Wales eye a World Cup spot in the USA : All the info on the big game 22nd Mar 2026 12:46
Wales take on Bosnia & Herzegovina at home on Thursday night (7:45pm) in a straight forward knock out which will determine a final tie against Italy or Northern Ireland. Again this is a home tie for Wales (if they win) on Tuesday March 31st again (7:45pm) 0

Wales squad assembles at the Vale for huge World Cup qualifier but at what cost ? 23rd Mar 2026 13:01
The Swans have two players in the Wales squad this time around chosen by head coach Craig Bellamy, but also contribute across the board from their academy players who have since moved on to other clubs. Despite certain media trying to mention Cardiff City’s call ups at every turn this is an ‘all for one’ cause this Thursday evening. 0

What can Cardiff City offer Wales on Thursday night ? 25th Mar 2026 13:59
There has always been a battle between the two main clubs in Wales, Swansea City and Cardiff City. Coming together on anything rarely happens, most certainly internationally and definitely between the fans. However, there is little choice come Thursday night at 7:45pm. It’s absolutely massive. 1

Wales : Huge game as Ben Davies gets a golden cap 26th Mar 2026 08:20
Tonight we will see how Wales manage a high pressure game in their World Cup semi final qualifier against Bosnia & Herzegovina. It’s a home tie and must be settled on the night and if required extra time then penalties will decide who goes through. 0

A classic case of bottling it I’m afraid. Shame.

Bellamy to blame for me, Cullen on at CM was crazy and Harris just isn’t a good player. Was like we were down to 9

Well, that team should have done it.

Penalties again.

Oh well.

When you have players from the 3rd tier it’s inevitable unfortunately.

Poor from Bellamy taking James & Brookes off (unless I missed them being injured).

Gave the corner away rather needlessly I thought from which B&H scored.

B&H though not having the main chances always look like they could score if they want to. I hope Wales can pull this off but it’s going to be tough.

God knows how we concede from that corner, a repeat of the previous two and we don't defend the near post!

Johnson, Harris and Cullen need to go, trouble is, is that Wales are struggling for quality I thought Sorba Thomas did ok when he came on and got into the game, that youngster Da Silva did very well, but Bellars most be rueing the decision to have taken Dan James off so early he was torturing them, brilliant goal by and that chance where he hit the bar, on another day etc.
J James was cooked he run himself into the ground before going off, Harry Wilson was exhausted at the end as well, pity that he couldn't have sorted his feet out with chance he had, the back four did well Rodon, Nico and Lawlor and DaSilva who I mentioned above Ampadu and Brooks were decent as was Darlow.

Strength in depth we lack as always, unfortunately.

I think the red mist came down with Brooks, but he looked knackered I thought DJ still had it in his legs when he went off, Bosnia breathed a sigh of relief when he went off.

I was there on the night Bodin smashed his penalty against the bar which was heartbreaking, this tonight however feels a lot worse as Bosnia were there for the taking.

Bellamy needs to take a good, long look at himself tonight after some questionable decisions on subs and tactics for the second half, not very often you can make things worse by bringing subs on but tonight was one of those occasions - no impact whatsoever which encouraged Bosnia to push forward.

Why on earth are we not sticking tight on a corner to the only threat they had is anyone's guess, why leave Nico Williams to mark Dzecko...please someone explain, I thought this was just a Swansea thing putting small guys in to mark the big guys?

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger they say but this just feels so self inflicted. You can gain as many coaching badges as you want Mr Bellamy and philosophise as much as you want but the fact is he missed a great opportunity tonight and only he will know why.

On a SCFC note it just shows how far Cabango's standards have slipped this season when he cant even make the team, he should now be a regular so needs to pull his finger out if he wants a good internatiuonal career ahead of him.

Totally agree
Our subs definitely weakened us ,Harris and and Cullen gave nothing tonight
Also ,Johnson really is an enigma for me ,he looks bang average a lot of the times I’ve watched him like tonight and doesn’t seem to do anything , yet he stayed on the full game
Broadhead should have come on instead of Harris as he’s in form and does make things happen and maybe Sheehan instead of Cullen,as he can pick a pass ,we were screaming for Sorba to come on but when he did his crosses were really disappointing

Having said that we hit the woodwork twice and if those chances had gone in ,we’d be having a whole different debate

Just got back from the game.
I had a bad feeling it wouldn’t be our night throughout the day and so it passed, but we could and should have won that. We hit the woodwork a few times and had a couple of other good, Bosnia are a big team and they looked dangerous from the set piece and when the crosses came in, but that was it.

Our crossing was poor, when the ball did come in our players who were generally much smaller were out muscled and out jumped. We had plenty of gas, and got behind them, but not enough numbers in the box when we needed it. I thought our subs were poor, I’d have kept Dan James on, hooked Brennan Johnson off, and gone with Sorba Thomas, James along with Broadhead, because they were very susceptible to pace.

Towards the end of the second half, they began dictating the tempo in midfield and we needed to grab the momentum back, we didn’t and they scored. Taking Jordan James off ( he had a fair few knocks) meant we lost control, Cullen wasn't the answer. Bellamy should have done more, hopefully he’ll learn from tonight and we go again better prepared.

