Excellent report and nothing to apologise for. Your reports are always superb because they reflect how you feel rather than how you think you should feel. And that's what I want, anyway.
For what it's worth, which is zero, I felt the same about yesterday, the negativity when the game was clearly there for the taking hardly smells of an inspirational manager.
And for two experienced campaigners in Cook and Dunne to keep getting in each other's way just shows the folly of all the tinkering. Stick with this team for a few games.

Only watched the 2nd half, but purely based on that 45 minutes QPR reek of late Cifuentes era style and ambition.
We looked good for 15/20 minutes and then Utd took control and really should have won.
As soon as Frey came on then that was that as we ain't scoring.
Rather than predicting the score can we start predicting how many changes JS will make to the lineup?
Gotta feeling Nourry will pull the trigger on JS at seasons end.

The results were worse with the game model, and have regressed as we look to have slid back into some of the game model’s traits.
It’s Nourry’s job to get our good young players loans so they get game time at a competitive level, progress, and potentially come into the side from Jan onwards. Did he?
Not saying you are wrong about JS getting the bullet at season end. There has to be a fall guy if we fail.
And whilst some of what JS does really annoys me (over tinkering, inverted wingers, not playing Sam Field), there are bigger problems than need addressing than him… |  | | |

Don't take this the wrong way Clive but would always rather have you honest than happy! Great report. Personally think Sheffield press right, they should have won easily. But it's a game of opinions innit, and respect yours, earned by many years of no bullshit, no happy clappy match reports following the basket case that is the Superhoops. Very fair report and you were honest about how you felt about it.
My feeling was it was important to stop the run of losses going into the International break so I was happy with the draw in the end. Felt overall it was also a fair reflection of the 90+ minutes. I do however agree with you that our substitutions changed the momentum of the game in favour of Sheffield United. Whether different substitutions would have changed the outcome of the game we will never know. |  | | |

Excellent report as usual and thankfully you ,we and QPR have 2 weeks to get away then back to October form hopefully and get on a winning streak.
As mentioned many times before the live audience sees things way different than tv viewers and that is highlighted here .
It looked to me that SU were going to pull out that win and not just when Tom Davis took over the game but earlier and giving Hamer MOM is very telling he kept us from losing 3 in the same week which would be miserable .
Our attack is non existant and 1 goal can win games against us so that has to change right now.

Cheers Clive - enjoy your break! God knows we all need one. Although as ever with an international break, my fear is we tend to go back in soft and undercooked rather than firing on all cylinders...
I mean the boom/bust results nature of this club over the last ten years is truly remarkable, regardless of who the players and coaching staff are. How do you break that cycle? Answers on a postcard.
I suppose the only positives to take from Saturday are the performance of Hamer (as you say, as a 37 year old bench warmer, an indictment of our gk recruitment policy), and getting a clean sheet which hopefully will give the defensive unit more confidence. The main challenge for Stephan is getting some cohesiveness out of our attacking options. But apart from Burrell currently, the rest of them blow hot and cold. Must admit I don't envy him with those selection decisions. |  |

i think after the two previous games this week and if i had personally travelled up to Sheffield to a team in the bottom three and seen that game, my opinions would have definitely differed from those that didnt make the trip up there on Saturday.
And its all about opinions, as we see on here, all the time.
I saw it as a reasonable performance and i enjoyed the game from the comfort of my own armchair, admittedly. My view was Sheffield are in a false position and will climb the league after a ridiculously poor start. I felt, we competed reasonably well.
But yes, perhaps, we are not alone with these dreadful losing streaks. Think there is probably five or six other regular Championship clubs that do this regularly also.
At least, we get another two weeks off from all this nonsense !!

Fair summary.
We looked OK for 60 minutes but faded alarmingly in the last 25-30.
United had the better chances and could have won. Not sure either side deserved more than NIL. The Blades are so short of confidence that a more committed performance would surely have seen 3 points heading back to London. However, we don't look too great at the moment, either. |  |

There was one excellent fast move out of defense in the the 1st half I think where we passed the ball forward with speed and great skill through their midfield involving Madsen and Chair but a slightly loose ball when we reached their penalty area meant it CTN. Haven't seen it again on external highlights but it was our best attacking move of the game for me. | | | |

Frey is also playing out of position, but is getting slaughtered for it. It is unfair to play him that deep and expect the best from him. He is gamely giving his all, which is more than get for some who just go through the motions, game in game out. Burrell has been our shining light in terms of goals and commitment between the two International breaks, but if you are going to bring Fey on, you need to let him lead the line and let Burrell play off him. | | | |
