Good defensive performance, especially from Fraser Forster. Van Dyke also excelled. However, we are really missing Steve Davis . We have plenty of defensive cover in midfield, Romeu, Clasie, Wanyama but nothing creative which means that we can only make a limited number of chances and cannot dominate the opposition.

I never mentioned Ward-Prowse, which is because I just can't see what useful contribution he makes.

Think our performance in defence and defensive midfield warranted some luck. Tadic is a waste of space imo. Referee gave us a few decisions in the 1st half, but certainly tried to even things up after the break. Great point overall. On a side note, apart from not singing, Arsenal fans are also real Whingers!!

Tadic and Mane are good enough, it's attitude plus the amount of games in the the Eredivise is far less (also with a winter break over there) than they are uses too. Also Pelle both times about this time of year as an injury lay off and gets christmas. from that point of view we need hardier players but all three have brought something special after the Exodus, however not for all the games.

Alehouse - he is not my favourite, but I am glad JWP was on the line last night - the one and only time that Fraser was beaten !!

95 + minutes later, nerves are shattered. Early dominance paid off. Yoshida, pops up when you least expect him! We are talking about him again but positively this time..

Defended doggedly once more which is very encouraging. Showed great character and backbone and couldn't be happier with the win. Had Shane and Charlie taken their chances it would have eased the pressure a bit. Having said that, for all West Hams pressure they didn't really threaten but when balls are being lumped into the box, they could fall anywhere. Especially in the 94th minute...

As for Wanayama's sending off, I think it is a little harsh, looking worse then it was. From what i could see, he tackled between his legs (so to speak) and didn't chops the legs down. No doubt, it added the pressure on us but we stood tall.

We march on the the next match!

What a difference a good keeper makes!
Weird game. Defended brilliantly but we kept inviting wave after wave of West Ham attack because of our inability to hold the ball in attack - before and after the red card. Pelle and Mane tried, but the big man didn't have his touch back after injury and Mane, well, it's not really going for him at the moment.
Red card - stupid challenge. Not a red but I can see why the ref gave it. Payet and Byram committed worse challenges in my opinion.
All in all, good battling performance and a great result in the circumstances

As soon as we scored we went on the back foot and handed WH a chance to dominate the game.
VW jeopardised the victory but a great rearguard action by the whole team. Some played better thsn others but all put in plenty of effort. A very spirited performance but it made fo a very nervous watch.

Not a very good game really, west hame don't have much in attack and we defend like world champions.
I don't think people should mark VW down as he was unfairly sent off watching the replays, when on the pitch he done a good job in breaking down the attacks and making the goal. Long should be info the grief really, just not good enough when he has the ball, agree runs a lot and puts in challenges but thats about it, too many attacks get created when he loses the ball far to easily or he passes to the oposition .
As the last two game show we need some quality upfront and we just don't have it. The defence was awesome, what a signing Van Dijk is and his work alongside Fonte who was also very good makes for what every team except Leicester envious.
