A total waste of time, it won't solve anything if they close pubs, and other non essential businesses.. The only thing it will achieve is put a lot more people out of work.
Why pick on pubs and other non essential shops, when from what I can see no-one gives 2 hoots about the current restrictions,!!
The one about mixing with other households, from what I can see nobody is taking notice, and most people can see that, so why punish business.
The way I feel at this moment in time, no matter what anyone does this won't end, not for a long time..and IMHO i'm more worried about the false information, media propaganda than the virus..
You can just see what will happen, they will shut the pubs, and other non essential, the cases will still rise, and you have to think what is next!!, we will be like France, curfew..
No point in closing the pubs unless you stop supermarkets selling alcohol. All that will happen now is people will buy it from the supermarkets, either drink it on groups on the streets or take it home to drink with friends.
Can’t see many drinking on the street when it’s cold, dark and lashing down as it is for most of the winter.

I honestly don't think anyone is paying attention anymore. I know Dr's and nurses who aren't.
I'll be honest I've got no intention of "staying at home" like back in the spring. I'll be taking the dogs to the beach and going for a surf.

In other words breaking the Laws you want enforced.
You have objected to every policy that has helped reduced the virus. You have actively encouraged the opening of pubs and borders in the mistaken belied you could control the virus. In all the places this approach has been tried it has failed and the cases have rocketed. In places where borders have been kept closed the virus has been controlled. Those are the facts. You oppose closing borders which has worked elsewhere. You opposed the stay local rule which helped bring figures down. You wanted to open borders which actually led to a spike. You wanted pubs open which is partly responsible for it rocketing. You stated when the numbers rose to a 1000 a day it was under under control then it rose to nearly 20 times that. Some control.
Everything you have said about this has been proven wrong. You backed a bar which has now been closed for failing to follow coronavirus rules.
One of the WHO people a couple of days ago suggested the UK looked at the way Asian and Australian countries had dealt with this and learned lessons. You dont want to do this because it affects your free market Johnson type views.
We have the most obese people in Europe by miles ,a land of inactive lazy people taht do nothing to help their fitness levels and thus their physical well being. We're not talking marathons but kid who get puffed and traumatised ay the prospect of walking to school, people who struggle to use the stairs. Overweight means you're heart is working overtime. It ant good contro, really it aint.
We also have a drinking culture where it is seen a cool to get hammered
Some people live very unhealthy lifestyles but stay healthy, some people are very fit and keel over. It's not a guarantee but being fitter usually means being healthier of body AND mind.
If a person is 4/5 stone overweight, the ramifications are or should be obvious.
We need to attack the fast food industry head on for a start;its killing kids health stone dead. It' not a treat to have a McD burger. McD to me has the same ring to it that Thatcher has to some of our punters.
Being 70,I have collected a few pounds and it's an effort to ensure that calories inputting do not exceed that which are burned.
I hate to get personal here but it's within context;my wife had stage 4 breast cancer in 2014 and faced gruelling chemo, radio and 2 operations .The fact that she was very fit for her age and not carrying any excess weight meant she was able to survive .
If you are very overweight,it is entirely the case your chances of surviving gruelling surgery are diminished.
No need to run miles at all. Skip as I do for 5 mins twice a day and do 100 sit ups and some stretches . Avoid take away food and sugar whenever possible.
Fitness helps your well being mentally as a workout releases goodness into your systme to fight diseases and ailments.

stay safe contro
Ty and you too. Even top athletes get laid out from viruses like the flu and stomach bugs.
Being overweight has nothing to do with physical fitness. People confuse health with fitness. they are not the same
Gyms are more about body beautiful than fitness. most bodybuilders wouldn't run a mile or do a round in the boxing ring, but they look good

I’ll be off to my local tonight as I have for the last few Fridays.
You have to book a table that are well spaced apart. There’s a QR code scanner for track and trace on entry, next to the mandatory hand sanitizer. You have to wear a mask until seated and there is only table service. If you need to stand up and move (eg use the toilet) you have to wear a mask.
At 9:45 your bill arrives and you have to be out by 10. Customers are all respectful of this and the other rules.
The landlord was a diamond during lockdown, even shopping and delivering from the cash and carry for the local elderly.
Being fit doesn't give any protection and it has nothing to do with the immune system. Health and physical fitness are completely different
No they're not. Covid is a respiratory and vascular disease having an optimum level of fitness will improve your outcomes whether you have covid or cancer.
In fact probably significantly reduces your chances of getting ill with both.
I'm 44 with a resting HR of about 57 bpm that has got to put me in a decent place if I get covid, far better than if I was obese and had diabetes. I'm in that position because of the gym.

