90 mins on his career in football with big QPR fan and thoroughly decent lad James Allcott. I know Ollie isn't everybody's cup of tea but there's loads of good stuff in here and James is one of us.

Played in a great QPR team in the 90s and always gave 100%
* Managed the team from the lowest point it had been since the mid 1960's to promotion and a secure position in the Championship https://bluestacks.vip/ https://luckypatcher.pro/ https://kodi.software/

It does p*ss me off the amount of fans who have a dislike for Ollie! ... He loves our club and sometimes gets a bit over passionate but Christ Almighty give me that any day of the week.
So in summary (and apologies for yet another Ollie post)...
* Played in a great QPR team in the 90s and always gave 100%
* Managed the team from the lowest point it had been since the mid 1960's to promotion and a secure position in the Championship
* Managed again/ offloaded a lot a dead wood/achieved survival in the Championship whilst bringing in a number of young players (and not relying on loan players from the Prem).

Do we have any fans who dislike Ian Holloway?

I, for one, cringe every time they put a microphone near his mouth, but that doesn't mean i don't absolutely love the guy and wish him nothing but happiness. I think there's a difference between not believing he's cut out to be a modern-day diplomat/football manager and disliking him. I'd be questioning the heart of any QPR fan who told me they didn't like the bloke.

I think they got rid of him because he talks inappropriately at times. Can't have that in 2019. I think he knew this, but couldn't stop himself and he's never taken admission of it. Talks about the job he did, but it was his interviews made him untenable really.

Dislike him, though? Not in a million years and i'd hope none of us do.

I have said it before and it bears repeating: I love that man.

plenty seem to hate him, only had to go on twitter when he was manager and in the year since to see people's anger towards him whatever he did

It's available on Acast and Spotify as a podcast and can be downloaded from there

you can find plugins for your web browser to allow you to save YouTube videos, it's pretty simple to do. I think there is also a website where you can paste the URL in and it saves the video for you

I agree there were many on twitter that absolutely slated him as a manager and person which always confused the hell out of me, he is someone that cared, who gave his all when playing for us and got us promoted. Some fans will never be happy and just like to moan, many worse managers have got away with a lot less

Poll: Of the 3 linked away, who do you think will still be a QPR player come February?

Leicester stuff fascinating - 50 players all on fantastic contracts, no one wanting to go out on loan and Madaric telling him who to play!

Steve Parish refusing to pay him what was 'only' verbally agreed also a new one on me!

Fascinating interview, with some clues to how he coaches as well.I find it impossible to have a harsh word on Ollie.I find myself defending him.The recent podcast and this film convince me what a decent job he has done for our club whenever called upon.

3 mistakes for every goal.4 seconds to close down to make the manass back or sidewards.Talk to the man pressing-all gems- thank you Mr Holloway

Thank you Ollie.

If the club are stretched to the rafters on their budget then why do they keep spending millions on sacking managers and their staff who have (for the most part) fulfilled their remit.

All managers play up to the media, and all managers get wrapped up in their bubble when managing and end up berating referees, both are part of the job. The difference with Holloway is that he cares about the club.

Good point (again) - yet when some of us raise questions about Lee 'Teflon' Hoos, Sir Les et al in consequence, we're supposedly prosecuting a spiteful agenda instead of pointing out the painfully obvious.

Poll: Where will we finish now?

Mittal's 3%? Source?

I thought they had reduced their holding from 33 to 25%

Do keep up at the back!

In 2016 a restructure at the club saw Mittal reduce his shareholding in QPR from 30% to 11%.

Tony Fernandes - 55% (down from 69%)
Ruben Gnanalingam - 33%
Mittal - 11% (down from 30%)

In 2018 another shake-up saw Ruben increase his stake further. Mittal's share dropped to just under 3%. QPR's accounts for 2018/19 show:
Ruben Gnanalingam - 51.01%
Tony Fernandes - 45.85%
Mittal - 2.94%

For convenience I've named the individuals but shares are held by companies they own.

You misinterpreted my post as being negative to Ollie, I was being positive. Short term someone like ollie or Bircham would be only one's to save us because they care about the club and the fans

Asked him once if I could come and watch the first team train down in Acton.
No problem turned up, ended up in a dressing room with him while he changed, bollock naked showing me a scar where Ince went into him after 2 mins at the cup game at old Trafford . Paul ince is a wnaker game. Proof he said big teams etc getting away with stuff.

In the training session ended up as a target man with the emphasis on attacking with no players past the ball. Those were his tactics back then. Also took a penalty against Chris Day. Never hit something sweeter. Day told me I was better then our strikers. Steve Palmer very cordial that day and mentioned it didn’t help being booed off at half time at a previous game. A fantastic day out all because of him,

What I did notice was he was ruthless and berated the players a lot. Funny thing was when some cameras turned up and he became all funny and joking around. He’s a complicated person who is probably his worst critic. What comes with that is a person also with a huge heart.

Nice story, charmr, and I have three or four of my own stories which would echo and confirm that.

I must have had at least half a dozen long 1-1 conversations with him over the years. He is always gracious with his time and always makes you feel that your opinion is at least as valid as his, and that he would always welcome you in to his house with a smile and a cup of tea. In fact, you probably wouldn't get out of the house again until Kim kicked you out!🤣

My Holloway story is similar.
We had just relaunched the Dennis the Menace away kit and there was a Family Day at Chessington (might have been Thorpe Park). After most of the players had done their obligatory photoshoots etc and gone, Olly was still there with his family having fun. Never played the Bertie Big Potatoes once and they happily queued for the rides with the rest of us and he had a smile and a chat for everyone.
Lovely family man who loves the Rangers goes a long way to forgive any tactical shortcomings in my book.

When I asked if I could watch training he gave his phone number.

Later on the club were talking about not being able to afford suits for the players for the Cardiff play off. Southampton had I think just played in the cup final so I sent him a text suggesting they could ask Southampton if there was any chance of seeing if they were available.

He phoned me back pissing himself, said it really made his day, not even sure he knew who he was calling, nice touch though.

My take on Holloway, does he play up to the media in a way not too dissimilar to Redknapp ?

He knows the right things to say, what makes people laugh and all the honesty best policy stuff but a lot of that goes by the way side when he's manager.

I seem to remember when he came back here he was giving an honest assessment of himself, what he's learned and this great journey he's been on and all that raz-mataz and how he's wiser and no longer rants ant the officials blah blah blah - but wasn't long before he was berating them again.

He cares passionately about QPR and worships the club and all those soundbites but has still been taking his wage (which of course he's entitled to) for a year knowing the club are stretched to the rafters on their budget.

Is he all that?
