Very bold statement from Boris 17:58 - Mar 16 with 7729 views1983

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said everyone in the UK should now avoid "non-essential" travel and contact with others to fight coronavirus.

He said people should work from home where possible, as part of a range of stringent new measures.

Some on here will still bang on about season ticket refunds

The small shops are pretty well stocked cos people are converging on supermarkets like starving locusts. I went to one in Clase earlier after work and it had pretty much everything.

Exactly

Boris plan will infect whole families, China's perceived successful plan did not.

Can you share the Chinese plan for families please?

Which part of slowing it down do you not understand. Because no-one knows if they have it or not.
All those children spreading it amongst themselves in school, a bit like a cruise ship, infecting the teachers and then going home to infect anybody else they come in contact with.
Is that the sort of slowing down you mean?

If anyone in the household gets it, they all have to quarantine for 14 days.

And it’s not remotely like a cruise ship.

Villages idiots and village menatlity

I called into my Tesco express yesterday bog roll, pasta, tins of beans, paracetamol,

Whatever you wanted no problem

We were in Asda this morning, apparently folk were queueing outside before the doors opened on the weekend.
Some shelves were almost completely devoid of pasta sauce, baked beans, kitchen roll and bread, it's crazy how folk are reacting.
I'm sure this is not the general picture. Boris' statement today will surely only add to the angst folk are beginning to feel.

You alluded to it saying the virus will infect whole families in the UK as opposed to China's plan.

My Mrs is a teacher in a Swansea school, they've had the nod they'll close from next week.

Our sons school has today cancelled all after school clubs, stopped having assemblies. Is this the lead up to schools shutting?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

I would imagine when the country goes in to isolation no tv will result in the first riots and martial law.

Speaking of food deliveries, the earliest available delivery slot with Tesco today is Sunday 29 March. People are tw@ts. Selfish tw@ts. Rationing is inevitable the way things are going.

My cousin is a manager in Fforsetfach, and he informed me that people have booked almost daily deliveries several weeks in advance. Selfish tvvats indeed.

Doesn’t surprise me. The companies also have a responsibility to stop that happening.

Ridiculous , we called in to get our usual, nothing more.
We spoke to one assistant, who said some were going nuts with their shopping. Bizarre behaviour

It will all depend on the rules concerning help for businesses and when or if it's implemented

We have 4 home games left (excluding play off )

Luton on Wed 18th March

Sheff Wed on Sat 4th April

Leeds on Mon 13th April

Bristol City on Sat 25th April

I'd be surprised if we don't complete them as usual.

You are right nothing like a cruise ship, they have individual cabins to isolate themselves in.
Schools, 30 to a class and 2500 in assmbly and play time.

A cruise ship though is filled with vulnerable people who will have a higher than average incidence of serious symptoms?

Everyone knows that schools are a worry. The issue, surely, is what do you do if they are shut?
