| Rest of the Championship thread 25/26 on 14:47 - Apr 18 by Lblock | Watched bits of Pompey v Leicester Awful game of football but Leicester look like they just want the trapdoor opened and the season to be over. Rowett and his bench look beaten and I lip read his assistant saying “he’s shit and needs to fcuk off” about one of his own players after a dreadful free kick. Gutted Oxford didn’t get something today but still time for them or the EFL to do the bizz and get WBA in the party |

Same, plus the fans have been put through some right strife. Happy for them. I wonder if any of them could have imagined this when they were playing League One relegation six pointers v Walsall in a stadium 40 miles away from their own.

When I told Pumba, I thought he would be ‘wild’ about Tymon making the list….turns out he was bloody livid.

Striking that not one player from a Premiership relegated team. You’d expect they’d have a couple given they ‘should’ have been good enough to play in the Prem if not win a few matches.

We appear to have really turned around Portsmouth's season. Promotion form since that game.

Gone a lot more direct since ours. No more 60% possession round the oppo box and getting done on the counter.

Hard to argue with most of those. Tymon over Leif Davis would be.my quibble. I think I'd take Scienza over Thomas as well.

I wonder how the guy who was feeling the worst he'd ever felt about Leicester ahead of the FA Cup game last year is feeling now... 1 win since they fired Marti...they were wobbling but he'd have kept them up even with the deduction I think, they've really collapsed since then. At least the one win wasn't against us!

More concerned that Waaaaall might get the automatic spot. I am expecting Ipswich to get second and Southamption to win the playoffs but who knows this season.

I have no problems with anyone else getting promoted. Millwall in the Prem would be hilarious (and well deserved). For the Disney/Hollywood Wrexham fairy tale to come true just does not bear thinking about.

I think Millwall might do it. Their last two fixtures are Leicester (A) and Oxford (H). You’d expect them to get 6 points against two already relegated sides. They couldn’t ask for easier fixtures really. That would take them to 85 points. Ipswich would need 9 points from their last 4 games to get the 2nd spot as their GD is far superior. The play: Charlton (A) tonight, West Brom (A), Southampton (A), and QPR (H). They can basically afford to drop points in one game but not two. It could be very close. The proximity of us in their last game means they’ll probably go up as we always seem to play a promoted side in our last game!

Personally hope they manage to do it, but I suspect that either Ipswich or Southampton will get 2nd spot. A club that has a similar average gate to ours is punching above its supposed weight and should be the blueprint for us to follow. First team achievements aside, they outperform us at all levels. As a category 2 academy, their youth team reached the semi-finals of the FA youth cup a few years ago. Now that's a serious achievement. Their development squad, like Charlton's, regularly finish above ours. All achieved, no doubt, in the absence of ologists. As much as I don't like them, there's a grudging respect from me for how they are facing up to the big behemoths in this league. [Post edited 22 Apr 17:22]

Millwall win their last two and Ipswich beat Charlton and WBA, but lose to Southampton. 90th minute on last day it stands at Ipswich 2 QPR 2, then 94th minute Mehmetiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii It's what we do.