He definitely made the wrong subs. Okay, Jordan James was injured but replacing him with Cullen was not the answer. Mark Harris should be nowhere near that team. The end product from Sorba Thomas was awful. The majority of his crosses went to their player. Dan James should definitely have stayed on. He was causing them problems. I thought Brendan Johnson was poor again and he should have been replaced by Broadhead. When we were under pressure he should have brought on another defender. We went to pieces after we scored.

That’s a really good accurate assessment.

They played to their strengths throughout. They are a big physical well organised old school side. We played well with good movement and almost 20 goal attempts means that we still deserved to win it.

Our subs were the main issue. Mark Harris ….. a willing runner but he is not an international footballer. Cullen also found it difficult to get into the game. Thomas on the left dud some good things but we missed James.

Their young sub on their left was outstanding and made a difference.

Bellamy has done well but he made costly errors last night that contributed to our downfall. I’ve read some silly comments about “ lacking bottle “ etc but that was far from the truth. There was plenty of that on display, it’s a cruel way to lose ( penalty shoot out ).

Only an idiot would eat a turkey curry on Christmas day

Atmosphere quite ordinary for such and important game.
I tried unsuccessfully to get a ticket.
Millennium Stadium would have given us more than double the crowd and more.
I dont buy into this Cardiff City Stadium fortress nonsense.
May have been when we had the class of 2016 but sadly no longer.
We are a team in transition with no strength in depth.
Time to reassess and play our major matches back in the Millenium Stadium.
To reiterate - Atmosphere last night very disappointing.
Not the 12th man that BBC ram down our throats.

So , another one
Our chances evaporated when Moore got injured
Limited he may be but he’s big strong and heads a ball well
He would have buried Sorbas crosses
And it is about bottle
I’ve read some questioning this most basic attribute
It’s about mental fortitude and to fo right things at the right time
Defending at a corner for example Dzeko a proven deadlygrafer of a ball marked by a lad 7 years inches shorter
A coach who brings off Dan James who was devastating replaced by Liam Cullen who could never be
Decisions at crucial times = Bottle

Penalties , premier league striker taking a penalty and seeing the ball fly onto Row D. Bottle
These are professionals who , when under pressure, do basics , like eye on ball , head still and don’t lean back
Bottle

Thankfully, no injuries to our players and no further pain in this competition as Italy would have thrashed us

A case of being close , again

Bottle ? You bet it is

Wales are a physically small team who try to play pretty but bigger teams see them off
Seen this film before

A word of Bosnia , fantastically loud fans who kept their passion every minute of the game and drove their team forward . A country who’s had a deadly history
I’m quite pleased for them but Italy will kill them off

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

Unsurprisingly I see things differently, you are obsessed with size and physicality. We should have scored more when dictating the game, we hit the woodwork a couple of times. We let them back into the game when we made the substitutions, whether that was bad decisions or lack of quality options is open to discussion. We have never beaten them and lost on penalties not during the game so strength and physicality had nothing to do with it. They scored their penalties and won we missed ours and lost.

The final is too close to call Italy home are much stronger than away and Bosnia were very unlucky not to go through in the ground stage, I think Bosnia will shade it.

That team will do it.

Brenda Johnson was a f@ckind disgrace. Bosnia were to rough for him he didn't try and take one player on. He passed the ball to whoever was nearest to him as soon as he could, he couldn't wait to get rid of the ball he's an utter sh!t house.🤬

When were 1-0 with 20 to go a team should be solid and calm and in control. The Bosnia's were getting desperate and leaving big gaps at the back. Then Bellers made his disastrous changes.

An experienced coach would have made Bosnia pay. Put on a defender Kiapko and hit them with James and Sorba running them ragged.

Wales did not have the tactical nous that experienced European coaches have. Push Ampadu back and bring on Sheehan and wait for them to over extend.

Unsurprising to see you get personal , again
Not obsessed but it’s fact
Last night the bigger team won
Bigger defenders mean better clearances , and powerful headers away
Moore would have buried Thomas crossing which was good but futile as nobody there to convert them
As another punter has said, Johnson was appalling , a real bottler and lacking guts
They got stronger as the game went on and that’s why they took control
That’s because they were physically superior
If you don’t think physicality is part of football then we will always be at each others throats

Did you note how our players just bounced off their players

Mentally , we were lacking and the crowd , as been stated subdued, whereas the noise came from opposition
Odd

Why are we playing Tuesday should be the question. With the Easter programme, that could be 4 games in 10 games for some of the players. Galbraith will be out on his feet.

With the teams knocked out, the managers should completely rotate the team and rest those who played last night. I won't accept the "get back to winning ways" point.

You seem to have over looked the fact that Wales were the better team. And overall did well. We hit the bar twice and deserved to get through although they had good moments which you would expect.

A shoot out is a lottery. We all know that. If you want to talk about “ bottle “ whatever that means exactly then look no further than all of the players who stepped up to take a penalty.

You simply seem to try to be clever with the benefit of hindsight. That’s easy. When things go wrong to point fingers. You always do it but with little or no understanding of the subject matter. Always looking to find fault and to criticise. It’s quite sad really. At least find a subject that you know something about.
