Team News
Birmingham City have question marks over the availability of Scott Hogan and Ivan Sanchez for the Good Friday appointment with Swansea City. Head coach Lee Bowyer has revealed both have had injections to address issues they have been managing for several weeks. Sanchez has been labouring with a hernia and has missed time training, while Hogan has been playing with a back problem — but will train on Wednesday. Blues face third-placed Swansea at St Andrew’s on Friday evening in a televised encounter with a side looking to resuscitate their hopes of an automatic promotion place.

Andre Ayew and Conor Hourihane will continue to be assessed ahead of Swansea City's Championship clash with Birmingham City. Ayew suffered a knock late on while playing for Ghana during the international break after Hourihane was withdrawn in the early stages of Swansea's defeat to Cardiff City with a hamstring issue. Steve Cooper has confirmed the pair have not trained ahead of Friday's trip to the Midlands, although they will be given the chance to prove their fitness for the clash with Lee Bowyer's side. "Andre’s back and everyone knows he had a bit of a knock," said the head coach. "Conor Hourihane came off against Cardiff so those two players have got a chance of playing but they’re not training at the moment. "We’ll see how it goes by the time Friday comes.

Swansea Independent view
Ayew and Hourihane will be subs on Friday with Lowe and Whittaker up front, Lowe playing a wider role.

Swansea City need look nowhere else for blame if they don’t make it to the premier league 1st Apr 2021 12:28
It’s the last part of the season, those final games where destiny in the case of Swansea City is firmly within their own making. The last two months haven’t made pleasant reading for the swans, it hasn’t been at all good. However, the race is on and of the swans fail, they will only have themselves to blame. 1

This is it no more excuses : Stand up and be counted Swansea City ! 2nd Apr 2021 10:13
The international break came a week too late for Steve Cooper and his tired and leggy squad, yes, it’s a time to rest and assess the players and Swansea’s chances. There are new injuries, not at all assisting the final run in for the swans. Let’s have a look on what could, can, and may well happen. 0

Swansea City not fit for purpose yet again ! 3rd Apr 2021 09:00
As if it couldn’t get any worse for Steve Cooper’s swans, once high flying after beating Norwich City 2-0 and in second place in the league, they are now just a very ordinary football team that seems rudderless and without direction. The latest defeat to Birmingham City was nothing more than dreadful, not only to watch but in its administration from the touchline. 0

Nothing More to follow, nothing more to say.

This has been an utterly appalling performance. These players look mentally shot. Terrified. Comically bad

First he gets lucky after running into a bunch of players and leaving his net wide open, only to pat the ball to a Birmingham player five seconds later.

He's the worst goalkeeper we've had in perhaps 15 years.

The only consolation for me is I haven't got to drive home after going to St Andrews.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

If we have we should be resting the main players and giving any promising back-ups/youngsters a game.

EDIT: or even try some riskier tactics, not go out looking not to lose.

I'm not even particularly annoyed by that. We've done it to a few so it's only fair when it happens to us. What goes around etc. etc.

Anybody who has watched us and seen Watford's form last 6 weeks knew the autos were gone already anyway. Play-offs here we come- if we can piece together a few more points.

Anyone think the keeper should have taken that instead of slapping it straight back. Dhanda will get stick but got to look at the keeper as well.

So angry after that performance. Cooper get out of my club.

Pattern was clear 10 minutes in, Cooper's slept to another poor performance and this time the late penalty award didn't bail him out.

Not going to earn a bumper new contract like that, Steve.

Dreadful again.

Team was very poor and crying out for subs.

Very, very poor game management by Cooper.

I think he needs to go England under 21s.

No desire on the pitch or off.

Harsh pen. No blame on Dhanda.
Will we get three weeks of Birmingham cheats.
TBH got what Cooper deserved.
Embarrassing.
Cooper Tate etc looked like they were waiting for a bus - the Routledge and Whittaker subs were an insult to the players.
Oh I forgot We are third and Cooper is a genius.

After bringing Routledge on in the 87th minute.

Other teams have figured us out and did so months ago and what has Cooper done, nothing but keep on putting out the same team playing the same way and hoping we will sneak a win.

Even Trundle is questioning our desire.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
