I was at their game yesterday against Bristol city and they were poor, but TBF so were Bristol.

My mate I went with was expecting things to get nasty if they went behind, but in fact their support was pretty good

Strange how Whitacker who has scored all their goals was stuck out on the right wing and didn't see enough of the ball.

Hope they stay up, come on you Janners

Until yesterday, I was with you... Then I read something from a few fans of theirs saying we were the worst side they had played all season (cannot disagree with that on the last match) and they HOPE we go down. Lets hope they are eating their words next week

"few fans" being the operative words.

I think on the whole there's still good camaraderie between the two sets of fans.

I mean I went to Plymouth for a preseason game before we got promoted and they have a nice ground there and would be good to see them stay up. I worked with a green army fan and often chatted about scores - You are probably right, just a few.

There is only one side I WANT to see drop and that is Millwall. Mainly because of the violence I saw there when I was growing up and being dragged there as a kid. They are no better than they were all those years ago.

I think we've had a few young players on loan there in recent years. Arkell Jude-Boyd is currently playing for them until the end of the season.

Sinclair Armstrong was there for a while.

Warnock was interested but Argyle have decided to put the DoF in the hotseat until the end of the season. Interesting choice.

They need to take a fcking step away and have a breath. Don't do this.

He'll be down there, at most, two days a week. He'll go and do Thursday training, Friday set pieces, Saturday game and be in a car away from there at 17.01. He'll have a lackey doing the donkey work in the interim - his "backroom staff" at Birmingham was John O'Shea and Ashley Cole - great episode of Mastermind that one. He'll sign a load of old mates on the same arrangement - sort yourselves out the rest of the week, see you in Plymouth on Thursday.

What are they thinking ?
Might as well give Mark Hughes or Frank Lampard a ring while they're at it.

The complete state of him these days. I think to be a long term manager you need to keep yourself in decent physical condition to keep up with the workload and stress over the years.

Alex Ferguson still looked in good health well into his 70s, whereas Rooney looks like he's been a homeless bum for the last 20 years. Hard to imagine he was still playing professional sport only 3 years ago.

So odd how he seems to have accepted his lot as a bog standard Championship manager. Why? He did an OK job at Derby, nothing disgraceful and could've walked away reputation in tact.
The more of these jobs he takes the more everyone remembers him as a fat waster as opposed to Man United's record goal scorer and one of the best players England have ever produced.
Just go and be a Sky Sports pundit FFS.

Should they appoint Rooney it will be interesting to see who the bookies' list as relegation candidates. Plymouth could well be one of them.

Rooney is younger than Luka Modric who is playing in a champions league final next week

I do quite like Rooney and how he could just sit back on his millions but he is desperate to be a manager and having a go at doing it, This is probably his last chance though after his last few jobs. Saying that Plymouth would be mental to appoint him

Plymouth are mad to even consider Rooney. If they go ahead, he'll be sacked before Xmas, with Argyle in bottom 3.

Perhaps Plymouth is the only destination in the Championship, he would have to manage in League One otherwise which is beneath him

Plymouth must be thinking they could tap on his “reputation” to attract players from his network of former clubs and premier league clubs

It is a death wish I’m not wishing on anyone more so Plymouth, unless we are one of the 3 odds-on favourites to go down next season!

We are living in absolutely crazy times and I'm not just talking about footall.

However, getting back to football, please give Wayne the job, for no other reason that we are slowly climbing ourselves away from being the worst run club in the Championship!

Reading some of the posts on the Plymouth Argyle fans' forum some of them seem to believe that having a name like Wayne Rooney helming the club would attract some much needed investment and that maybe, given a full summer, he'll do a better job than at Birmingham.

Sounds like clutching at straws but understandable to be trying to find some kind of silver lining.

According to the BBC . He will be confirmed very soon .
Plymouth haven’t done much research on this.

Relying on his old mate Dewsnip to get him the job. His media mates have given up looking stupid so he's relied on an old Everton Academy mate.

From the beeb.

"From a Birmingham fan - don't go near the puppet. Zero man management skills, no clue tactically, and runs the players down publicly. Anyone who thinks he did OK at Derby - they was down to Rosenior not Rooney."

Extraordinary that having stayed up and shown real style and fight and they go for someone with a 26.1% win rate.

Never knowingly right.

Well, Rooney’s work at Birmingham kept Plymouth up once. Maybe he can do it again. :-)
