| Swansea City v Wayne Rooney’s Derby County : Matchday Thread 21/22 21:18 - Apr 6 with 13537 views | NotLoyal | It’s the Wayne Rooney thread with added thread and thread. The type of thread your old granny used to use to thread your socks. The Ref ! Tim Robinson will be the referee when Swansea City host Derby County at the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday (3pm). The West Sussex official will be taking charge of a Swans game for the second time this season — having overseen the home win over Blackburn in February - and just the fourth time in total. He previously had the whistle for the away win at Reading during the 2018-19 season, and the defeat at Fulham the following campaign. Robinson will be assisted by Andrew Fox and Nigel Lugg, while Sam Allison will be the fourth official. Robinson has taken charge of 30 games in all competitions this season, dishing out 132 yellow cards 🟨 and six reds 🟥 including the one issued to Ryan Manning in that meeting with Blackburn. 132 yellows in 30 games ! Look out ! Wayne Rooney looks ahead to Swansea City v Derby County 8th Apr 2022 10:16Derby boss Wayne Rooney really couldn’t have done anything more to get his side in to a position where they had half a chance of staying in the championship this season. The loss of twenty one points for administration issues and financial breaches have been the catalyst for what is fast looking like relegation. 0 Job Done ðŸ‘

Not you Max. We had a cracking match thread with Millwall and now this absolute mud slinging fest. When you have first posts aimed at patronising others and a clear "I AM RIGHT" then you will eventually have what we are have all read on this match day thread. If admin can't see the massive issue then they need their heads knocking together. I can only imagine the response I will get to this post but it will only serve to be another pathetic knife in to the heart of this site to entertain one posters needs. Come on Keith, read through the Millwall thread and this one........ You can't ignore the obvious!

What mud are you accusing me of slinging exactly? Are you referring to me politely replying to the ridiculous responses to my posts? Very much like not wanting to invite the popular guy who gets all the attention to the party and telling the organiser “he’s trouble” then attacking him as he walks through the door and saying “see”. Give your views. Leave the nonsense to one side, nobody is buying it and I will politely bat it away all day. You are wasting your time. I was told by someone you may well be surprised about and he said “don’t rise to their bait, they are going to be coming after you for any innocuous comments now then trying to blame you”. I replied “I already know that”.

Then the usual suspects arrive and you can spot the exact moment that things turn personal and snide. Constant goading. Dr P then gets the blame. History repeating itself yet again. I would suggest putting him on ignore but no doubt that would spoil your fun. You are spoiling it for those of us who want to read an exchange of opinions. We won another game. Can we not enjoy that as supporters of the same club? |
He is to blame. We won a game, we enjoyed it in the Millwall thread but today like a lot of other threads a certain poster is involved in..... It comes to this.

That is incredible. You are saying Martin has changed the style at last yet not seen us over the last two games. You haven't even read a match report, just had stats read out by your other half ? Had you watched the last two games as I and many on here did, you would have seen that the style of Martin's team has not changed. However the outcome of using that style has. To analyse a game without seeing us invalidates your opinion on how or why we have improved IMHO

I was watching the games where he did change the style, after speaking to people and seeing the data it’s pretty obvious that has continued. I said we clearly relapsed against Millwall though, right back to high possession and high pass count. Do you disagree then? Absolutely nobody I have spoken to has disagreed so far. Feel free to explain why if so. I mean, I know inflation has risen sharply in the States, I’ve not spent any money there though. But the data is absolutely clear as are the first hand accounts. Let’s keep away from the silliness shall we. If you still think we had high possession rates and high pass count numbers yesterday then explain why I’m wrong, as I’m saying we didn’t. Am I right or wrong there? Be honest. [Post edited 10 Apr 2022 9:41]

I thought we deserved the win, a very good game of football, Wolf had a very good game, Fisher was poor, Piroe was excellent, a very good team performance which proved to be a difficult game against a team fighting for survival. Your thoughts on the game and individual performances?

I didn’t see it, hence why I won’t comment on individual performances. I did notice our possession and pass count numbers were right down again though, plus long ball % into double figures again. Encouraging. That’s right isn’t it?

So, your’re all over the match day thread and you didn’t watch the match. Why didn’t you start another thread about stats for the season and title it the pointless drivel thread? I think the manager deserves great credit for his first season in this difficult league, but some people on here just will not offer any praise because they were wrong about him.

