25% of the season gone this weekend: Swans injuries & fixtures that matter 22nd Oct 2026 20:36
On-loan teenage ‘sensation’ — not our words — Jeremy Monga will travel with the squad tomorrow as the Swans make the relatively short journey (well, it’s one road, ish) to Shepherd’s Bush to take on QPR at Loftus Road. The news we have is that Jeremy Monga could well make the bench after knuckling down in training over the past week or so. 1

Swansea City: Lawrence Vigouroux; Filip Lissah, Ben Cabango (captain), Stephen Welsh, Josh Tymon; Marko Stamenic, Stephen Eustaquio, Elijah Just; Joseph Opoku, Melker Widell, Adam Idah.

Substitutes: Andy Fisher, Jenson Seelt, Jay Fulton, Žan Vipotnik, Jisung Eom, Tom Iorpenda, Goncalo Franco, Tiago Parente, Ross Stewart.

Not sure who you're referring to, Franco possibly? We certainly wouldn't be 4 - 0 down with Franco, Fulton and Eom in the starting 11. Welsh is having a shocker also. Oh well.... off to asda.

Just.

He's done nothing all season and he's straight back into the team in the #10 role again today. It's astonishing how much faith Matos has in him despite his almost total lack of contribution.

But, as I said, it's not really his fault today. We've just been hugely weak defensively. Maybe the players you mentioned would have made us less porous. Eom can certainly consider himself hard done by to be on the bench again.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Top of the table has gone to their heads!

I wouldn't say that, we were top for a while and won matches.

This second half illustrates our ongoing problem of not being able to break a defence down.

You can add Widell to the list as well, for me. He should be assisting and scoring more. Widell's stats: 0 goals, 2 assists this season; 0 goals, 1 assist in 38 appearances last season.

By the way, Just has 0 goals, 1 assist in eleven games and in his 1st season with Swans.

I agree with others who say that Eom should be starting.

Just wondering how long it will take Benny, you know the one who doesn’t care about football or his club to come on and give his 2 cents worth whilst laughing uncontrollably over his keyboard?

Yes, we've had a good start. Admiration of it should be tempered with the acknowledgement of who we've played. Of our seven wins, four have come against teams currently in the bottom five. Three of those were at home. The fixtures have been kind.

If we want to stay where we are then we need to do better against other teams likely to be at the top end. We've barely laid a glove on either West Ham or Southampton and mustered up a grand total of four shots on target in 180 minutes of football against average Sheff Utd and Wrexham teams at home. Teams we might have managed to open up with a bit more emphasis on creativity.

I'm really not sure why it's so verboten to be looking at areas for improvement. We have to create more chances, especially against better organised opposition. If we don't then we're not going to stay top for long.

So. Like I said.

As it stands now five of our seven wins have come against teams in the bottom six. We've scored three goals in four games against sides currently in the top ten, and conceded ten.

We have to do better against the teams we hope to be competing against or we're going to find ourselves rapidly sliding down the table. I hope the complacency doesn't extend to the club as well.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

200 more passes than them ……where though !

What do opposition managers say “ let them have the ball because they don’t always do anything with it “

Wonder if Palace will still be looking at Matos after this

Someone rather optimistically mentioned our 5-0 win in our PL years , i wish they hadn't.

That’s been one of the most inept, disinterested, pathetic performance I’ve seen in some time, especially under Matos. What on earth went wrong there. We couldn’t do any of the v=basics right.

Defensively shambolic. Don't forget, this was the best defence in the league at 3-00. They were woefully slow and disorganised.

Deliveries into their box were awful as well. Tymon had his worst game ever in a Swans shirt I’d say but I’m not singling him out.

The midfield battle was men against boys and as often happens in those circumstances, we were devoid of any luck with the bounce of the ball.

Matos has to earn his money this week as the body language on most of our players for the bulk of the game showed how much the confidence has been stripped from them.

Some churlish people may say that QPR weren’t even that good. Not me, I thought they were excellent. They played with energy, were well organised and most importantly took their chances. They deserved it without a shadow of a doubt.

Over to you Vitor.

Fair play to anyone who made that journey. You can't win them all but absolutely nothing positive about that. Fulton our best player as a half time sub says everything.

There was no second half reaction after being ripped apart in the first, the subs made absolutely no difference in the second, which tells me that tactically our players and staff didn’t know what to do
All talk of going up needs binning if we don’t get a response in the next game and Blackburn have a savvy boss who will look at the video of today and make it hard for us next Saturday
This may have been a one off ,it happens
Matos needs to find his best team ,We’ll find out next week if he knows what that is
