Most on here reckons HJ pulls all the strings - if that is so and it was the case that HJ wanted Clement out weeks ago, why didn't he sack him ?
So either HJ is all powerful and therefore didn't want to sack him, or he has no power and therefore, even if he did want him sacked, the Yanks wouldn't let him.

If he goes the Americans will likely appoint someone they know from the hedge fund world, and maybe Landan Donavon, or similar, to help with footballing matters.

We could get rid of Jenkins today and improve the club no problem. What does the DOF actually do?
On the football side he determines strategy. A way of playing and the appointment of a manager to implement that way. Liaise with that manager with regard to player recruitment in order to implement the agreed way of playing.
Surely Pearlman could do the contract negotiations with players and their agents so that just leaves the football aspects of the job. Sack Jenkins and appoint Alan Curtis today. Curt isn’t a manager but he would be an infinitely better DOF than Jenkins. |  |
