Urgh should have won that, really. Two great chances missed by Benny which beggars the question why were Kolli and Smyth removed and Mbengue for that matter. Andy Sinton said on commentary that their right side were 'out on their feet' perfect for Smyth.

Attritional game for both teams, everyone looks shattered
Happy we finished the stronger
some more learning for the young ones:
Walsh (again) got his positioning wrong for their goal, overcovering - decent wrong foot finish but still, he can and will do better. Good distribution and command of box all game though.
Bennie - something I like about this lad, his movement / positioning is instinctively good, but he'll know he should have scored at least once. Header not bad could have been better, final chance pretty bad, got to do better. Feels like he didn't commit to where he was going to put it and caught in two minds. We know he can strike a ball well, and he held his position in space well to get the chance.
Don't get me wrong, I want the youngsters in the team and to see them succeed, and I don't expect them to be perfect - just things to work on that you want to see improve over time.
Smyth again most threatening player overall.
Could have won, maybe should have won with a bit better performance especially first half, but glad we came back into it and didn't give up. Point is fine. |  | | |

The last 15 minutes showed what we could have done had we decided to put in Watford effort levels at the start. Ended very strongly, Preston were clinging on.
The performance had me thinking about Clive's theory about how the players approach the 3rd game of a week if they've won the first two. Definitely more than a hint of 'we've done our bit for Easter' in the 'efforts' of the first 70 minutes.
Nice to keep the unbeaten run going but to be genuine play off challengers the mentality against Watford has to be the norm. |  | | |

I am not seeing Poku in the same light as you are. Yes, he has had a lot of hamstring issues, but he has barely had a shot on target or created goal scoring chances when he has been on the pitch.
Obviously if he can stay fit we can better judge him next season, but for me so far, he has been a huge disappointment. | | | |

Also, Morgan. He completed a full 180 + minutes in 4 days in central midfield and was still going at the end. That's really good.

We were definitely fitter/more interested than them, I agree Ned.
But we were far, far from dynamic until the subs came on.
We had a lot of players who couldn't line out today due to fitness issues, who couldn't even make the bench today, we had other unfit players on the bench who if fully fit would be expected to start, and we had at least one player (Smyth) on the pitch who was injured/unfit for far too long before he was replaced by a player returning from injury.
It didn't matter today because our season is blown, but had we been fighting for promotion today, then I think our inability to blow away a moribund PNE team would be causing us dismay.
Fitness remains a huge issue, imho. | |

Unlucky not to get the three points today, better team overall, Bennie has to score but it’s actually enjoyable to see the team playing football over the last games. Morgan I thought ticked the midfield over very well, kept the ball very well and seemed to always be available and find himself space, he’s definitely getting his confidence back after this run of games in the side. I would love to see him and Madsen in midfield together for the last couple of games of Madsen is back as I think these two could really compliment each other in the long run, both can pass the ball and technically good.

Agree with this. Was flicking between Pompey v Oxford and Millwall v Norwich beforehand and of those four teams only Norwich looked to have anything in the tank - but that may be because of the six teams I saw today Millwall were the most gassed (probably spent after their Boro win).

Said something similar describing the match to my son and father .
The first half display had all the hallmarks of previous matches after a good win. Phoning it in a little in some areas . Not completely, but there was a whiff of complacency/ tiredness/ our work is done about how we went about the first half .
I said at half time that if we just add a little urgency then we’ll win this ..but so will Preston if they do the same .
Second half was much better although the goal was so similar to the goal we conceded at Leicester . Oceans of space in behind our midfield. Walsh positioning questionable although I think he’s more wrong footed than being way out of position .
I thought we had a go and I liked some of our play in that second half . Disappointed to see Kolli go off but probably precautionary.
Thought Edwards again was imperious .
Starting to really look good again .
Felt for Bennie too. He should score at least one. But looked gutted at the end .
Both teams out on their feet . Hard to judge overall fitness .
