Sorry for new thread,
But how bad do you lot reckon it’s going to get here in the UK?
I just been watching the news. Looking nasty in Italy.

My methods are not favoured by some but by god i speak the truth.

Better news from Italy, there are less deaths today than yesterday.
Hopefully the lockdown is starting to have an affect.

Those countries that actually experienced Mers, Sears & dengue fever learnt a lot better than the rest of the world.
In fact I requent quite a few Forums with Americans on them, it is shocking how many are still saying "it is just another Flu" and "it is no worse than the flu".
Quoting the US CDC statistics for flu.

I fear for the USA with no integrated health system, no universal health care.

In which case they’re idiots.

How do you know btw? Are people posting pictures? Because if so, they’re idiots as well.

Stay inside.

I didn’t go out myself Lisa, but I know a few folks who run certain bars. Lots of promotions to get rid of stock. And a load of randy teenagers wanting one last blowout before lockdown.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

The vast majority of face masks are DISPOSABLE.
It means you use it and throw it away.

I've forgotten more about disposable masks than google will ever tell you my friend.

Some of the stuff on this thread is a disgrace. Thankfully we only have a tiny audience of a few football internet nerds but the concern is that the internet is full of pseudo experts the like of which infest this thread like the ghouls they are.

Follow the advice. Stay home if you can. Stop trying to persuade people that they’re all going to die. You tw@ts.

It was 621 yesterday according to worldometers and 546 today according to the BBC a little while ago.
But worldometers says it is 793 today.

So who to believe, but to clarify it is the Daily Death Rate that would have gone down if the beeb was right, not the overall total.

I've not insinuated anything of the sort, but what i will suggest, as I'm in a suggesting mood, is that the majority of medical face masks are not going to stop you contracting this disease.

BBC website at 17.04 said 793. clearly using the Worldometers figure which they have been for a few days now. Probably a mistake earlier.

Probably due to the grading - has anyone out there said about the standard needed to stop the virus getting through a mask?

I continue to be irritated by the panic buying stories. This is NOT behaviour I condone, BUT I believe people are not fearful of food supplies running out. The real reason is that, if predictions are correct and we are still a way off the peak, once that day comes folk will not want to be in close quarters with a group of people where maybe 30% are infected.

We can choose to go to a restaurant, pub, theatre etc but we have to buy food. What I would like to see is a clear plan from the retailers about how they will deal with this eventuality because I'm not sure I've seen one yet.

Just had this on WhatsApp good common sense really

From a friend...
‘[A nursing friend] has said they’ve had a message today that virus seems to be spreading quickly via petrol pumps so they advise to wear gloves when filling up or use paper towel and bin straight away. Can you please pass this around anyone you know. Could make huge difference. There are no gloves/ paper towels left in service stations any more so keep a couple of spares in your car.’

As the picture develops more every day, I think we need to look at Wales more, in context.

5 deaths in 280 cases, so far

This doesn't mean we can relax, but people just need to stick their head down over the nest few weeks, and we'll get through it

It's still irresponsible. How much porridge/pasta and rice can people actually use? Are we suddenly a nation on love with fresh food? Are we all now home bakers?

Hopefully this will now encourage people to plan their weekly meals and be more sensible
