We have had this conversation already. Remember, I told you it matters what the law is and not what Government say. I don’t care what they say. Then you went on some rant about not caring. Remember?

The U.K. isn’t claiming to have jurisdiction over other states. You have misread the article. Read it again.

I don’t care what they say, it’s what the law says that matters. Haven’t we been through this already? Remember you ranted about me saying I don’t care what statements they make? We talked about that too, just a few moments ago. It’s like the twilight zone.

Begum is English born and bred she has never held any other citizenship apart from British, British law courts strip her of her citizenship and try to tell another country that she has apparently never been too that she is their problem, blydi hell the brass neck cheek of it is staggering.

Incorrect. Section 5 of the Citizenship Act 1951 states that, a person born outside Bangladesh 'shall be a citizen of Bangladesh by descent' if either of his or her parents is a citizen of Bangladesh at the time of his or her birth. That is their law, not Britain’s. You don’t have to visit a country to be a citizen of it. Especially if they have specific laws set up for that exact scenario. When Begum was 19 she was a duel citizen of U.K. and Bangladesh. Her U.K. citizenship was legally removed, she then became a sole citizen of Bangladesh. They now cannot revoke that due to it leaving her stateless. They can kick and scream if they want. But she is their problem now.

Incorrect, they can take or reject any person they choose, they can make, ammend or change any of their laws just like we can and do and they are not excepting her, they have spoken and spoken clearly, the UK has no jurisdiction over Bangladesh anymore the Empire is gone.

They haven’t amended or changed their laws. They are the same today as they were when the U.K. revoked her citizenship. The U.K. isn’t claiming to have jurisdiction, this is Bangladesh citizenship law. As much as they clearly would like to, unfortunately for them they can’t just verbally say “nahhh” when it suits. At the time of the citizenship revoke, she was legally a duel citizen. Just the fact of the matter.

You can't have dual citizenship in Bangladesh once you are over 21 and she is. And you can't have Bangladeshi citizenship if you have aligance to another state and don't denounce that aligance, which of course she hasn't. That is Bangladeshi law.

She doesn’t have duel citizenship. You get Bangladesh citizenship automatically at the time of birth if a parent is a Bangladeshi National. At the age of 19 she had her U.K. citizenship removed, leaving her sole citizen of Bangladesh, how old she is now is irrelevant, this was done years ago. They now cannot revoke it as it will be illegal leaving her stateless. International law supersedes national law, so she is a citizen of Bangladesh.
