Being a lovely fella, from a respected family that appreciates what he’s got doesn’t mean you can’t make immature decisions. They don’t go hand in hand.

That is what looks like has happened here. Doesn’t mean he’s horrible, it’s a mistake. I’m sure he will learn from it. But it may explain a thing or two that goes deeper than footballing reasons.

Agree with that

You are reading what you want to read because you are annoyed that you couldn’t further your point with me in the other thread, nothing more.

Repeating what you heard is casting aspersions on somebodies character, it’s second hand information.

I am commenting on what has factually happened and the reflection of that in someone’s decision making. It’s quite the difference.

I think it’s a pretty fair observation that while we clearly perform better with him in the side there could be external things keeping him from the line up - decision making such as this may show the immaturity which Cooper has seen.

He is 20 years old after all, maturity funnily enough comes with maturing. That’s not a slight on the bloke in any way shape or form. Stop being so silly.

You are making assumptions that he may have a bad attitude because he’s made a mistake and you can’t understand why he doesn’t get into a back three.

Unlike yourself, I’m not second guessing anything, I’m just repeating what I’ve been told.

I’m not going to argue this further with you. I think it’s really poor form to publicly question a players attitude on the back of a stupid mistake.

Agree, lets hope its a one off and learns from it. A repeat and serious questions will be asked. Remember Steven Caulker and learn from there.

I haven’t made any assumptions, you have read what was convenient to you.

I said it “may” show the reasoning past footballing ability why he isn’t being played. Regardless how nice he is, he clearly made an immature decision befitting of someone of his age.

But you continue being a drama Queen if it makes you feel better.

You're reading to much into why he doesn't get picked because you've gone on and on about how much of a better side with him in it.

It's nothing to do with his attitude. Cooper just prefers Naughton on the right side of a three and at the moment it looks as if he prefers Bennett in a 2 next to the ball playing Guehi.

Has time on his side, big part of the future.

Correct.

Anyone pretending this wasn’t an example of ill judgement of immaturity is an idiot or a liar. Doesn’t mean he has a bad character, doesn’t mean he’s a bad person - it means he has the potential to make immature decisions.

I think it’s clearly a valid train of thought that this may well be one of the non footballing reasons keeping him from the side. Which is something I suggested well before this news broke, football management had nuances you see, there is far more to consider than pure ability.

He will learn from it.

I haven’t read anything into it, I haven’t suggested any conclusions.

I said immature attitude such as this may well be part of the reasoning for not being picked, which is the most obvious of observations.

It seems like a hell of a coincidence I literally suggested a matter of days ago that it may not be ability but maturity and attitude not matching with Cooper currently only for a few days later him be sent home for breaking covid rules and going to a house party.

I am simply voicing what is in front of us. You are welcome to disagree.

The Swans will learn later this week if Public Health Wales require him to complete a 10 day self-isolation period before returning to action.

He could miss 3 matches.

If he hadn’t been caught he could have contracted COVID and then passed it around the squad at training resulting in numerous positive tests and subsequent postponements of matches. At this late stage that could have derailed our promotion prospects for good having to play three times a week for the last couple of weeks of the season.

He’s young and made a foolish mistake but it could have had massive consequences.

Of course he’s made an immature decision. No one is disputing that.

It’s implying that he ‘may’ have attitude issues, just because of one stupid mistake I take umbrage with.

Hide behind ‘may’ all you like, just try not to cast aspersions on our players when you’re quite obviously just assuming.

This is a very fair point. Undoubtedly stupid and something he should learn from. Could have had huge ramifications.

He’s far from the first or highest profile to have done this, though that doesn’t excuse it in any way. Just put it down to a young lad doing something stupid and be glad it didn’t snowball.

Immaturity and rash decision making is absolutely a trait with attitude, it’s not very professional is it. But it’s something that comes with age.

Again you are acting up and making a drama because you couldn’t put your point across on the other thread and have got your back up. Get over it.

I haven’t assumed anything, show me an assumption I have made.

I said this sort of immature decision making may well be one of the reasons keeping him out of the side, because playing wise we have played better with him than without. If you think this was a sound and mature decision he made then more power to your elbow.

It is not casting any assertions to say that this is a sign of immaturity. Because that’s exactly what it is.

Let’s have another 10 page discussion. I’m sure it will be fruitful.

So you admit it’s stupid, you admit it may be down to his age... yet anyone else saying that is beyond the pale?

Being stupid and immature is an issue with attitude. You understand that right? But not a terminal one, and one that most will learn and grow out of. Cabango may well do that and I have no reason to doubt it.

Nobody is saying he is a horrible person or a disruptive personality. A young and immature one with a potential to make such an unprofessional decision such as this. It’s essentially a fact based on evidence isn’t it?

The decision he made was a calcualted one. He is smart enough to make the call.

It was worth while going ahead with the party he hosted although it was against the rules. It took a risk with the teams fortunes for the sake of one party.

A calculated risk that:

a) No one at he party had Covid 19. (after all numbers are dropping)
b) He would not get reported.

This assessment was wrong. Caught. It does bring into question as to how important is his footballing career to him if he is prepared to take on a risk like this.

Jack Wilshire the greatest talent of his time now nowhere. Leaving out his injuries there is still the question mark over his commitment and many of us have the image of him inhaling some recreational gas in a jacuzzi.

He needs a serious talk with someone and I personally would not play him again this season with Brandon Cooper an able deputy desperate to see some game time.

This could of course affect Cabango' s Euro 2021 chances. That is up to serial miscreant Giggs or Robert Page. At least he will be fresh and rested.

Dr P. If you don’t believe the explanations many of us have given as to why Cooper would play Naughton, Bennett, Guehi, that’s fine.

I can see why people are angry, he is well looked after by the club, has everything done for him and in return for a big salary he is asked to be professional. Everyone makes mistakes, but if this was a politician, police or any other profile position the outcry would be very loud indeed.

I’ve no faith in football to govern itself since Mark Bosnich was done for taking cocaine and said later it was the best thing that could have happened to him as he now has a successful media career.

Yes he does prefer Naughton, despite us playing better with Cabango.

As I mused a few days ago, that may be down to attitude or maturity as opposed to footballing reasons. Today’s story adds weight to that thought as it’s clear that he has the potential for said immature and irresponsible behaviour.

You can copy any post you like, the response won’t change.

There is no narrative other than he has made an immature and irresponsible decision. Something I mused may be the reason he prefers the more experienced Naughton. I haven’t implied he has an attitude problem, I am making the factual observation that there is clearly a flaw in his character currently - which often comes with youth.

You are being a drama Queen after you were unable to further your point on the other thread.

The fact this story has come out and added weight to what I was saying has clearly annoyed you. Sorry about that.
