Southampton haven't yet denied these allegations!

For anyone who doesn't know Boro caught someone with some very sophisticated cameras and recording equipment spying on one of their training sessions.

Apparently Boro are looking into the possibility that Saints have done this to other teams this season.

Nightmare timing for the EFL. I can't see any way for them to fudge this

Thing is, if you only fine them and give them a points deduction and you don’t remove them from the play offs and then they win, they’ll get £200M for promotion making the fine irrelevant and the points deduction will only come into effect if/when they get relegated. So, basically, no punishment at all.

Apparently, the appeals panel is a completely different set of people so they might come up with a different decision anyway

I'm shocked the EFL have made the right decision!

Interesting that the first 'spying' they've admitted to was way back in December - Eckert replaced Still as manager in November. Does make you wonder if there's more to this....I mean, if they thought it was necessary to spy on Oxford - why not every club?

And the EFL says that has to be sorted tomorrow .

I think admitting to multiple charges is why they’ve been booted out .
My old Grandad will be turning in his grave being a Southampton fan , but I’m quietly pleased at the outcome

They can appeal against the punishment.

Although four points deducted is a joke in the circumstances.

I thought the EFL would bottle it so I'm pleasantly surprised that they didn't.
