| Should New Zealand be allowed to have a Trans Man take part in the olympics. on 14:13 - Jun 21 with 3448 views | Joe_bradshaw | No. Not in events that involve power and/or strength where men compete against men and women against women. They could take up a horsey event where men and women compete in the same event on equal terms. Alternatively Trans people could set up their own sports associations and compete against each other. If they became very successful over time they could then lobby the IOC to be included in the Olympic Games. | |

It is something we'll eventually look back on with bewilderment that it was allowed to happen.

Ludmila Kratochvilova? I think back to Caster Semenya and there was a big fuss even though she was born a woman. Didn't they want her to take testosterone reducing drugs to level the playing field? Yet now they want to let people with an even bigger advantage compete against natural born women? It just seems really unfair to me.

| Should New Zealand be allowed to have a Trans Man take part in the olympics. on 21:46 - Jun 21 with 3295 views | Glossolalia | An appalling decision. This Hubbard has also competed in weightlifting as a male, and only transitioned at 32. A whole life of natural access to amounts of testosterone many, many times higher than her competitors. The think that adhering to a testosterone limit will negate this huge advantage is utter bollocks. It's strange how so many non-binary or trans individuals, so vocal in their desire to dilute the fact of our binary nature, are so quick to take part in a binary sporting event. I wish no ill on anyone, but I would consider it an even bigger travesty is she medals. And at 43 too. Trans people need to forge their own path. Commandeering the genetically female experience is never the answer. [Post edited 21 Jun 2021 21:47]

| Should New Zealand be allowed to have a Trans Man take part in the olympics. on 00:26 - Jun 22 with 3255 views | Dr_Parnassus | Of course not, not in the division opposite to their biological sex anyway. They are as welcome as anyone else to compete within their biological division. If there ever was a symbol of how bonkers the world is today then this subject is it. There was a normal build Caucasian guy going around the University campuses in America and was asking “Should I be able to identify as a 9 foot, Chinese female?”. The overwhelming answer was “yes”. There is such a fear to offend in this generation, or indeed, to not be seen as offensive, that in order not to be ostracised from polite society and their peers, they happily go with the absurd. It’s so sad to see. The female sprinter Allyson Felix who was more dominant and successful in her discipline on the women’s side, than Usain Bolt was on the men’s... Her lifetime best for the 400m is 49.26 seconds. Based on 2018 data, nearly 300 high school boys in the US alone could beat it. John McEnroe got himself in some bother too, when he said “Serena Williams is the greatest female tennis player of all time”. Then some millennial presenter said “why did you stipulate “female” why couldn’t you just say greatest tennis player”... he replied with the fact that if Serena was competing on the men’s side then she wouldn’t even be ranked in the top 200. From someone who knows the sport very well, he didn’t go far enough. She wouldn’t even be ranked in the top 1000. In fact Karsten Braasch who was ranked outside the top 200 in the men’s side played a set against both Williams sisters in the same night. He beat Serena 6-1 and Venus 6-2, was barely competitive. Then you have the female football players. There was a big debate over here regarding equal pay for the National sides despite massive gaps in interest, money generated and of course talent levels. The Australian women’s team lost 7-0 to Newcastle Jets U-15 boys team. The UFC also allowed biological male Fallon Fox to compete in the women’s division after transitioning to a woman. He smashed everyone and even fractured the poor woman’s skull, until they stepped in and reversed the decision to allow it. Someone could have been killed by this nonsense. The examples are endless. Women’s sport is in a good place right now, it’s gaining some good traction. And despite some idiots like Meghan Rapinoe and others who completely ruin it for others by not realising that female sport has a long way to go and demanding things they have not earned, it’s growing nicely. Allowing biological men to compete with them will kill it in its tracks. It is a rather amusing conflict though because the mad society that is too afraid to offend anyone that isn’t a straight white male, is now going to have to choose between two of its favourite quests. Grab the popcorn is my advice. [Post edited 22 Jun 2021 0:41]

Your point on the current success of women’s sport being on the up is incredibly important IMO. It’s been difficult enough to persuade girls to engage with competitive sport, and now the chance to win has been taken away. This needs a major rethink.

Yeah I saw the fight it was horrific. Correction on that one though, it wasn't the UFC it was another organisation, CCCW, which is a big MMA promotion. Dana White said Fallon would not be allowed to fight women in the UFC. In case the sues me

During Fox's fight against Tamikka Brents on September 13, 2014, Brents suffered a concussion, an orbital bone fracture, and seven staples to the head in the 1st round. After her loss, Brents took to social media to convey her thoughts on the experience of fighting Fox: "I've fought a lot of women and have never felt the strength that I felt in a fight as I did that night. I can't answer whether it's because she was born a man or not because I'm not a doctor. I can only say, I've never felt so overpowered ever in my life and I am an abnormally strong female in my own right," she stated. "Her grip was different, I could usually move around in the clinch against other females but couldn't move at all in Fox's clinch ...". Unbelievable how any bouts were sanctioned. Society should of course accept trans gender people, but that doesn’t mean accepting them as biological women or men. Do you really think if The Rock decided he was a woman tomorrow and wanted to fight professionally he should be allowed to fight against women? Comparing yourself to elite male athletes isn’t the issue. Elite men will always be faster and stronger than elite women. The fastest person on the planet will never be a woman, ever. What about age for example? Do you think someone should be able to identify as whatever age they want despite biological fact? If someone who was 50 wanted to identify as a 10 year old, they can do so and society should understand that people do have these identity issues. But it doesn’t mean we should be allowing them to compete in the U-11’s.
