus can be noted on the death certificate if the doctor believes it to be a factor, whether testing has proved it or not.

The ONS publish the total figures each Tuesday.

They also publish the total deaths (any reason) so a comparison can be made with ‘average’ death rates in other years. The latest figures published were foe 3 April, where they showed 6,000 additional deaths compared to a normal year, with approximately 3,700 of those having the virus noted on the death certificate. Of those, many were not in hospital and were not tested.

My 89 year old mother died in a nursing home just under two weeks ago having had a very sudden raging temperature and great difficulty breathing, within a couple of hours she had passed away. She did have underlying problems such as COPD but this happened very quickly. She was not tested for Covid and it was not on the death certificate but it appeared very much like it. The funeral directors told me they were treating deaths like this as “query Covid”. Unfortunately I’ve had the “shielding “ letter from the government and I’m self isolating for 12 weeks and couldn’t attend the funeral today which was heartbreaking but we’re going to have a memorial service when all this business is over and all the family and friends can come along.
RIP Mam, a big Swans Fan.

It was true according to the news a couple of days ago. A doctor explicitly said that if an elderly person had died and that Coronavirus was suspected but not proven they were encouraged not to include it and list another cause of death, such as Alzheimer's.

I think they are being built in readiness for the worse case scenario, they have to do it.
The gov are having some stick so they have to prepare for the worse, remember this is a scenario that none of us have had to face EVEN the govermant.

There is no way Germany are giving true figures, there is a reason why.
I believe that Germany has such a strong sense of efficency and professionalism that a high figure will reflect poorly on those attributes that they feel are so strong in their culture.

I know this has been hammered home everywhere but the government's handling of the whole thing is really showing now. Slow to act, wrong initial strategy, totally underprepared, poor management of testing, PPE. The result is what we are seeing. Public cannot continue to be falling for the same tired, worn out lines trotted out by Westminster and Cardiff.

It would be refreshing to hear that errors were made even if they have not got the guts to say that they got it totally wrong. It won't happen though. we will still be subjected to the same old "excuses" and "logical explanations".

What is annoying but I guess not surprising is the number of people who believe this Government have done a good job under the circumstances, now that is mind boggling to say the least.

No.

Quite possibly not including people with underlying health issues that they believe would have died even without covid19!?
Sorry but a country with a population of over 80 million and one of nearly 2.4billion(China) to only have the death rate that we are reading does not stack up at all.