I don't want the stay at home law full stop. If Drakeford brings it in I will absolutely not be sticking to it.
I'm not going in to this again. We are the most interconnected island in the world we cannot close our borders long term. We aren't NZ. You genuinely are stupid if you can't see this.
Pubs in Wales opened with no guidance, last week, LAST WEEK, Swansea council advertised for covid enforcement officers. Drakeford should have had those in place in July.
This entire farce proves how badly Drakeford has treated us in Wales. We were kept in a longer lockdown than England and our cases increased at exactly the same time, and we still have a higher level of virus than England. Pubs will close on Friday or Monday with a month's less takings than England. Need I remind you that for that first month there was no increase in cases in England?
Pubs that weren't complying should have been closed on day one of opening, just look at the Santa Clara in St Clears, after their performance the licencesee should never be allowed to run a pub again. It took weeks to take enforcement action.
Anywhere can operate safely but unfortunately need to be forced to.

Singapore's Changi Airport has 68 million visitors a year. 12 times more than the number of people living there. They have loads of business and tourist customers as well. Have a look at the number of shopping malls on the Orchard Road. The shopping outlets in Changi. These are for foreigners not your native people.
Why do you criticise others who break the law when you intend braking it yourself. Hypocrite comes to mind. We should all be sticking to the rules whoever makes them.
Everything you have suggested has proved wrong. All the countries elsewhere who closed borders have had very few cases. WHO suggest the UK should look at good practice there and follow it. Fact is that throughout June, July and August there were more cases in England than Wales. Whilst the stay local rule was in cases went down far more than in England and as your charts showed the gap has narrowed after the initial surge. Down by half.
You wanted borders and pubs opened. You have that. You said the virus could be controlled. Fact is it hasnt in the UK, France, Spain etc.

The selfish guy is only thinking about himself. He has no thoughts for the old or vulnerable or the NHS workers trying to save lives and not get ill themselves.
I have no time for selfish ppl like that, and if i knew who he was or where he lived i would report him to the authorities i he did

I remember being very fit once, with a pulse rate of 54 and lower, but i still had my share of colds and ailments.
Having your body in good physical condition will not protect you against this virus.

Singapore has less than a tenth of the population of the UK. An absurd comparison.
If you can find a country of 60 million people, who are part of a free market with their neighbours, who happen to be of a similar size and within 20 miles of their border and who have successfully controlled the virus after having a massive outbreak by closing their borders, you may be on to something.
I didn't want hospitality to open, it had to open. If it had opened at the same time as England we'd be in exactly the same position as now but they'd have a few more quid in the bank to stay open longer term.
Why do you think the virus is increasing in France, Spain, Italy and Germany?
I intend to break the law because if that law is passed it is moronic. Who am I going to pass the virus to or contract it from if I take the Dogs for a walk to Caswell? Why can't I go to a car showroom, a furniture shop or go and buy a shirt? When shops opened there was no increase so why, if as rumoured, is Drakeford shutting them again?
The virus can be controlled with adequate test and trace. Today there were less than 9000 tests in Wales, Gething said in the summer we had a capacity for 15000 only to retract that this month saying that was a best case scenario number. WG are as bad as Westminster.

I really hope he doesn’t have to close.
Sounds like a tidy well run place, if all premises were run like this then things would be a lot better. Scotia mentioned the Santa Clara in St Clears, a license to sell alcohol bring responsibilities and if people can’t adhere to the law then they should be prosecuted and lose those privileges. Drakers, Boris et al should have seed prescribed direction to the pubs, if they couldn't adhere to it then it’s a case of not being able to open or loss of licence, but some parties are far more reluctant to act than other.
The current 3 tier system in England is a joke, people in the areas with the highest rates of infection “should avoid” travel etc, which means if they want to go somewhere they can, it’s not enforceable. It’s radio rental!! Boris is advising people not to do something, but he’s not stopping them which is a repeat of what we had in advance of the big March lockdown when people started acting off their own initiative.

Will Thailand do? Just under 70Million, cases/million 53, deaths/million 0.8. Or how about Taiwan? Only 23Million, but cases/million 22, deaths/million 0.3. Or South Korea 51Million, cases/million 490, deaths/million 9.
