But how bad do you lot reckon it’s going to get here in the UK?
I just been watching the news. Looking nasty in Italy.

My methods are not favoured by some but by god i speak the truth.

I'm not sure if any of our politicians could have done better though. Bojo has been listening to experts but he still had to play the hand he was dealt at the time. He definitely got things wrong but I'm not sure he'll be gone, we won't be having elections for a while so unless the Tories unseat him he'll stay where he is.

Does anybody think there's anyone else in the Tory ranks who would do better?

As it goes (though I'm not sure they would have done much better) I reckon Labour would have removed the financial worries sooner because they would have thrown money at it straight away and not worried about the consequences until later. Like I say, beat the virus first and sort the rest out afterwards.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Encouraging news from China, no new cases reported today.

Great news that China has not had any new domestic cases, but they and many other countries are facing a 2nd CoronaVirus wave from people importing it from outside.

China has reported 34 new cases among people recently returned to China ... Many returning from Singapore.

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

We are only just having the first wave, they are probably about to have the second wave.

Well our school closes tomorrow, so next week we're in to do a deep clean, we then have our Easter hols brought forward and return on 6/4 schools won't reopen thn so it looks like we'll get sent around the Vale to clean/deep clean where necessary, I'm happy with that.

Yesterday though lost two off my staff who went sick!! so this mornings shift was just 2 of us, which worked my backside of, yet given the amount of area requiring cleaning, seems as if little got done!!

Do not exhaust yourself, it can be dangerous when something like COVID19 is around and even the Flu.
Take care of yourself as you are trying to indirectly take care of others, it is one reason that so many medics are getting it.

The current test is a quantitative PCR. Basically you detect and amplify copies of a specific part of the genetic material of the virus. The virus (live or dead) has to be present to be positive. It is possible to have been infected and now be clear. The serology or antibody tests being developed will detect exposure ( antibody response to infections) without the bug. Really important now to determine immune or recovered populations

One of the big problems with COVID19 testing is that it is mostly based on Flu tests, but the experiences of China & Italy show something different is required.
ie Mouth or Nose swabs, with COVID19 they do not work at all well because the main places of virus growth is the throat and lungs.
So negative nose & mouth tests have not identified infected patients where throat and lung samples do.
This is one nasty tricky little virus that everyone originally assumed was "just another Flu", that probably explains the lack of emergency action when it first started spreading in Wuhan.
It took that very brave doctor to tell them they were wrong and he is now dead.

Boris's experts gave him the wrong advice initially, but even saying that the majority of governments around the world have been woefully slow in enacting correct quarintine procedures and making preparations.
Only yesterday the Australian PM closed their borders, despite the vast majority of their cases having been from "flyers", many flying back from the USA.
I think because of Flu vaccinations being relied on for Flu epidemics so much, when something new comes along it takes the world by surprise, when in actual fact the plans to combat it it should already be in place along with stockpiled equipment.
The only ones who appeared to be suitably prepared were the Asian countries that had just experienced MERS & SARS outbreaks.

There are not many Socialist politicians about but one of them would have done better much better than BoJo because they believe in equality and would put people first before money.

I think one of the major problems is that the whole world has become totally reliant on Vaccines for just about everything.
So when something new comes along and there is no vaccine governments have forgotten what is required.
An NHS doctor has stated that this country has learned noting from the Ebola outbreak regarding Quarantine, Isolation and having and using the right equipment.
But it is pretty obvious that we are not the only ones.
If China had not been so slow & secretive about what happened in Wuhan maybe the rest of the world would have locked them down, which is what was required to stop it spreading so quickly.
Now every country is having to lock themselves down instead of the original source.

Most major infectious diseases are not vaccine preventable-
No vaccine or like TB is not very effective. There is some basis to what you say. Vaccine work best as part of a strategy usually involving hygiene and biosecurity.

Donald Trump has in a few weeks gone from claiming it's a Democratic hoax aimed at unseating him to saying he always knew it was a pandemic.

This one's even funnier than yours because it's actually true.

Sorry to disagree yet again, but childhood TB was got under control in the UK by TB vaccinations back in the 50s.
The Adult TB is the one that needs a new vaccine, because the paediatric version doesn't work for them.
It looks like there needs to be a new version about every ten years.
see
https://rstmh.org/blog/2019/mar/26/bcg-vaccine-works-so-why-do-we-need-new-tb-va

Other diseases are also controlled that way.
https://www.who.int/bulletin/volumes/86/2/07-040089/en/
https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/parents/diseases/forgot-14-diseases.html

The big problem is when the diseases take control where vaccines are not used and mutate and are then re-itroduced through immigration in to stable societies.

In the 1950s in the U.K., yes and still works relatively well
Still. The problem is it nigh on useless in areas like Africa. You need to think globally with vaccines as the current outbreak shows

A simple cheap medicine that is a possible cure, possible preventative and does reduce symptoms.
The money grabbing drug industry won't like it though.

This has just been talked about on German TV AFD. It’s being trialled at the Hamburg Institute of Tropical Medicine and there is a large trial currently taking place in Canada apparently. The virologist from Hamburg sounded enthusiastic. He didn’t say anything about the gin though unfortunately.

Incredibly difficult challenge facing government's around the world. I find it very alarming though the lack of consistency in different countries approaches.

Was in the States with work in January. Went to a shopping mall just outside Albany NY state, must have used their open WiFi. Had an email from them today saying that in adherence to the governor of New York's guidelines the shopping mall as of this evening will be closing indefinitely.

Yet we, seem to be brazenly carrying on as per normal.

it's ridiculous, something all over my bones tells me that is the big one, playing with figures and models it's a fcking joke, so annoying the powers that be seem to think they can predict what this virus is going to do... Personally, I have never been so fcing scared in all my life, and it's getting worse, because they are not being pro active as they should be about it...Way short of the mark!

2 or 3 weeks behind the italians they said the other day, look how their cases have escalated in the last week, it's crazy, it's too late now, but we should never been left in this state, no planning for this at all.. ;(

No this isn't the big one, this is the wake up call.
Can you imagine a virus as sneaky as this with the mortality rate close to Ebola.
That would be the real big one.

It's nature's way mate. Famine, flood, plague, warmongering dickheads, religious dickhead mania. All ways of poulation control. All of our names are on a natures bullet somewhere. I've referred on here before to my son's qualification in virology and I circulated a note his boss Jeremy Rossman has written

This is his website: https://researchaidnetworks.org/

and for those interested Jeremy is being interviewed on LBC around 4pm

"M'sieur, you said your dog did not bite!" "That's not my dog"