So we didn’t have 55% possession, a pass count in the 500’s and a long ball % in double figures? I’m open for someone to correct me, no issue with that. It’s ok to agree too you know…

I gave one post, noting that we appear to be down on the key indicators again, which i labelled as encouraging and said it was positive. Not sure why that was so offensive although I was warned by several people that this would be the tactic on my return. Ever since then I’ve been fielding questions and responses, much like your ones here. Much of them ludicrous and clearly trying to goad (unsuccessfully). Who is wrong about RM? What have they said exactly? Why didn’t you just PM me if you didn’t want me to reply on the thread? [Post edited 10 Apr 2022 10:08]

We did deserve to win should have scored more and their keeper should have been sent off. But we have tweaked how we play I have already said this our kicks off no longer end up with keeper we pass it high and long out to the wing for Christie. Grimes and Fulton played some cross field passes and diagonals we were not doing that earlier in the season. We still play out from the back but we take less chances and we are looking to use the ball notjust keep it. Yes the players are more comfortable maybe because they are now allowed to use their instinct rather than keep the ball. Naughton looks great these days and this is possibly why. We are witnessing attractive winning football and it’s great but it is not the same style and tactics employed at the start of the season check our t previous match extended highlights to see how we now go long from the kick off rather than back to keeper and see how little Cross field balls were played as to now. I’m fed up with the arguments on here which become personal because certain posters haven’t held RM on the pedestal some have put him on . I believed early doors this squad was capable of better but the obsession with possession was dragging us down. Also I couldn’t get the playing if round pegs in square holes players who fit but don’t fill the slot like playing Williams and Cabango on their unnatural sides he seemed to think he knew better than Klopp who used Williams on the left Ilast season in both the Champions and Premier league. It seems that a change has occurred. Long may it continue The crap on here is bullying and gang warfare No poster has changed Martin’s thinking no poster would think that. There has been a change not a radical shift but a tweak and focus on attack more than keep ball I’ve said it before we will not always agree but the way some posters turn on those with differing opinion is shameful

Point being had you been at the game yesterday or watched it from afar, you would have been complaining either at the team or at the TV, etc, at the times we passed back when there were forward options, passed around the back inviting trouble, saw tioi tapi passes between Grimes and Fulton and strange substitutions. Much of the same can be said of the Millwall game. So whilst I am pleased we are winning and finding quite a bit of success ( 19 points from 27 ) there has been no climbing down from Martin and no major change. Just his methods which you have derided all season, are beginning to bear fruit. Credit to Martin and his style where it is due. You read too much into stats. A great week, three wins and one goal conceded in four. Plus we are joint 11th so an upper half team now. Well done Martin and the team

So you are having a go at me for something I didn’t do? How do you know what I would or wouldn’t have said? I have praised us often when we have played this way with less focus on possession, pass number and short pass count, so your assumption isn’t based on reality. I’ve not said it’s a bad week, I’ve said it’s a positive one. I’ve also not taken any credit from Martin, I’ve just noted that this is not the style brought here that many of us were complaining about. Not sure what there is to disagree with really? Maybe it’s the username as others have suggested.

You are insisting that there has been a change in style and that somehow Martin is listening and learning and questioning why it has taken him so long to learn. There has been no change, he hasn't learned anything and therefore he isn't listening to you or his other detractors. It is simply that he has maintained his insistence on trying to play a certain way and it is starting to bear fruit. Had you watched the Millwall or Derby games you would have witnessed no major changes or evidence of "learning"

Of course he’s changed. We have gone from high 70% possession, 800 passes and single digit long balls to a more direct approach with less focus on possession and pass numbers and more on actually trying to directly break the lines. Whether you like it or not, there has been a very clear change in these numbers. To pretend it’s the same style when it’s quite clearly different suggests that you may not want to see it as opposed to talking realistically. I’ve laid the figures bare. These aren’t guesses. The poster above who watched the games has also confirmed it. Feel free to tell us that we didn’t have 55% possession, 500 odd passes and double figures long balls. I’m open to listening if you are disputing these changes in data. [Post edited 10 Apr 2022 11:00]

Isn't that a quality we want in a manager? In the rush to dogpile forums enemies people don't half say some stupid things. Last night it was "tactics don't matter in football" when the biggest defence of our poor results this season had been the players were needing time to adapt to the massive change in tactics from last season. It's impossible to actually discuss football here sometimes when the personalities are more interested in winning their battles.

Spot on. Struggled to see how my post of obvious fact based observations would possibly be taken negatively. It didn’t take long for it to be though. So now we are apparently playing exactly the same way as we always have done… we are just better at it. The fact we often have 20% less possession, 250 less passes and double and triple the long balls is an irrelevant inconvenience

Other posters have but you insist that you can tell more through stats than those who have seen the games. The big difference yesterday ( and Tuesday ) were three brilliant strikes from Piroe, who is a fantastic player and will go far in the game. Of course had the ref seen things differently we could have been talking about either a more comfortable victory or a victory for them through three penalties. Glad to say the best team won yesterday and on Tuesday Well done RM and the team
