25% of the season gone this weekend: Swans injuries & fixtures that matter22nd Oct 2026 20:36 On-loan teenage ‘sensation’ — not our words — Jeremy Monga will travel with the squad tomorrow as the Swans make the relatively short journey (well, it’s one road, ish) to Shepherd’s Bush to take on QPR at Loftus Road. The news we have is that Jeremy Monga could well make the bench after knuckling down in training over the past week or so.1
Swansea City: Lawrence Vigouroux; Filip Lissah, Ben Cabango (captain), Stephen Welsh, Josh Tymon; Marko Stamenic, Stephen Eustaquio, Elijah Just; Joseph Opoku, Melker Widell, Adam Idah.
Substitutes: Andy Fisher, Jenson Seelt, Jay Fulton, Žan Vipotnik, Jisung Eom, Tom Iorpenda, Goncalo Franco, Tiago Parente, Ross Stewart.
Swansea City : Vitor reflects the weather & his sides performance post match 25th Oct 2026 10:37 Vítor Matos looked as drowned as his side were on the pitch after the 5–0 drubbing at Loftus Road. There was little he could say beyond promising to look back at the game and analyse what went wrong. He has a week to manage that after a day out in W12 ended after fifteen minutes.1

The goals we conceded today were really poor but what was worse was the body language of the players, they looked lethargic and off the pace, polar opposite of recent performance A lot to work on for next week Effort ,pride ,desire and responsibility are non negotiables We go again next Saturday

To me it looked like a Sunday league performance where the players had all been on the p1ss and not gone to bed. That includes the manger who had forgotten to give them a match plan. QPR had the midas touch today and maybe the weather played a part in the first half as we could have scored three in the first 15 as well. Didn't deserve anything from it which is such a contrast from every game this season.

That’s the best summary I’ve read. Forget tactics and team selection, we just collectively didn’t show up. No excuse for it.
Need a big response next week. Anyone 50/50 on going, now is the time to get behind them.

Just watched the highlights reel. Jeez - powderpuff tackling in the build-up to their first goal and what was Widell thinking with that pass he was trying to play that led to the second 😔?? And the 4th goal??? Wow - he just let the ball hit him ☹️
I take nothing away from QPR, but it doesn't help when we're gifting them chances/opportunities like that.

On your last paragraph, that's my attitude.
I will hopefully be sorting my travel arrangements out soon.
Absolutely....now is the time to get behind the team and Matos...though I feel the knives are sharpening for him already Im over 50 years of my supportimg the Swans I have seen us have "blips",even durimg his promotuon years Tosh had a few..... Even when one down yesterday we could have equalised through Idah and Widdell had two scorimg chances had they gone in the came may habe changed.
How many of us would have said we would be where we are after 12 games back in August? Lets get out in force next Saturday amd cheer the lads onto a win against Blacbirn

That indicates staleness to me . Maybe a few tweaks in personnel for the next game . Rest a couple and swap some new faces in . Stewart Monga Seelt Iorpenda

I hope that doesn't suggest things going on behind the scenes. Then again I've got my negative stress head on today.

I completely understand everyone's frustration. When you lose by a scoreline like that, the anger is 100% justified. But overall, I want to try and be as analytical as possible without getting carried away by emotion.
Vigoroux: Sure, it wasn't his finest match, but think about how many times he's saved us this season. When a goalkeeper has to be the man of the match on a regular basis, it's because you have defensive issues. It would be a different story if he was just fundamental because he's flawless on the few occasions opposition teams reach him, and I think that second description fits him best.
Lissah: By far our best defensive player. I'd love to see him play at centre-back, but given our current injuries, it's impossible right now. I really want to see him alongside Welsh at the back again.
Cabango: A proper rollercoaster. When Ben first stepped up to the first team, I thought he'd be our next Rodon or Williams. It's clear he has quality and can reach high levels, but every time he makes a mistake, it reminds us why he hasn't moved on from Swansea like the others.
Defensive struggle: Today the defense looked really vulnerable against the pace and power of QPR's attack. I saw our defenders getting bounced around and left in the dust time and again. We have to address this whenever we face sides built like that.
Widell: I applaud him because he runs like a marathon runner all game with his tireless fighting spirit, and he has occasional flashes of brilliance. But most of the time, he just doesn't have the tactical composure needed for that role yet. That's the second goal he's given away from that position. Sorry, but I'd prefer to see other options tried now—let him either improve or come on as a sub when we're leading or need to press high.
Just: He strikes me as an interesting player, but we spent a decent amount of money on someone coming from a league that, let's be honest, can't compete with the Championship. You can't sign a player based solely on a World Cup group stage where anything can happen. I expect him to improve, but for now, he's struggling with the physical demands and rhythm of British football.
Winger situation: I'm not saying Yeo, Opoku, Eom, or Ronald are bad players, but we are far from having genuine match-winners out wide in this league. They are improving, and I hope they reach a level where they make the difference, but I really want to see Monga soon—I think he can offer us something completely different, just like he did at Leicester City.
Without a doubt, the team collapsed today. Granted, if Idah had scored that shot off the post following Just's pass, things could have been very different. Sure, if we’d converted our early chances, we might think the performance wasn't all bad. But it was a poor game—a side that lost its composure. Now it's time to see Matos rally the squad and establish whether we're locking down a playoff spot (which I think is the bare minimum for us) or if we can push for more.
Finally, I wanted to share something from back home in Mexico. Over in Latin America, we have a term called being 'Canchero'. A canchero team is one filled with streetwise experience, swagger, and grit—seasoned campaigners who, when things get tough, dig deep, rely on their self-respect and raw instincts, and stand tall on any pitch to put up a real fight. Sometimes I feel this Swansea side is missing a bit of that canchero spirit."
The proudest Mexican to love Swansea City

''Take away complaining, and 95% of people would have nothing to say!''
People complain Everyone does It’s just a matter of degrees Some do it in public and are honest about their feelings , others don’t because they feel it makes them look “ negative” and that of course is the death bell for social interaction Those are crippled inside
Anyone can post any sort of hypocritical , disingenuous warlocks in the company of others It’s what you see when you look into the glass that counts Nothing else matters

According to some everyone complains 🙄
Some complain and continually moan, while others sensibly discuss their opinions on how we have played positively and negatively putting forward their suggestions. There is a massive difference in my opinion and we all know who falls into which bracket.
